  • Oh no, shorter winters in Canada , what will they do with all their mukluks?

  • @StraightTalkProwess And the oils sands account for less that 0.1%

  • See everyone on the road below? They are all laughing at you.

  • This guy just straight up looks and talks like a but fucking faggot. Id love see him kill himself on webcam the day his trust fund runs out and he has to get a job in the oilsands ahahah

  • @nikamungus great comment

  • America's dirty little secret is that they keep using coal burning powerplants that pollute the atmosphere more than the Oilsands. China will become the largest producer of carbon emissions with their coal burning powerplants that they build every day to fuel their energy needs. I say fuck greenpeace, they only come bother us here in Alberta because we won't hang or shoot them lie in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria. Were just to nice in Canada to say "Fuck off"

  • @Deeman1236. well said im stuck in englang flat broke as soon as get job offer im otta here, fort muc here i come

  • i wonder largely where green peace thinks their fuel in thier vehicles or airplanes to get to these place they hate so much..comes from!!..lol..hippocrites..even their pretty hardhats and signage comes from the "dirty oil"

  • Do you guys really realize how small of a minority you guys are? If the news one day decided not to give you coverage, NOBODY but you small collection of people would care. Why not get it touch with the way the world is. Focus on actual problems in this world not a small blip on the radar

  • The oilsands are the flavour of the month for jobless hippies.

It's only a matter of time until these hippies realize that their protests are going nowhere and will, God willing, move elsewhere.

Maybe go crusading in Pakistan. Or China.

Why pick on Canada? Because it's easy and we won't exceute you for speaking your mind.

  • USA is pretty screwed if the oil in Canada is gone because they rely on Canada's oil to fuel their economy.

  • @aznxwanabe 60%

  • does not matter if you agree with these guys or not, they got some guts to hang off that bridge.

  • Next time, you guys should use some hand spun hemp rope instead of oil based nylon rope and harness. And oh yeah.. do us all a favour and suspend yourselves from your neck.

  • @mrryencoke great comment

  • @StraightTalkProwess cool comment

  • How is it socially destructive? Listen closely to his words, that part doesn't make sense.

He speaks of a safe, clean and renewable energy. But yet offers no suggestion on where we may find such a utopian fuel. Maybe greenpeace will pull it out of their ass for us, if they're so righteous.

  • @noftchks1 cool

  • One forth of Alberta's landscape? I had to play that back four times before I believed it. Does this hippie have any idea how big Alberta is?

I'd say that if we had oilsand under 1/4 of our province then let's go rip it up! Then the royalties would pay for my new 911 turbo!

  • @noftchks1 great comment

  • That's got to be the joke of the century...

    "global climate change"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You enviroturds have all been exposed for the sham artists you are. Either stop impeding the expanse and progress of the civilized world or be trampled under it. Perhaps, in time, the petroleum from your fossils will serve as the fuel in someone's SUV.

  • 1/4, the deposit is only 1/18 of alberta, and its taken 30 years to mine 2% of that lol

  • Mike Hudema is a huge media hungry moron. Loves oil too.

  • Most of us canadians are just hypocrits...we point our fingers at the usa and say they are greedy.....they will do anything to make a buck....well it appears to me that we are willing to sacrifice a large part of our country so we can have a strong dollar......atleast for now

  • Big Business has all the controls and Government regulates thier needs and this make for local decision makers a cayous structure. This is mega project is on Cree, Dene and Slavey Terrritory, to name a few Indigenous Nations effected by this project on a daily basis. Industrial Generating Companies need to regulated by the people most effected by their endless greed for control. control?!

  • My friend swears that he has seen this guy at the roost.

  • Donations made to Greenpeace Canada are not tax deductible

  • Virtually everything in out lives is produce with petroleum products. And you little Toyota prius causes more pollution to produce then a gas or diesel will ever create in production and operation in the life span of a normal vehicle. Sure it gets better fuel mileage, but what about all of those nasty chemicals in those batteries. Where will they end up?

  • Wow is that jacket fleece lined, are those nylon ropes holding those dudes up, are you wearing acrilic glasses, did you brush your teeth, are you taking video with a camera. What, all of those products are made with petroleum. This video could not be made possible with out oil.

  • Why don't you really give us facts. If I hear someone saying it costs 3 to 5 times bla and 2 barrels of water for one barrel of oil, this is no explanation and it will not get my support. What part of the process uses up water? (water that is not put back in the natural circle) Why? At least I can imagine why it is expensive because it does the opposite of gushing out of the earth. Please try to enlighten people! The other guys have to be afraid of facts!!

  • At least Green peace is trying to make a point! Jesus, would people stop whining about nylon jackets. If you don't want to take action to make this world a better place, then shut up. Sit and wait for the world to blow up why dont you.

  • Your a fucking idiot.

Nylon jacket, nylon jacket, nylon jacket.

    Fuck you.

  • I really wonder who sounds like an idiot right now.

  • True enough.

Welcome to Canada. I'm done dealing with ultra left wing "environmentalists". You people are essentially good for nothing. You accomplish nothing with the issues you do try and fight, which says allot about how the public feels about debating environmental "issues".

I bet you'd like nothing more then to bomb "Western Civilization" back to the 12th Century, wouldn't you?

  • Is it so wrong to take issue with a crappy source of energy that requires literally destroying everything in order to mine?

Its not good oil to begin with, its buried underneath virgin forest and beautiful land and it costs tons of money and time to get out.

Excuse me for saying that it sounds like a retarded waste of time and cash. I must be a treehugging fuckhead.

Screw your head on straight. We can synthesize petroleum for cheaper than we get it in the tar sands and still sleep at night.

  • You are a treehugging fuckhead. So hippies can now make synthetic oil out of what, water now? didnt know the worlds most inteligent minds missed this one but hippies have found a way to make oil out of thin air and keep costs down too......... Treehugging fuckhead

  • No I don't need to be welcomed into my own country but thank you. Although politics ties in strongly with environmental issues, I see it mainly as a scientific one that deals with facts and reality. What are you basing your very broad assumption on that environmentalists are good for nothing?

  • Environmentalists have lobbied for and succeeded in the protection of much forest area and ecological habitats. Environmentalists have made the changes possible inorder to protect the very fucking earth you are living on. I am not a hippie, but I know well enough that our economy and civilization is built on the natural resources of the planet, of which is in a balance. If we keep on fucking with this balance, shits going down. Fo SHO.

  • FUCK GREENPEACE. How do you expect for people to take you seriously when you wear nylon pants and materials that are similar. I mean jesus they are petroleum and oil byproducts so if you want people to talk you seriously walk around in animal skins or better yet clothes made out of leaves which is all natural then maybe people will actually take you seriously. In regards to the syncrude incident i hope greenpeace get hit hard so they will learn that they are are not above the law.

  • I think you should shut up.

  • I understand and respect your point of view and the video does make some valid points and statements. But in my opinion greenpeace is just concerned with what they want the public to see and don't talk about the steps that the oilsands are taking to reclaim the land that they have mined.

  • @odarusslayer cool

  • I agree with putting an end to our earths destruction. I'd rather live without a vehicle in a community that is sustainable than see the earth being destoryed for others to make money.

  • Greenpeace is fucking stupid. End of story.

Theres always SOMETHING to bitch about with them. I swear to fuck they need to just die. Period.

  • If you stop bitching then the world would be a greener place.

  • i work there and see the soil that are striped are put back and trees planted and grass the Fox's wolfs kiotes deer moose there all there and syncrude buffalo KEEP THE BLACK GOLD FLOW'N

  • @thirstyhank cool

  • no its outright truth, I wonder how many hippie creeps have bothered to see the beautiful fields of grass and vegetation including trees and shrubbery for wildlife food that is there now in the reclaimed area. Have you seen the wild animals that have moved in to that area now that have never been there? Probably not, nobody shows that part.

  • Ravish over1/4 of the provinces landscape? How big does this idiot want people to believe that project is. The Oilsands are more of a clean up project. That area was nothing but a useless wasteland regardless of the bullshit that is peddled about it

  • Outright lies from you there.

  • HOW??? By using your hippie hug a tree ideology how is it not a clean up project? If you have a pile of oil soaked sand and a pile of clean sand which one is more toxic?..................... fucking retard

  • Wow. seriously, get educated. You'd do the world a favour. Oil sands is a naturally occuring mixture of sand or clay, its not toxic. Plus it's 60 metres deep.

  • Get em hippies GET EM!!!

  • --his jacket is nylon as are the climbing ropes---products made from oil or natural gas

  • the sand is contaminated with oil -- the process cleans the oil out of the sand - then the oil free sand is put back , benefiting the enviroment

  • Greenpeace itself is probably the biggest threat to our environment because they act as demagogues instilling fear and spreading misinformation instead of being informed people working towards practical solutions.

  • quuaa1- for one, suck it. and two I know I don't believe everything I hear, therefore it's hard to believe a word you say. who gives a damn if canadians can convert this nasty sand to oil. Hydrogen going to take over. so invest your money in that.

  • hydrogen

  • This misinformed idiot still thinks we're agreeing with Kyoto - the conservatives ditched Kyoto, the Liberals signed it, and that was it, just another move to make it seem like they're doing real work.

  • stop this bullshit... i saw this on nightline last night. they interviewed some guy asking why they were tearing up the beautiful land. his response was that they can make enough profits to rebuild the land. Damn I used to hate hippies complaining all the time, but this tar sand mining shit has got to end.

  • That's all bullshit.

  • Stupid ass hippies should come to downtown ft mac and try spewing their shit in the bars and restaurants, we would give them a whole new problem to think about, come on assholes, come down and talk your shit on franklin ave, where everyone makes a living off the tarsands you silly pricks drove or flew to ft mac with the very fuel you are whining about....fucking hypocrite assholes. plastic, silicone, medical supplies, the list goes on and on all products of tarsands not only fuel fucking goofs

  • @canadianeh1369 great comment ,im stuck in england at the moment, but if i get a firm job offer im otta this shithole, and buying you a beer and kick some greenpeace arse,ha ha ha

  • Big deal, they hung up a banner. Oil production will never stop.

  • Fuck you, you little bitch. Who the fuck are you to say what kind of industry we can set up? I don't know where you got your facts, but the efficiency of tar sands plants are actually a lot greater than what you said. There's even research coming out on how to double the efficiency of the plants, by using microwave radiation rather than water for separating the Bitumen, which the Chinese are researching. Oh yeah, and man made climate change is proven to be a myth.

  • Quuaa1 - "man made climate change is proven to be a myth"

is it? oh good, that's a relief. what paper was that? and which journal was it published in? Nature? Scientific American? New Scientist? or did you just write that because you want it to be true?

  • It is, there's been 3 major news reports done about this, there's countless scientists who believe otherwise, you just don't know about any of it - and why should you? The truth is the science we had before disproves it, the main point in man made climate change is co2 levels (produced by us) controlling temperature, right? We only emit about 3% the co2 in the atmosphere, (all 7 Billion), and temperature actually controls co2, do your own homework.

  • Hello again Quuaa, i think we're on the same page with this, the only homework we can do on a subject is to read the available reports, and remember 2 important things;

1/ the only reports we should read are those that have been peer-reviewed. - Anyone can gather evidence, draw conclusions, and write it all down in a paper, which is worthless until it passes the close critical scrutiny of the peer-review process.

2/ it doesn't matter if we like what it says. it's been peer-reviewed.

  • One more thing, you saying that it's been peer reviewed, therefore it's the golden truth is not realistic. Science changes as we learn more, so what may be true one day may be complete bullshit the next as new findings prove something else. That's the problem with global warming, the idea is that it's just one belief, you can't question it, no new finding can be accepted, anyone that says anything that contradicts it is a Nazi and a heretic.

  • I'm a part of this planet just all humans are, you stupid cunt. If equate the value of your own life to the value of life of a bug, go ahead. If you want to reduce the population of the planet, start with yourself and like minded idiots. Show us the way and we'll consider if we should follow. Do us all a big favor, eliminate your insanity from the genetic pool of human race and leave us alone. If you consider humans some vermin or virus you are the one that needs to disappear voluntarily

  • Hey there homo , here's an idea try spreading your banner across the front of my DODGE RAM Hemi while i'm driving it .

Come on i wanna see how devoted you are to the enviroment.

  • Amen! Stop the Tar Sands!

  • Hey guys, did you guys drive to that bridge or walked? Nothing convinces better than personal example. Why don't you guys completely stop using any fossil fuels and thus reduce the aggregate Carbon footprint.

Do you have the new technology that meets all the requirements that you've mentioned?

When you coming up with demands about change maybe you should be able to come up with an alternative. Till that day very few people listen to you.

  • kinda not the point, you typical Albertan.

  • How did you conclude that I'm an Albertan from the post? You must be a genius or have telepathy abilities or both.

Not that I care if you believe me, but you can't be farther from the truth. In fact I'm not even a Canadian.

"kinda not the point" ?!! What is the point? Is there too much logic and common sense for your low energy consuming, low heat emitting environmentally friendly brain to handle?

That is exactly the point. If you can't come up with better technology, shut the f**k up.

  • whatever...

  • Exactly.

That's what I and other people that apply logic and rationale say when we see the actions of enviro-wackos like that guy and you.

Whatever...I guess you consider it to be very strong and infaulable counter argument in a debate. If that's all you can come up with

  • too bad greenpeace is just that: PEACE!!!

if it were up to me, your lucky it isn't, I would gladly blow hardnosed, ignorant, refuses to see reason, people like yourself off the face of this planet, leaveing just the people who give a shit about our home on it. sure there will be few of us but at least we can start making progress...

  • Here we go, you just reveled your real face. One more enviro-nazi piece of scum that wants to eradicate humans. That's exactly the kind of methods Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini used in dealing with people with opposing views.

What kind of reason did you apply here you little pathetic piece of shit?

"Kinda not the point", "typical Albertan" or "whatever" or "gladly blow...people like [myself] off the face of this planet"?

You're a nut job and it's never gonna be up to you.

  • so what your saying is... you value your own life more then the life of this planet?

  • I'm a part of this planet just all humans are, you stupid cunt. If equate the value of your own life to the value of life of a bug, go ahead. If you want to reduce the population of the planet, start with yourself and like minded idiots. Show us the way and we'll consider if we should follow. Do us all a big favor, eliminate your insanity from the genetic pool of human race and leave us alone. If you consider humans some vermin or virus you are the one that needs to disappear voluntarily

  • yeah okay i dont know why im wasting my energy on something you wrote 5 months ago, lets just get on with our lives fuck it, and im going to smoke some weed now, cause thats more like GREEN peace! later dude!

  • There are alternatives and they include public transit, walking and biking. There more ways to be sustainable then what I've listed. But if you don't want to, it's your problem and the rest of the world's problem if carbon emissions keep on going up. Some people have their own agenda's, others will try to include "making the world a better place" on their list.
