Dickinson sucks live alot of the time, actually. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan, but he's always sounding like he's out of breath, and alot of the time he doesn't even try to hit the right pitch. LaBrie has a waay better live voice.
I know, I saw Iron Maiden live about a year ago.. AND IT WAS INCREDIBLE, Bruce's voice that night was actually better than I've heard elsewhere, like on DVDs and live albums and such.. But aside from that, he had energy. That made it all worthwhile. He made the show just awesome and exciting, jumping onto platforms and doing that "Scream for me Winnipeg!!" thing... LaBrie has the awesome live voice, Dickinson has the stage presence. They're both awesome.

I saw DT in Helsinki a couple of months ago. Incredible band! Funny thing happened in the beginning of this song, when James kinda messed up the lyrics at "dreams are shaking set sirens wake..." part. He nailed the second line though. Best gig ever, even better than Rush's Snakes and Arrows Tour in Helsinki!

Uhh.. No they don't. Or rather it depends on taste. They get more stable and dependable yet at the same time range decreases and the youthful easyness and overall éxtreme vocal ability decreases..
LaBrie is most certainly back in terms of range, but it sounds like he's holding back for fear of rupturing his vocal folds again. Plus he uses the widest vibrato I've ever heard. It sounds like the sopranos in a church choir. I hope that he gets more comfortable as the next few months roll by. I don't like the solos here. They seem irrational and sloppy. The original tunes on Images and Words were what turned me into a Dream Theater worshipper.
Finally they are back to play this beautiful song!!! LaBrie sings well but still far from the way he performed in the early days.. check the '92 video of surrounded
