Amazing!!! looking forward to see these proposed dynamic buildings to be standing in dubai in the years to come. The building were made even more dramatic through enya's song. :) thanks so much for sharing this video.
Cool and amazing. I never expected that this kind would really exists. How I wish I could really see this in person. Terrific and impressive indeed. I also like the music used as its background music. It suits well with the architecture.
from an architects point of view its possible but from an engineering point of view this kind of a building can not be built because most civil engineering structures are at an equilibrium and having it rotate can make it really unstable especially if you look at the structure of it and good luck finding a material that can deform with these forces IMPOSSIBLE!
David Fisher one word YOU ARE GENIUS .. YOU HAVE MY FULL ADMIRATION .. It's going to be AMAZIIING and breath taking .. a changing point in the architecture field .. can't wait to be inside one of these buildings :D :D :D ..
Really cool until a bird decides to have a sit down on one of the rotating tops and before you know it *SPLAT* the guy downstairs has dead bird guts and feathers decorated on his windows...
@borets42 Just projected, however I doubt it will be built any time soon. The architect is kinda questionable, and there are still many unanswered questions, like how will any plumbing be able to rotate and stay reliable. it's sounds more like just an idea right now. It's not a realistic goal.
talk talk talk... let's see some real buildings going up. where's the prototype? someone please point me at some real photos of an actual factory or building being constructed.
@thunderbird5898 you will wait for the passage to fit the door and jump...haha. you know what...this design seemed impossible. beautiful design is not a true architecture if the planning is poor. its merely an ART.
lol reallii, i just finished school last year, i wanna do architecture this year at uni, but i don't think australian uni's are that good for architecture, they specialise in science more, i might have to move to America lolz!! i hope one day, i can leave a legacy to the generations of the future, wif a fine and magnificent public building! ill build it in Sydney Australia =P my home-town!
hmmm there are buildings in Sydney too, wif full 360o rotating levels, like Sydney AMP tower, built in the 1970's ... but the outside of the building doesn't change..just the levels inside!
A bold new innovation in building design. I can't wait to see the final product! There have been rotating houses built before... Why not a building as well?!
...the real question is ....how quiet/seemless is the transformation...it will most certainly NOT be vibration free...let alone cumulitavely distructive to its' foundation...and a maintainance nightmare...although maybe job security to the design firm.hmmmmm
@000ITURBE0000 El movimiento rotatorio es bien lento. Es difícil marearse. Hay edificios existentes desde principios del siglo XX que giran y siempre lo hacen lentamente. No es un carrusel.
I don't think this. It's your opinion. I think, that building will still unique. And spin also depend on wind. You know that building is also a kind of wind-power installation. So it is very environmentally friendly.
No offense but the whole architecture is extravagant and initially made to attract the attention of people around the world. I'm sorry to say that's what dubai is yearing for these days priority wise.

Ich frage mich, ob die rotierenden Massen den Turm wie einen Kreisel stabilisieren, oder zusätzliche Torsion auf den tragenden Kern bringen.
Aber dessen ungeachtet sieht es verdammt eindrucksvoll aus!

@thunderbird5898 probably through a central, sturdy, shaft (giggity)
ToAsTy42o 1 year ago
@thunderbird5898 Most likely through an elevator inside a hollow core in it's center.. I don't know to be honest.
ImmortalDragon 1 year ago
@thunderbird5898 There is a central core that is static for the elevators, pipes, etc.
aqula22 9 months ago
@thunderbird5898 A central shaft, about the pivot point.

Dubai has a bunch of money and sun and they don't produce any power with solar energy or have any green tech. It is a doomed place.

what they are doing in Dubai is fantastic but i can't help wonder why when their are so many poor people in the world.
Just goes to show the rich do not care to help the less fortunate, especially in middle eastern countries.
