@droid740 You're welcome. I figured it would help people understand what is in there and how it works. I was really nervous the first time I took the clutch and primary chain out of a motorcycle.
@droid740 I remembered to put it back in. I can't remember if I included that in the video or not. I made this video back when there was a 10 minute limit on videos, so I had to really cut it down.
thank you so much... I ve even subscribed your ch! Always wanted to know the mechanism first, before owning my ride on bullet. Hope you will always keep these videos on flow. You are true rider. THANKS
Hello, good evening sir' this is kannan, how are you doing.I'm fine here, I got it your information very fine, future eny information i keeb in tech with you.....!
@SREESAIKANNAN The clutch puller is a special tool I bought from Royal Enfield. You can ask a dealer for one, or buy one from their website. People are probably selling them on eBay as well.
@shaerkhan82 They have to be on the left to be sold in the US. The left-side conversion is a bit of a bodge, with a lot of slop in the linkages. Some people convert them back to right-side shifting to improve the shifting.
@hoohoohoblin alrt but what about the neutral finder does it still work any way Enfield have replaced the engine with a new unit-construction engine and it looks and sounds different but I still like the ones with older engine with separate gearbox and gear on right side. Anyway enjoy the ride.
You right! who knows what we would be riding in 15 years or so, we might be riding what the 1.5b Chinese were riding 15 years ago, bicycles! chuckle! and btw few friends and I are in that stage right now, tentatively arranging for 2013 an 8 months motorcycle trip to South America..... we are in our 50's have riding much of US and Mex... no. no on the RE but in my old faithful mule, a GS....The RE w/ a side car is just a garage Queen..Would be sacrifice soon to raise funds thou. Good Look
Yes it help a great deal specially without a manual, no only that but didn't know about the chain 1/2 inch play and also didn't know the torque spec. for the two nuts, "42 ft lbs", as well as the oil type if the machine has electric started, which my does, I was going to use the same type i drain which it was transmission fluids. Man! if you ever in the area, Austin, Tx. shoot email, beer is on me ! Agaain thanks! VF
@vaf300 You're welcome! Austin is over 2,000 miles away, or I'd take you up on the beer. I wish I had time to ride across the country, but I'll have to wait 15 or 20 years before I have the time. I hope motorcycles still exist then. Enjoy your Bullet!
You help a great deal......when I started reassemble the clucth pack after replacing the case oil seal..... Never saw the ball bearing ball come out so didn't know that one was there... So by watching your video and you point out the ball bearing...I was able indeed to know about the missing part, this after taking a part the assembly parts twice try to back track the problem and in search for the missing culprit.... Thank you very much!!!
will be much appreciated if you could perform the transmission switching from grease to oil upgrade which i badly needed as someone on the forum mentioned that this upgrade will smooth out the shifting alot , i've already bought two seal bearing for this upgrade but just not sure the procedure and really don't want to mess up my transmission, since you perform the job on this bike so well, i'm pretty sure you are more than capable to do this upgrade as well, thanks in advance.
@sssgeneral My bike needs a new kickstart pawl, and I was going to do a video on that and maybe switch the transmission to oil, but now it won't start, and I'm afraid there's something wrong with the piston or the head, so I'll have to do that job first. My bike was really abused by the original owner, and almost everything is worn out. It's a great opportunity for me to learn how the bike works, but some days I just want to go for a ride.
Thanks anyway, I am a member of a very good Royal Enfield forum over here in the UK, so will give them a try. Keep up the good work and keep posting. Ride Safe
nice vid HOHO, Have you any idea what threads are in the 3 clutch outer holding bolts? I was thinking of making my own clutch hub puller off-er and would need to bolt it up using those 3 bolts with a large centre bolt to do the pushing, if you get what I mean, cheers.
@notwocdivad I don't know what size they are. I looked in the manual, but it doesn't say, and I've already put the bike back together. I wish I could help. It should be pretty easy for you to pop the cover off and remove one of the bolts to check, or I bet someone in one of the online Royal Enfield forums could tell you exactly what size they are.
@bangalorebobbel You're welcome. It was hard to get it all into 10 minutes of video. Changing the clutch is really easy. Changing the primary chain on a Royal Enfield isn't too hard either, with the right tools.
@hoohoohoblin yes it looks totally easy how U r doing it ... but it may be something different in case I try to do it ... ;-)) The 10 Minutes of the video reflect how many minutes real time for that job - 30, or more?
btw, just fyi: the 10 minutes limit of YouTube seems to be changed now up to 15 minutes with the standard upload function, and I saw informations concerning a java uploader program which allows You to upload even bigger files.
@bangalorebobbel It took me a lot longer than 10 minutes to do it. A person who had never done it before could replace the primary and clutch in half a day. I had to stop after taking it apart and order a new Royal Enfield motorcycle clutch hub and basket to be delivered in the mail, so the job took me a month to do. I bought a balanced and blueprinted hub from Nfieldgear, and it works great. Thanks for letting me know about the 15 minute limit. It was hard to get everything into 10 minutes.
@hoohoohoblin wow, one full month ... that explains why Your T-shirt colour changed in the video ... ;-) So I am praying that I find always a RE garage nearby in case I have any problems with clutch or p-chain ... ;-)))
Thank's once again for giving me the info to help me know what to do w/my bullet. Your videos have been very helpful as well your reply's.

This video helped chill out about opening up my bikes covers and removing pegs/shifters etc. Thanks for that! I was understandably a bit nervous...
