After I flied United from HKG to Lax in 1997, I vow I'll never fly with the 'friendly sky' again. Right now, when I fly to North America, EVA Air, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airline and Korean Air are my choices.
Governor Spitzer was a class act, I am thrilled that he had something to do with Aviation. What airlines are you referring to with the 3+ hour delay on the actual aircraft? Maybe the Jetblue fluke at JFK? They can delay you all you want at the airport, and if conditions are unsafe, they may have to keep you on the ground in the jet. (No open jetways) It is called a "ground hold" which can be due to departure weather, or destination weather. If your arrival airport is closed, you CANNOT depart.
I recently had a 3 hr. layover in Philly for a connecting flight to London. My seat's recline feature was broken. I was upright in coach the entire time w/ the seat in front of me reclined back. It was a nightmare. I was offered a free drink for my "inconvenience". USAir...Useless air...U.S. Scare...Beware.
as far as i kno usair has been terrible in service. my dad works for usair and has people constantly screaming and spiting. i think every airline is a "nightmare".
I know, so as European Airlines like KLM, Lufthansa, Martinair, B.A.W, SAS, LOT, MALEV, IBERIA, even Aeroflot is better than most North Americans, in service.
Stay away from Air Canada! but Westjet and Transat are decent.
