What grain rounds were you using? I use 220's in my weatherby vanguard deluxe it was made in 1977 and its still a track driver sub moa at 100 yards easy
@N0thingIsTrue Yep, sound pressure still reaches 100+ dB wearing good protection, and brakes diverts sound in your and your companions direction rather than forward so there is a con with brakes as I see it. But on heavy calibers like .300/338 magnum they can be neccesary for cooping with the recoil force. (or a sound suppressor).
@cazorp I have the same rifle except I'm using a NXS 5.5-22X50 - people hate me at the range especially when I'm pushing 208 Amax at near max loads. A guy 5 lanes away from me (lanes in between open) told me he was getting blasted with the gases from the brake. I couldn't believe it! Love my Trg42 in 300 Win mag. Btw You may want to slow down your rate of fire to preserve some barrel life... Your choice it's your rifle..just a suggestion.
@N0thingIsTrue The brake is amazing...with 180gr loads at 3000fps mine recoils less than my 700 LTR 308Win. Heck and even with HOT 208-210gr it recoils a little less than my 308win or on par.
I love watching these guys with their super expensive guns Turkey necking to get a consistent sight picture. Don't think an actual marksman is positioning up/down, left/right on every shot. first thing you should get right
amazing how well the muzzle brake works, I've seen many videos of the 300 with and without and just truely amazing how big a difference it makes. I have debated alot wheathert o get the 308 or the 300 and is I go 300 I will get the muzzle brake for lots of shooting. Who makes this muzzle brake?? Thanks
A gentleman that I talked to at a gunshow had this particular set up and compared it to shooting a .223 rifle. He said the muzzle brake is quite effective.
dude that gun is atleast 2gs mayb more with the scope or w/e ..... remington 700 or one of those new mossbergs with the fluted barrel its not as futuristic or pretty but they will sure do w/e that rifle can do for half to quarter of the price
@enriquecarloslopezsi That gun is more like $8,5k USD with scope, and it isnt all about which rifle that will shoot good groups att 100 meters, its about reliability and a stable platform..
@cazorp ???????????uhhh if thats a 6k scope then i belive that, but they arent 8gs ...also ive shot a r700 at 900 yards and hit every shot at a 24 inch plate nothing too special but its fucking cheaper and its still a good platform ...i mean its a remington !!!!!
I own both a 3,5k Rem 700 and a $10k AI AW incl. optics, and one is out for sale - and it isn't the AI AW.. Why go about in a drag racer when there is Formula 1's available..
@butterbean3932 Aha another great american youtube philosofer that thinks that everything evolves around USA.
When you have an intelligent answer come back to me,in the mean time, will you start cleaning up the mess around your trailer for Christmas you lazy fat american fuck.
And by the way i have 2 Sakos,2 tikkas,1 remington in my gunlocker, something you could never afford.
@y2jshit Depends on what youre interrested in - Shot my AW .308 yesterday in only t-shirt and after 45 rounds in prone position without brake you can feel a bit bruised on the shoulder - so doing that with a .300 WM would most likely be a pretty painful experience without brake and/or suppressor..
It shows that your Unaware to my question. i asked "what TYPES of bullets" does it take...meaning it could be more then just a 300 win, Someone answered that and said 338 lapau!!! Pay attention =)
I've heard many good things about this rifle for benchrest target shooting. After watching this video, I can tell that the muzzle brake makes the .300 Win Mag look like your shooting a .223 Rem because of how little the rifle moves.
That gun is sexy. me try and get me a .300 ultra mag so i can go shoot a bear :). Me work on my shot group with .308 right now. hope to get me a bear in canada from 500 yards.
No idea why this only has 3.5 stars atm. Nice footage with crisp audio. It may not have down-range view or grouping, but that wasn't what was advertised. 5 Stars.
I shoot Lapua Scenar 69 gr loaded Vitahvouri N135 21,8 gr - works well, I have another film here on youtube where I shot it @ 300 meters, 6 shots - have a look! ;)
Anyone know if this is restricted in canada or can this be bought with a PAL

kjsh987 3 years ago
600 yards, go for .308.. they are good up to at least 800-1000 yards. I shoot 600 meters with my .223 Remington with 69/75 grain HPBT bullets.
Beyond that, I'd say .338 Norma or Lapua Magnum is the best choice..
