Disneyland Matterhorn, left side

Man, the only thing that sucks for me on rides like this is that I have to take my glasses off beforehand to keep them safe, therefore I don't see everything to the fullest, it's still fun, but everything's just a big mess of blurry shapes :/ ...d*mn being visually impaired! lol but I never paid attention to left and right sides...totally going to "explore the options" next time I'm there XD

@thekingfd The Left side has a drop of about 6 feet and seems to go just a tad faster. The Right side is a few seconds longer.

@thekingfd the left side got 10 mph faster then the right one, but the right one is 30 seconds longer, and the left has tighter turns and faster speeds and bigger drops!

The abominable snowman always has scared me. It did in the Disneyland Fun sing alongs and it still kind of gets me today, even when I know it's coming!

Next time, make sure the seatbelt is tight. We've taken our daughter on this since she was 4 and have never had a problem. If you can't get it snug enough, ask a CM to help you. They won't send you if you let them know there is a problem.

the beginning instructeions when you get in the ride is always the same. "keep your hands and arms inside the bobsled (log or any other kind of transportation) and stay seated until the thing you're riding in comes to a complete stop." I think that's hilarious.

I keep forgetting that they'res more than one abominable snowman (yeti) on this ride.

HAHA thanks 4 posting this. Last year me and 3 of my friends went to disneyland and got in line for this ride and we were ready to go and then it broke and they said come back in an hour and when we did it was a 3 hour wait. i was so pissed haha neways thanks again!

what happens if you dropped that camera, struck someone, and caused that person to get hurt, either causing a minor scratch, or a head concussion? You know who's responsible? Certainly not Disney, as they are doing their best to make sure the safety restraints/seat belts and everything are working. A cell phone flying off a roller coaster, and onto the ground can cause some serious damage. "Please keep all hands and arms inside the vehicle."

Are we playing "Worst Case Scenario"? The camera has a strap which fits your hand quite snugly and the chances of it being dropped are virtually nil. About the same, with an experienced videographer (which, BTW, my husband is) as getting hurt by a ride malfunctioning. Cell phones are another matter and I'm sure they fall out of pockets all the time since the CMs find a stack every day. But, so far, NOBODY has been hit and hurt by one. I'm not really sure why this is such a bug up your butt....

There's a good reason for no Flash or lights - they're distracting. But, pray tell, why do you say there's a good reason for not video taping? Did I distract anyone? Diminish the ride experience for anyone? If I try to sell footage, the Disney lawyers would be on me like white on rice. No, IMO, video taping withOUT your light is perfectly fine. Apparently it's ok with CMs because nobody has ever said anything to us about it.

I was gonna write an article about why...but then I stopped and realized how stupid this argument would be. People at Disneyland have disrespected rules, and have been seriously hurt and/or died because of that (see the People Mover incidents). They don't say not to because they hate you. Hell, they love you for forking over $60 for entrance fees, and $3.00 each soda. Also, the human race tends to go "Gee, if that person can do it, so can I."

Next time head for the left side as fast as you can. It's worth the extra few minutes wait. The right side has a tad longer ride, but the left one has a better ride, IMHO :)
