  • wow!!! Dan Blocker before Bonanza!!!

  • I'm guessing this version of the pilot episode is from the series' syndicated run. The original theme song was performed by the great Johnny Cash. Instead, what I hear in the opening credits sounds like a Sam Spence composition because this exact tune was used as background music by NFL Films in the early-1970s, especially if the Baltimore Colts and/or Kansas City Chiefs were involved.

  • Being horseless The Rebel walks into town. down main street of Corriganville Movie Ranch. One of my favorite western tv series.

  • The director of this episode, Irvin Kershner, was later the director of the Empire Strikes Back (among other films).

  • Dan Blocker and Strother Martin in early roles.

  • Dan Blocker in an early role.

  • OMG! That's Willam Conrad, the original Matt Dillon on radio!

  • @SchmoozeMinkey Not only that, But the bartender that first appears about 3 minutes in is Harry Bartell. When it comes to Old Time Radio, and in particular the Westerns, you name it and he did it. Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, Frontier Gentleman, and many more. He was also the spokesman for Petri wine in the Sherlock Holmes and Casebook of Gregory Hood series. Lots of TV and tons of radio. Very recognizable voice, just like William Conrad and John Dehner (who also guest starred in this show).

  • @HOGEFAN By this show, I mean The Rebel...not necessarily this episode. I've only seen a few minutes so far. :)

  • man...i used to love watchin this show when i was a kid...i still like it...

  • Loved this show! Nick Adams was so cool in this show. The "Scattergun"!!! Ha!

  • Haha! It's Hoss Cartwright! I love that belly laugh of his!

  • Such a shame. Great actor...was in many movies and tv series. His death is like George Reeves...a mystery.

  • Corriganville

  • Looks like the town is Corriganville.

  • Looks like the town is Corriganville.

  • Looks like the town is Corriganville. I'm a Gabby Hayes fan.

  • Dan Blocker,and Strother Martin

  • Confederates should have won the Civil War!

  • I thought this was an ABC show I know the star of this show killed himself not long after this show went off the air.

  • Dan Blocker is the bad guy??

    Bill

  • When his roamin' days were over, did Johnny sell ice cream under the name "The Good Yuma Man"???

  • what we got here is a failure to communicate!

  • Strother Martin and John Carradine are in this episode, also. I vaguely remember seeing this show when I was very young. I am very surprised now at the quality of the acting, writing, and cinematography. Excellent for a 50's TV program. Still holds up well.

  • I love seeing Dan Blocker as the bad guy. This is a complete departure from his usual screen persona - the lovable oaf.

  • Thanks for the posting I loved all those old time westerns.

  • This show was on NBC from 1959 until 1962.

  • Nice posting - nostalgic - this was obviously before the theme song came along (right?). I used to love all those cowboy shows as a kid growing up in Wyoming

  • Wow - This was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. I remember getting the Johnny Yuma cap pistol and cap one Christmas. Thanks for posting!

  • No problem. I have a couple more episodes of this show. I'll get them posted as soon as I can.

  • Do you have any episodes of "The legend of Jesse James" with Christopher Jones "1965"

  • Sorry, no I don't.

  • @vampiurz Is that the same Christopher Jones who played the role of Max Frost in the movie "Wild In The Streets"? What a classic flick!
