The whole thing with Afro Blue this season really highlighted the ongoing hypocrisy of the judges. To groups like Afro Blue, who are quite innovative and unique, they say "Oh you shouldn't put so much of a spin on the song, but put a little." And the results were half hearted, because Afro Blue couldn't get fully into it. But to groups like the Aires, who arrange their songs EXACTLY like the originals, they don't complain about the lack of originality and say "Great! You're so "fun to watch"."

They chose theatrics and entertainment over skill. What sucks is that the judges suggested Afro Blue to change what they were originally doing. Their suggestions messed them up. Actually mrduckbear11.....i quite disagree. I wouldn't have liked it as much if Kristie had sang the lead on this song. They made that decision very carefully and very much on purpose. Kristie's voice is much too gospel and soulful for this song while Danielle's voice was perfect for it because she has a thinner, brighter sound that lends itself better to pop songs like this and the janet jackson medley they did. Absolutely the appropriate lead choice and she was amazing. By the way, A+! Not a B

IKR @ 1992HappyFeet & @ Qichar. I watch the SingOff EVERY WEEK JUST to hear AFRO-BLUE!! I don't feel like any other group on this season is even on their level. This group is so good it's almost sickening!!! It's an amazingly sensual experience and I'm sure Sean Stockman is taking therapy after each of their performances. Afro-Blue is a phenomenon!

I can't believe this group. I lost count of how many times I've replayed this video. Somehow their sound is smooth and warm while being incredibly accurate at the same time. I don't know how they keep their individual parts so solid in the midst of everything else that is going on. Their jazz sound reminds me of when I was little and I wanted to run out and get one of those expensive stereos with big volume knobs because I wanted to play a song over and over again get lost in the harmonies.

Of all of the performances of all the groups of all the seasons of The Sing-Off, this is my single most all-time favorite performance. The judges were perhaps concerned that Afro-Blue may not accessible by everyone, but I sure accessed this! I'm a 60-year-old white guy from the Rocky Mountains, and I think this is a magnificent performance by an extraordinary group of young singers. They are now my favorite Sing-Off group ever, and I hope they win this year!

I always wonder what kind of arrangements they would have given us had they NOT been warned about the complexity of their arrangements. I remember, hearing this the first time and being confused but fascinated at the same time. I don't know about some folk, but I like it when my musical ear is pushed. People act like what they've produced these past few weeks is ALL they can produce. NO, THEY'VE BEEN RESTRICTED (for your sake ironically).

AB's signature sound is MUCH more than what you hear.

7. Deliah: Awesome Ballads but I feel like that may be all they can do really well. They struggle on up tempo songs

But All these groups are great I mean 10 times better than American Idol.

I have watched all three seasons, every episode, and Afro Blue is BY FAR the best group to appear on the sing off, including the two previous winners.

Their stuff is so amazing, its like going to see a GREAT Broadway musical, like the first time I saw DreamGirls on Broadway. I walked out of the theatre that night feeling like I had just experienced something out of this world, and thats the same feeling I get listening to Afro Blue ... they are incredible!

@fish0matic My sentiments exactly! Game, set, match. There is no way any group could hang with them. So rich and full, it's hard to believe they hadn't had this arrangement commissioned years ago and polished it for a year. Technically perfect, and fun, even if you don't like jazz. They keep it on earth, unlike groups like Take 6, who try to kill your brain with complex jazz chords that take away from the root of the song. If I ran a recording studio I would be signing them right now.
