  • rok n roll, why you so cool

  • LED ZEPPELIN need anymore be said !

  • i heard a bootleg of this same recording in the mid 90's. this one much cleaner. great post!!!

  • I just keep getting older, and the older I get, the more I love Zepp.

  • This is awesome. Thanks for posting!

  • wtf happened to the sound @ 1:50?!

  • @yousaiditzero if you were to find any other version it is imcomplete, this version is completed from a crappy audience recording of the same show...

  • @Rocky54167 Can you please send me the tabs! This is amazing!

  • @yousaiditzero Uummm... did you read the description directly below the video? Pretty much explains everything!

  • @MAXVelo1 Ohh! Forgot to read the all important description...so sorry! I guess I just figure when people post stuff on You Tube, it's worth listening to from beginning to end...my bad!!

  • @yousaiditzero Jimmy rocked the wah back on the whole band lol..

  • HOW TO PLAY GUITAR

  • Zep greatest band that ever WALKED THE EARTH.

  • sound sucks. performance all da money.

  • thats all lot of distortion for page

  • Behind everything good Beck did in the 60's stood Page the mastermind.

  • Am I dead. Or may the blue golden lights flash like sun light in my eyees! Fuck it it is too hard to tell me what Jimmy Page is at....

  • Where you won't get a lemon, at Toyota of Orange... for those outside California, this is a car dealer comercial.

  • i call dis not fkn live!!!!!

  • Tab?!

  • That opening Riff must be banned in china....so heavy and groovy

  • This is completely new in 1969, remember this was the era of hippies and flower power. Then LZ came along and BOOOOOOOM!! ...and they took the world by storm! Fuckin magic!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 Nah, the Jeff Beck group already beat Zeppelin in 68 ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @coltsuperocean10 True that man. They totally blew those hippies out of the water!

  • Great slide work....whoa...

  • Bass porn

  • Can you say "The Black Keys"??? sounds similar. Black keys are cool

  • @Ladsejg Yeah these song both use the blues scale, you talking about I Got Mine?, heavy tune don't hear much of the Keys in Britain...

  • Tabs please!

  • wait! If we want the tabs we message Robert Plant?!

  • @acecase01 Shouldn't we message Jimmy Page? Just saying...

  • @beatlezrawesome Yeah I know. I was questioning somebody elses reasoning. They had said that and I was asking why Robert Plant.

  • I've heard a lot of Zeppelin covers over the years and many are good, BUT they just ain't as good as these guys. Tool for example did a great cover of No Quarter.

It just didn't have the soul of the song like these 4 did it.

  • that guitar was sexually abused!!!!!!

  • can i see those tabs please?:) this is a sexy song

  • man that intro is sexy <333

  • This is just the best song in the history. I have no words...

  • I posted a video response of how to play the intro on bass, guitar tabs should be the same. :)

  • can i have the tab to this song pls

  • Man I love that greasy way he plays, anyone who plays knows what im saying, anyone who want its cleaner has no soul.....

  • they should play the intro as a seperate song, thats my fav part

  • @thenobs123 It's the psychedelic version of "Smoke Stack Lightning". It's what inspired the "Black Dog" riff, actually!

  • HEAVY.

  • hey can i have the tabs to this song i wana learn to play this intro its fukin intense

  • BEST INTRO!

  • WOW, is it just me or does page sound a LOT like dan auerbach (black keys) in their earlier albums? (like thickfreakness) raw-fucking-emotion. Correction: dan auerbach sounds like page in this song - gotta give due respect.

    god damn i love music.

  • @corsair762blacksheep figure it out ? its not that hard....

  • @socrates1818 yeah I think you overstate the case just a bit .Wheres your album hotshot ?

  • @Cincinnatus1869 Dont worry about my stuff, just keep your eyes and ears open. I've been a Zep fan but in about a hour of checking things out I was amazed at how many of their 'songs' were rip offs. Just take a few min I'm sure you'll find the same thing

  • @socrates1818 well who in the world doesnt know where the songs came from ? They are not obscure songs . Do you think that their musician peers , who heaped praise upon them at every turn , didn't know where these songs came from ? Now every fool who watches some youtube vid about LZ and plagiarism acts like its some revelation , and pretend to be offended.Anyone who says these guys are 'rip off artists has apparently only heard less than 10 percent of the bands catalogue

  • gannable.....you cant just say Page played with power and what have you ,,,,,, so did the other 3 members ,,,

  • @corsair762blacksheep i tabbed them out after and i message them to u if u ask

  • smokestack lightning. soundgarden did it too

  • Damn, I think I'll cover this

  • i think the begining is smokestack lightning howlin wolf

  • None the less though amazing! Were talking RockNRoll RIGHT HERE, At its BEST!

  • hey its howling wolf killing floor zeppelin style... funny how they call it the lemon song hahaha :)

  • quality ! where did u find this ?

  • if Sabbath is George Foreman , big , plodding powerful and a bit scary , Zeppeilin Is Muhammed Ali , slick , smart , technically brilliant ,strong and just a bit arrogant . Ultimately , Ali will win the fight .But both are forces to be reckoned with

  • I wish Page would have kept using his tele live. it fits so well with roberts voice (just listen when robert starts singing at 0:59) he said he used the les paul live because it was relaible. but listening to the tone on led zeppelin 2, it sounds like the majority of the electric guitar work is the tele. i think that he started using the les paul alot on the fourth album till about Physical. but he was still using the tele pretty libarally.

  • EVERYBODY TAKE A BOW TO ONE FUCKIN SICK GUITARIST, IM BAKED AND AMAZED

  • i can hear different framents that ended up being separate tracks on Zep I....not sure what the time sequence went(was this concert pre "Zep II"?) i can hear snippets of good times bad times/you shook me/how many more times

  • I never thought my second fave song of all time could get even better! The intro jam is awesome, almost going into Good Times Bad Times, but not and then 0:57 is insane!!!! HARMONIZE!!!!!!!!

(Second fave after S.I.B.L.Y, Zeppeheads should know what i mean by that!)

  • I never thought my 2nd fave song of all time could get even better! I love the intro song, especially 0:57 where Pagey and Plant are AS ONE!!!!

(Second after S.I.B.L.Y, Zeppheads will know what I mean by that acronym)

  • turn jimmy down and john up

  • are there tabs for the intro song?

  • fucking awesome! thanks for posting =)

  • I have the entire 3 CD box set of this show and the other that came with it. Best damn boot I've ever owned without a doubt. Page plays absolutely brilliantly. Their version of How Many More Times is best thing Zep ever did. It just goes on and on.

  • @patrickmichels where you get it and whats it called???

  • Wicked wild Telecaster

  • i call this sex blues

  • Wow I didn't know they were playing when I was 3. lol. Damn they are old but the greatest.

  • Is the tab for this live recording or the studio recording?

  • The solo is part You Shook Me and part Lemon Song. Also for the record this song is titled "Killing Floor" on The Dancing Avacodo LP.

  • @lemmonorange68 The song IS Killing Floor. I never understood why Zep changed the names of the cover songs.

  • @foxwilliammulderx I know. I guess it makes it look like they wrote it. Even though everyone knows they ripped off Howlin' Wolf and Willie Dixon all the time.

  • @foxwilliammulderx Mozart said that "Good musicians borrow, great musicians steal" It's no secret that Zep did a little more than borrow song ideas, but this kind of thing in the blues format has been done long before Zep came along. Sweet home Chicago used to be Sweet Home Kokomo but each musician had their own version thus name change. It's funny if you look up Link Wray's music there is a song that has a riff almost note for note to be Moby Dick, makes me wonder about moby dick's origin*wink*

  • @Ph3nix11 keep in mind, it was only early zep that "borrowed" and at the time, the band were teenagers and early 20s.... thier managers are the ones who should be blamed for any "borrowing".. but the bigger picture is that the black musicians by the 1970s abandoned the blues and were into other styles of music..so if it were not for zep, stones, beatles and other "white" british bands, these black musicians wouldn't have gotten ANY recognition. THis rush to accuse page of stealing is wrong

  • @BeyondNeptune and in all honesty thats the nature of music: musicians take from other musicians. Its really not the negative thing people make it out to be since every musician has inevitably done it at one point or another.

  • @BeyondNeptune If anything, Howlinwolf was proud his music influenced an entire generation of British rockers. I'm surprised Wille Dixon sued.

  • Let's clear this up. Jimmy was an incredible guitarist in the studio, but on stage, he was never sober enough to play as cleanly as he could probably play. If you don't think that he's sloppy listen to most live Heartbreaker solos after 1972 or so. Lots of mistakes with a boatload of accidental open strings. Ever see those pics of him backstage with a bottle of Jack in one hand and a joint in the other? He wasn't exactly in prime shape to be performing, but he sure as hell performed.

  • @SqueezeMyLemon68 bow to him

  • @SqueezeMyLemon68 ummmm No????? have you seen the royal albert hall? have you heard the bbc sessions?? have you heard HTWW? you heard TSRTS concert??? yeah he was buzzed in most of them but that sloppiness is part of his style. Jimmy Page live is what makes Zeppelin Zeppelin. No Jimmy page live is when he's at his best.. but in the late 70's.. yeah he was god aful

  • @tMattLZ And he wasn't even sloppy between '68 till about '73.

  • @SqueezeMyLemon68 Much as I worship the legend that is JIMMY PAGE, I have to confess, Eddie Van Halen said exactly the same thing. Jimmy Page was undisciplined on stage. In the studio he made his name.

  • @BertieWooster7137 disagree man HE WAS ALWAYS GOOD ON STAGE

  • @BertieWooster7137 i think the raw grittyness and sloppiness of page on stage is what made him so fantastic. i hate hearing technically perfect guitar playing, it doesn't have any emotion to me. it was raw, it was bluesy, it was rock and roll and it was amazing.

  • @BertieWooster7137 I've been listening to zep for a long time now I think having both Pages: precision studio and uncontrolled uninhibited out of his mind live Page are both fantastic and a blessing

  • @vspeed939 I totally motherfucking agree with you!!!!

  • @BertieWooster7137 who cares what eddie van halen says/said? "discipline" is for mathemeticians and businessmen.

  • @multiviajes

    don't kid yourself

discipline is also for the woodshed. and these cats ALL spend mad time learning how to play.

then they were smart enough to know that the recipe isn't the cooking.

    they got cooking!

but without that prep work, these guys would sound like some random open mic jam.

  • not lemon song

  • Hi, could you please send me the guitar tabs ?? That would be great ! What boot' is it from ?

    Thx, B.

  • lol Jimmy page...sloppy wow what a stupid thing to say, seeing how he was the go to session guitarist over jeff Beck and eric clapton when page and them both were in the yardbirds and page played bass for a while in that band and this song was not created by led zeppelin but by "the band of joy" Which Robert plant and John Bonham were both in. lol Plant was kicked out of college for playing this song on campus. Im 16 and ive been so inspired by led zeppelin and jimmy pages guitar playing

  • id rather hear someone play sloppy but with power and emotion as opposed to a perfect technical player who is BORING. Page plays with power, emotion, and soul something severely lacking in these technical wizards

  • @gannable dude were you at this recording? sloppy???? who's to say they weren't exhausted...? nobody thinks of that... everyone always has negative comments to add. give it up douche bag

  • @jessyjames007 wow talk about poor reading comprehension, immaturity and low intelligence. i was actually complementing PAge. What is your IQ???? forrest gump level?

  • @gannable dude were you at this recording? sloppy???? who's to say they weren't exhausted...? nobody thinks of that... everyone always has negative comments to add. give it up douche bag

  • @gannable

    +1

  • @gannable you're right but led zeppelin played extremely technically, that is, all four of them were perfectly in sinc, something that takes technical mastery. This is technical rock at its best, bru

  • @gannable nail head BANG

  • @gannable That's what real music is, but you only listen to Led Zeppelin and haven't ever done anything original with yourself in your life, so shut the fuck up with this stupid incoherent rambling

  • @itachi456789 LOL, ok little boy

  • @gannable That's right you old bastard, because music isn't completely subjective anyways, even if there's obvious talent involved.

  • @gannable even the riffs page stole, he put a unique twist/sound to em. Fuck man even JPJ with the dazed and confused bass riff. even though he took it from Jake Holmes.. I truly Have Led in my blood. \m/

  • @420GuitarShredder BORROWED, NOT STOLE.

  • @jumpinjoe88 yeah i mean not giving the guy any credit b4 they got sued and shit is deff borrowed lol...naw it was stolen and they got sued multiple times for it ..lost everytime

  • ther`ye doing it that well,it does`nt even look like they`re moving!!..MAMMOTH SONG.

  • This is the sickest intro ever. That's some SLUTTY shit. Sounds like a whore grooving down the street with 1 hand on her hip & swinging her purse. In fact, I was playing this segment on my Strat & I was SO into it, I broke my neck pickup. I was smacking my palm on the strings on that bitching hesitation beat which comes after the 1st twin notes. You know, "daw-daw... chunk!" Yeah, I shorted out my pickup coming down too hard w/my palm on the "chunk"! Playing this intro was worth the $180 repair.

  • Fucking hell

This does a great job readdressing my mind after having to sive through hours of justin bieber and jonas brothers videos to find satanic subliminal messages, in an attempt to show the world that they are attempting to destroy the human soul

  • do you have the tabs for bass? that'd be pretty fucking kick ass

  • Listen to the rythm section part... So amazing, this sound is so huge. If only, I was born in those years, Led Zep would blow my mind !

  • @Rocky54167 Hey could you please send me the tabs? that would be awesome thanks!

  • dude, this may be dirty and off tempo at times, but this is how he sounds on drugs. HOly crap, thats really good for being on drugs.

  • tab try

  • I think he was only sloppy when he was smacked out of his head. You can't call something like 'White Summer/Black Mountainside' sloppy. Page: The hardest working guitarist in the world.

  • yea complain but lets see write a song better than this

  • I always liked this version. The medley with 'Evil" at the beginning was really cool. So Rocky, did you tab this version or the album version?

  • can you send me the tabs for the intro

  • if someone has the tab can they send it to me for the intro

  • como busco estoo en el ares

  • Another asshole. this is a video site.

  • Hey asshole. This is supposed to be a VIDEO channel.

  • Stupenda O.O ... is the best version I ever heard of this song... excellent!!

  • u say sloppy i say stoned u say he sucks i say u all jealous u say fuck u i say fuck u too lol

  • yup, yup. You always know great hard rock as soon as you hear that kick-ass,headcutting intro.LEDZEPPELIN

  • god i love zeppelin

  • love how robert mimicks jimmy's guitar!!

  • The intro riff is taken from Howlin Wolfs Smokestack lightning from his Psychedelic album.

  • Yeah baby, the tabs are ready just back from the lab after picking them up yesterday, they are amazingly clean, just as long as you only take one & wait3hrs for each one after.

  • @ampegged so my tabs werent good enough

  • @Rocky54167 where can i get the tab?

  • @Rocky54167 Do you know where I can find a version of this song with the additional minute and a half in the beggining? Can't find it on iTunes.

  • Hi,

This show is one of Zep's greatest... What boot is it form ? (Devil's Blues, Collage, Jimmy Page XP ?)

There are few pix of this show, do you know which guitar has been used during this one ? #1 LP or the Telecaster ? Think Jimmy switched to the LP few time before this set... (do you know what amp was used ? I don't believe he was playing on Marshalls at the Time) [ask many questions ^^]

Could you please give me the whole tab of the song ? (i don't believe i'd play it all ! ^^)

    Thx !!

    B.

  • @444Sal444 - I agree ... Nevertheless; having a map gets you to your destination quicker . It's just another learning tool ... It's interesting to see how others utilize notes & techniques ... Use them all ...

  • Legends playin right here in Cali

  • the opening riff is a rip of a howlin wolf song...

  • Still fails to cease to amaze me...i love it

  • not the filmore in detroit is it?

  • Nope, they mean the Fillmore East in NYC. But Zeppelin has done a string of shows in the Grande Ballroom in '67, and a couple in the Detroit Olympia. It's too bad Detroit's not so much a rock town anymore....Flint resident here. Best we had was The Who I think, he drove a car through someone's house and into their pool and subsequently got the band banned from the city.

  • @demravager

This show is at the Fillmore West in SF ;)
