  • @deallily Sharon Stone is mentally-ill, you cannot possibly take her serious.

but I've not find the lyric.

May be I have to go back Sichuan to find it out.

    By JP

  • I love big woks and the way women chop their vegitables in this video, in addition to the acoustics, very realistic depict of people's life. I used to share a lunch box of the big woks daily at high school and university in China. Watching this stirred up a lot feelings, about SiChuan, the Quake and how I am part of this world. My eyes well up with tears.

  • The girl in the video probably has O2 in her ??

It is good to be knowledgeable of this kind of things.

It could be weapon against racism; but not used to commit racism -:)

    haha ... kidding, kidding

  • yeah but because their environment in which they were living were different than Zhong Yuan area where most Han Chinese lived, thus they adapted differently from Han ppl, therefore it results them to look a bit different from Han ppl now

  • nice song

  • The guy is the best long distance runner in my class. He said folks back home spend 50% hunting! They're traditionally hunters.

  • One of my classmate in college is a Qiang. He looks like the girl in the video. But they speak mandarin-chinese.

  • i had a Qiang friend back in China too, yeah, she looks very different from Han Chinese

cuz before they were nomadic around China, and now they became one of China's minority

  • they have flat cheeks and taller narrow noses. however their skin is slighty darker.

  • yeah thats true

  • History told us Qiang & Han shared the source.

  • A Qiang minority teacher told us that the words sung in Sala are Qiang words with no meaning except to inspire dancing.

  • so you become master now!!! just enjoy this :) the comment what you wrote also have no meaning :))) peace!

  • Luo Shuang sang this during our traditional US and Chinese music exchange class at the middle school. The Qiang people were hit harder than any other minority group during the earthquake. The official numbers show that 10% of the Qiang died in the earthquake, but word among the Qiang is that at least 30% are still missing.

  • The Qiang ethnic minority of western Sichuan traditionally dances around the fire when they sing this song.

  • Sala (Traditional Qiang lyric & melody arr. by D.Liang & A.Washburn)

    Performed by Luo Shuang (罗霜)

if someone can specify the name of this dialect or language or translate in English or 日本語 please do

  • I'm afraid I never heard of it before, but thank you, most interesting

  • 2 thumbs up

  • i love her voice!

  • any one know what the lyric means?

  • this made me cry, so beautiful.

  • beautiful. :)

  • what languge is that?

  • Chinese I think

  • There's no way that' s Chinese.

  • it is Chinese, but not Mandarin

cuz Chinese as a language itself has around 56 different ethnic languages, and million dialacts. LOL

  • The blue-grey eyed beauty at 0:39 is also a reminder of the diversity of China. A descendant of a Tocharian people / Yue Chi tribes , maybe ? ( the easternmost speakers of an Indo-European language in antiquity and blue-eyed).

  • I wish more people on youtube had intelligent comments like you

  • my grandpa has blue-grey eyed like that young girl too, but he had passed away when i was young

  • I don't think it's correct to say it's Chinese. Think about the language of ethnic Korean in North eastern China. Would you say their language is Chinese? No it's definitely not. It should be called Korean. Chinese refers to the variety of dialect of 汉 people.

  • u r not Chinese for sure.

  • 羌族语makes more sense.

  • I feel deeply moved by this video, 加油!

  • What's that picture at the end mean? Did that singing girl die in the earthquake? That's so sad!!

  • They sent a picture of her to her mother, who was back home re-building their house that was destroyed in the earthquake.

  • no they send the family a picture of there daughter because the family is at home rebuilding the house and the daughter is at a relocated place for children to go to school

  • sexybeijingTV always rocks

Is English ok, because I cant speak Mandarine or other dialect sorry ^_^

I said that I like that girl, she is talented and pretty

  • oh lol

    yeah i agree, shes pretty

  • I feel sad that the earthquake struck so badly and people lost their homes or love ones

can you please translate what this song is about

    thank you !

  • yeah i feel the same way

sorry i cant tranlaste this song, because its not in Mandarin. Its in a Chinese minority ethnic's language

  • ok no problem, I just wonder what she is saying

  • It great to see beauty still survive in such a devastated area.

  • ah 峨眉山。

  • Why did the girl's portrait appear in a frame between some news paper? Does it mean............

  • no, the frame just the gift to her parents, you should check out the previous video.

  • no to protect the glass

  • Anyone know which phonetics make up the "wan berr" sound? I'm not familiar with any "ber" pinyin.

  • sounds like you're talking about 玩伴儿... playmates.. in that case the "berr" sound corresponds to 伴儿, and it's pronounced as "barr"... keep up the good work~~~~!

  • Ah, thanks a bunch! I thought it was something like that as our teacher is from Beijing so we learn things like 玩儿, 花儿,饭馆儿, etc. I just couldn't place it, thanks! Honestly, I'm surprised we haven't already learned 玩伴儿.

    This song is touching.

  • brave people, continue their lives after that disaster. 5 stars

  • I like this vid.

  • what does "sala" mean?

  • That was so awesome 5*.
