What does everyone care about that taxes... If you win the House for $50, do a quick "Fire Sale" and sell it for $750,000 if it was truely appraised at $1,350,000 million then Half that price should find some buyers, then on your taxes it will be treated as a capital loss on Schedule D for around $600, that should more then cover your taxes on the winnings plus give you $750,000 in your pocket for $50 ticket
I believe folks that wondered how much taxes were planned to occupy the home if won. I also wondered about the taxes and talked w/ the home owner during the raffle.
I live the MD area and YES -- houses this nice do sell for around $1 million --- As to being totally free --- yes OF COURSE you have to pay the taxes - which is a FEDERAL law and the people that are holding the drawing can't get around that ... It would be the same if you won $1 million in Vegas at the tables, you still gotta pay your taxes....
Finally some video and photos that show how nice this house really is. I saw it when they had the open house. With the 2-acres of land, the house is worth $1M+.
great job! Very nice of you to donate your services to the raffle. It was lacking some better info on the house! Now maybe enough people will buy tickets so we can pick a winner. (Oh...p.s. The winning ticket has already been sold! To me! WOOHOO!
How can they afford to do this????

It would be amazing to get this house as close as it is to about everything in Maryland. Plus it would make life so much easier.

What a boring house. If the raffle was for a 2-story Loft apartment in the Upper East side, I'd take that!

It's a great way to get top dollar for your property.

Does anyone really think this home is really worth anything close to $1,350,000?
