  • Great simple location tip! Thank you much, I'll be trying it today!

  • Thanks for all of the great vids! I'm going to have a chance to shoot some pro-ball and was wondering whta lenses you think are the best for basketball. Shooting HS basketball I have been using my 70-200 f2.8 and my 24-70 f2.8 on a full frame camera. Someone mentioned that I may want to use some longer glass too like a 300mm. Any sugestions?

  • I use the 70-200/f2.8 and a 120-200/f2.8 for most of my basketball shot from the baseline. The 120-300 is almost always kept at 300/f2.8.

  • nice vid!! I find the gym where i shoot basketball is very low light and I have an aperature of like 4 or something so it doesnt work too well. any recommendations or ideas?

  • It is important that you have fast glass for low-light and indoor sports action photography. That's why you see sports photographers with expensive glass...because it's a necessity. Even with fast glass, you will have to be willing to shoot at very high ISOs (1600, 3200 or even higher). Without fast glass, the other option is to use strobes (see other videos). Good luck!
