im 5'6 and so close to buying a gt125 , am i too short to ride one...will i be safely secure with my feet on the ground or is that unlikely...PLEASE REPLY ASAP!!!
ive had 92 mph out of mine, up rated air box, blue flame carbon exhaust and end can, its the GT 125 comet so I think it would be a little quicker with the fairing to get behind.
@Peza422 uprated your airbox? how and where did you get that i would much like to get some more power as mine does, 65-70mph, any sugestions would be good, i build my own exhaust system so that i dont need to worry about, but air intakes chargers turbos anything thanks
@BRB134 I would probably go for a kawasaki ninja 250r if youve passed the 125cc course. Get one second hand as brand new prices are pretty high (like £4000-4500 brand new as opposed to £2000-3000 second hand and in good condition usually when 2nd hand). If you get it second hand it will also help a tonne when getting insurance (depending on whether you want to go 3rd party or fully comprehensive. It will cost me minimum £500 on 3rd party and minimum £2500 fully comp, and im 18 btw.)
h, just wanna say really enjoyed the review. i have a hyosung gt125 r the 2007 version and ive managed to get 89mph out of it that on flat roads but thats not flat out at top revs, im usually at about 1100 rpm
i'm 16 and i'm almost 17 i want a 125 ? i am buying a Hyosung GT 123 R 2010 plate! almost no miles on the clock for 2000 English Pounds from a 50 year old guy at my work so he wont of ragged it around ! Is that a good deal :) thanks like the vid SAFE RIDING ! any really bad points about the bike you did not mention on your vid :) ps i'm going to fit a louder exhaust to make it sound bigger
VERY good review ;) nice red line noise :D i'm ether getting a GT 125 Hyo <3 or a KTM exc 125 and get it road legal when im 17 :) cant wait :DDDDDD good riding :)
well i have a question does this bike shows the fuel percentage coz im getting a bike soon and i would like 2 know i can only take up 2 200cc not above that coz im just a starter plus my starting license cc in singapore here i can get at 100cc-200cc only argh darn it
I agree the bike could do with an additional gear however this is why a lot of people change the sprocket on these.. to give that slightly longer final drive - the 85mph beasts.
i was expecting you to be a 17 year old still on his cbt, not a 40 year old who looks like he still lives with his mum. also your not fooling anybody with the suzuki stickers. sorry but i said what needed to be said.
@bubblesjs Dude, in the UK you can't go above 125cc if you're a beginner. This guy is a beginner. I'm sure he'd have a 400cc if he could and contrary to popular belief, some people start riding when they're older..
Mine is a bog standard 57 plate and has done 8000 miles. On a long flat stretch of road it will hit 87mph when there is no wind or 70mph into a strong headwind. Above 60mph it does take a long time to clock up the speed.
Given that i'm nearly 16 stone I cant understand why other people's gt125r's can't get above mid 70's mph?
I bought mine with 700 miles on and from 1,000 miles up to about 3,000 it did about 70 mph. They get better the more run in they get. Before it died a death last year it was happy at 75 mph on the motorway, with a bit more to go.
@Deathcheese123 Well it didn't die it was just injured. Got shunted into a car infront and the headstock was knocked out of alighnment. Hoping to have it back next week.
just got mine the other day, great starter bike (not the fastest, 73mph out of mine) will try and post a 0-60 vid soon, but dont hope for too much, but as a first bike i recommend one of these, after a year or so i will get a bigger bike.
I have a hyosung gt125r aswell gr8 bike brakes seem alrite you may have a faulty brake piston. As for the top end speed im 14 stone so not a small guy and in 4th i will redline at 75mph and i have had 85mph in 5th it may be to do with your sprocket setup. check how many teeth your front sprocket has i have 2 set ups for my bike atm, 15front-52rear 85mph top end and for acceleration 13f-52r 75 top end the sproket cost £10 and is easy to fit reply to this i can prob help out with vid instructions
how much do you weigh mate? im 11 and a half stone, but im quite tall, and this bike looks quite tall unlike most aprilias i have been on. and 85mph? do you have any performance parts? thanks all the best , josh.
the only performance i have with the bike is i have a micron end can, but with the standard just remove the baffle and it will have the same effect. the air filter people think u need fancy air filters YOU DONT standard is fine but take the box off and drill the top out (i can provide a pic) and the other little trick is which works well Shell optimax/super unleaded. i will also be trying some NOS street boost formula that boosts the octane to 103 rather than standard 95
lol its true that the size will help when getting a bigger bike. im going for a '98 RVF 400 when i get my licence sorted, like i said in the vid the review is only based on my bike which has been through the wars a bit lol. i plan to get my brakes looked at as its clearly a mechanical probably a probelm rather than a design fault. hey next time ur in brecon let me know maybee we can meet up for a ride
lew tops on mine has been 74 and i'm 6ft and 15st a lump basically but that was on a VERY VERY VERY MINUTE SLOPE on a road coming from oxford, and my brakes seem ok as i cannot compare to another bike as this is the only one i've ridden but i like the size the best as whe i buy a street triple it's not gonna be strange as this is probably bigger than the triple, as this is bigger than the fz1, fazer etc
teeth.

go up a tooth on the front sprocket, or down on the rear. if you waant more top speed.
might make it more sluggish low down in the rev band.
