Ich habe eine Frage. In wie weit kann man solche Fundsachen restaurieren?Bekommt man den Rost und Dreck überhaupt noch schonend ab?

@1mn1990 bei schusswaffen hab ich zwar keine erfahrung, aber bei dolchen, äxten etc genügt ein bisschen bürsten (stahlbürste fürs grobe, messing fürs feine). man bürstet den roten rost ab, lässt den schwarzen rost dran(brünierung) und streicht wachs oder öl drüber, klingen muss man manchmal nachschleifen.

Get out some steel wool oil, and hoppies gun cleaner, strip the hole thing and clean, then reassemble, and i guarantee that thing will work

The firearm is sitting at the bottom of a lake that is fresh water and doesn't have as much oxygen in it. So the firearm is just sitting undisturbed for all these years and all the fresh water really did to it was remove the paint, it would be totally gone and rusted away if it were to be sitting in moving water or salt water for all these years but luckily it wasn't and now that piece of history was saved. @pokemonjunky55 Äh, NEIN! Jedenfalls nicht, wenn man Wert auf Gesicht und Hände legt. Im Lauf sind sogenannte "Züge", die das Projektil mit Rotation versehen. Sind die nicht blank und sauber, geht's in den Gefahrenbereich. Selbst WENN alle Teile jemals wieder gangbar zu machen WÄREN, eine 9 mm Ladung hat durchaus genug Energie, die MP zu zerfetzen. 1955 aus dem See geholt... Vielleicht. Aber auch das hätte Ich nicht ausprobiert :) Das ist Militärschrott/ ein Zeitzeugnis, wenn auch ein schönes!

Amazing find,lucky it landed in mud,got coated and spent all those years in an anerobic environment,otherwise it would have turned to silt,even more amazing,the mags survived.I wonder what the story behind it being there is,was it thrown there by a soldier in retreat trying to make himself look live a civillian?was it thrown there by allied soldiers after capturing an axis soldier?we'll never know.I would love to go hunting for this stuff,there must still be tons on what was the eastern front

My grandpa always talks good about the German soldiers though. Always tells us stories of how brave they were and that they were very good soldiers. You say your grandpa was a nazi, but just because he fought for the Germans doesnt mean he was a Nazi and anti semitic.
