  • i thought it was just me that had problems with the MediMatte. . . there's no way you're going to get foundation on over that stuff

  • Is there any DS skin care you could recommend for oily skin? :D

  • @tgreen457 what is DS?

  • @Lisasz09 Sorry Drugstore lol :)

  • @Lisasz09 drugstore

  • what would you recommend for someone with REALLLLY oily skin ?

  • @Edkax3 are you looking for a foundation, moisturizer, or powder?

  • @Lisasz09 all! haha i have the mac prime and i used a lot today, and it lasted like2 hours, then my face got oily again =\ but its better than nothing i guess! but i am buying the murad tomorrow so hopefully it works! so sick of my skin =[

  • @Edkax3 try milk of magnesia as a primer

  • @unicorntube98 i agree translucent will be more natural, a coloured powder, even wen super fine, can look to make-upey.

  • sorry to ask but what is the full name of the murad product so when i go to sephora i can easily find it?

  • @holysnitxx mural oil control lotion

  • Do you have an updated make up routine? or still the same? :)

  • @theAnnedroid I have face of the months videos that show my routine as it changes because it always changes! :o)

  • @unicorntube98 I would say translucent

  • what foundation do u recommend for me, i have the same type of skin like u with acne ? makeupforever, mac, lorac doesn't exist in my city

  • @2A3109 what brands are availible to you?

  • @Lisasz09 like estee lauder, clarins, clinique, lancome, dior, chanel, pupa =) and of course drugstore brands =).

  • @2A3109 Estee lauder double wear is great and Dior forever is nice also!

  • @Lisasz09 thanks for the advice! i was thinking about try out the estee lauder double wear. Do you try lancome teint idole ultra? And ... worses acne estee lauder double wear ? thanks

  • @2A3109 The lancome didnt last on my skin it wore off after a short time- I like the EL way better

  • @Lisasz09 thanks! i decided to try de el =). Resist the sweat?

  • hi doll, I have very oily skin and I'm trying to compare foundations before I choose, I'm stuck between the MUFE matte velvet plus and the nars sheer matte. I saw your review on MUFE and it sounds like it would probably work for me but have you tried the nars sheer matte? If so, how do you think they compare as far as keeping oil at bay for the longest time?

  • @delia224 I have not tried the nars but I really like the MUFE one

  • I just love how you say "hello you-tubers". Its so cute. :) I have used murad products before, and i have to say, i definately am hooked on their masks!

  • U look GREAT in this video seriously sooo pretty the hair ur skin color everything

  • Hello :-) Is the MURAD primer oil free or silicone free? Plz answer :-)

  • @RafouliG I believe it is because it is a moisturizer that doubles as a primer

  • Very nice video .Is very effective for my skin.

  • Hi Lisasz09! You mentioned that you use a moisturizer before applying the Murad Mattifier (probably because although murad is a moisturizer, it's not hydrating your skin enough?), what moisturizer do you use? Thanks!

  • @TheAlfa30 I just use whatever I am using at the time! :o)

  • Hi Lisa, love your reviews. Sorry if this has been asked but have you tried Boscia's skin perfecting primer? I went for this instead of Murad's mattifier and now I'm kind of regretting it. I am extremely oily in the t-zone and currently use MUFE's mat velvet +. Would the murad mattifier work well with it?

  • @joannaa25 I have not tried that one yet! the Murad works well with MUFE in my opinion!

  • Now you did said you use the murad as a primer, now I use the murad as a hydrator and the Dr Brandt as a primer. So basically I'm using 2 primers or am I doing something wrong? .... Help lol

  • @MrTeddy241100 Murad is a moisturizer that can also be used as a primer. It does double duty.

  • Your lighting is to bright it makes you look washed out & hard to see the products...

    Good review tho

  • hey i was wondering if youve tried: Dermalogica- welcome matte moisturizer

    Dermalogica- clear mattifier

  • @paigeypoo1313 no I havent tried either of them! Sorry

  • u has purty eyes

  • ultra informative ... nice!!

  • this was REALLY helpful and you look great on this vid! thank you.

  • Is the MAC product expensive?

  • @BeautyBabyy07 I think it is around 20 USD

  • I looooooooooooooooooooooove shisedo! The only flaw is that it's so expensive! Thanks for the review! ;D

  • Its pronounced as 'Shi-Se-Do' xD

  • HEY GUYS, I KINDA NEED HELP! MY CONVERTER WONT WORK SO I CANT PUT UP VIDEOS BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO START DOING MAKEUP TUTORIALS AND STUFF..BUT I WANT TO DO A SLIDESHOW VIDEO AT FIRST TO GET ME STARTED..WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO HELP ME IF SOOO COMMENT BACK ON THIS OR MESSAGE ME THANK YOU <3

  • Thank you for all your videos! Do you still use the Mac Primer (spf 50) if you use the Murad Mattifier? I you do, do you apply it before the primer? X ;}

  • @bunnie042000 I actually am trying all different ones right now for reviews! I do still use the murad and sometimes the MAC but only in the summer!

  • @Lisasz09 Have you ever tried Cover FX ? I have very sensitive oily skin and have used both primers - Clearprep and Skinprep. However both products do not contain any sun block. However, the Briteprep FX (one I haven't tried) does have SPF. After applying the primer I would apply the Matte Fx (a blotting powder) and then either a mineral powder (Mineral FX) or a tinted moisturizer (Skintint FX). I would also set with Setting FX and blot one more time in T Zone area with Matte FX. Shine free!

  • @bunnie042000 I have only tried the skin prep one- and I do like it in the iwnter when my skin is more dry!

  • @bunnie042000 I have tried their primers and I like them! :o)

  • @Lisasz09 - FYI - I purchased Neostrata's Matifying Fluid and WOW. So far this is the best matifying product I have ever tried. You can use it as a primer too. Its applied last - before sunscreen - and either before primer or after (I guess it balls up with some primers but I haven't had that happen with my Clearprep FX).

  • @bunnie042000 I only use one at a time- every once in a while in summer I will use both but only if I am really oily and need the spf

  • Hello. I really liked your reviews and would like to ask a quick question.

I have combination-oily skin and regardless how much I clean my face I get spots. Regular moisturisers are too rich for me. I was wondering if this Murad mattifier is good as a primer. Does your foundation stay flawless on it? Thank you

  • @englishfish murad works great as a primer as well! Hourglass is a great one too! Good Luck!

  • okay... I LOVE YOU. im obsessed with your reviews. You are SO knowledgeable and give great detailed information on products. Ive said it before and ill say it again... you are the ONLY guru whose opinion i trust 100% I will repurchase the Murad Mattifier (which you turned me on to) and i think Im going to try the matte velvet. I feel tho that the colors are a bit off for my skin.

***Quick Question.... do you prefer Studio Tech or Bobbi Browns Stick Foundation?

  • @Ois4Orlando aww thanks so much! I am glad they help you! Another great founadtion I am using right now is Guerlain parure extreme- it is expensive but great! I have never tries BB foundations- sorry!

  • thanks for the review. Its like you new the question on my mind. I am wondering though, if I use the murad matte lotion, can I still get the dewy look. I am not so much looking for a matte look, I want the dewy look and really I am not sure how oily of skin I have, but what I do know, is that my make seems to disappear off my face so quickly and I'm guessing that because of oil?? So would the murad help to stop my makeup from disappearing while still being able to achieve a dewy look?

  • @AndreaJuliet I think what you need is a makeup primer- this will help the foundatin stay longer!

  • i wish i will look as beautiful as you when i get older.. <3

  • Just to tell you your face doesn't actually produce more oils then it does in the winter, it's just that during the summer the air is humid and obtains water so your face isn't absorbing the water because you have oily skin and not dry skin. It seems like not many people know this information. I just really wanted to tell somebody about that. :-)

  • Your skin color looks really great here and very natural.

  • Have you ever tried the Urban Decay de-slick in a tube? I've been meaning to buy it

  • @MelinaElizabeth17 I have not the one UD primer I tried broke me out! :o(

  • Where can you get Murad and about how much does it coast?

  • @Somantha21 I got it at sephora- I am not sure how much it costs! Sorry!

  • @Somantha21 for 1.7 oz its about 40 bucks :)

  • @kittygrace09 k thank u!

  • @Somantha21 $39.50 @ Sephora

  • Isn't it dangerous to use products with talc in it???

  • @Sillybehr88 it depends on your skina nd how it reacts I dont have any issues with it!

  • whats good for a guys oily skin???

  • @blksabbath65 murad oil control lotion is great and transparent! :o)

  • I'm going to get the Shiseido one this afternoon, see what's up with that. Great reviews. Do some review for La Mer products pretty please. Thx

  • This video answered all my questions! Thank You!

  • Shiseido....Shi Sei do... I Don't Care.. LOL!!!

  • I was debating about purchasing murad yet I had to find a cheaper product. Youll never guess! I have very oily skin in my t zone and cheeks and thought nothing would work. I swear on all you have to try milk of magnesia!!! I know it sounds crazy but I works so well with me for hours!!!!!!!

Please give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

    Good luck!

  • I use Phillips Milk of magnesia in original, it works great to mattify your skin followed by Monistat chafing relief powder gel as a primer. My makeup stays all day long and I live in TN where it gets humid in the summer!

  • Have you ever tried the MAC oil control lotion? if so, what did you think?

  • @jade31323 no I havent tried that from them- their skincare tends to break me out! :o( I did try the matte gel and it broke me out too!

  • @Lisasz09 oh ok, cause i loved the Murad, and i pair it with the MAC oil control lotion everyday, and i find it's the best combo i've ever tried :D

  • @jade31323 Ive used it.. though I have very oily skin it did not work well with me. I even topped it with the MAC mattifier.. and the shine was still present!

But what works for very oily skin is milk of magnesia!!! I know it sounds crazy but just try it once and youll see instantly what Im talking bout!

    Good luck!

  • Great vid. Very helpful.

    Thanks! (:

  • totally agree.. medi matte is like GLUE and covers the skin in gunk. u can forget applying any makeup on it.

  • SHI-SAY-DOUGH

    xD "oh i don't care."

    you're funny

    good reviews !

  • FYI the Givenchy Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer is also really really good!

    awesome video LIsa!

  • Super review, Lisa. I have very oily breakout prone skin and I'm always looking for tips and tricks to help control the mid-morning shine. Your reviews are always concise and informative, thank you. Tima

  • medi-matte didn't work for me either! it sinks into your pores and looks so cakey. i hated it! returned it after the 3rd day. goes to show that expensive products aren't always better.

  • Did you ever use the MUFE HD liquid foundation? How do you like that compared to the Matt Velvet + foundation?

  • I did try it and I returned it- it made me look so oily through the day! I love the Matt one though!

  • ok, so I don't comment often but I just had to tell you how pretty I think your skin looks lighter. I just think the color of your skin right now is soo complimentary to your hair & eye color. Not to mention how much younger you look! Just my opinion!

  • love, love your reviews lisa!

  • Since watching your videos, I have bought several things including the Murad and origins multi-grain! Love both of them!Thank you so much for letting us know which products work!

*I see some people saying which moisturizer to use, I don't know if you have tried it or not, but I use Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion, which I wear under the Murad that you recommended!

  • I've noticed that alot of the popular MAC products are made to suit oily skin

  • Can you do a video on moisturizers for Combo/oily skin. Both high end and drugstore brands and sunscreens for oily skin.

    Keep up the great videos....

  • I dont change my moisturizers that often, so i dont review skincare other than those I use- sorry!

  • I looove the Dr. Brandt Pores No More! I use either that or the Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector every day (I find they do exactly the same thing!!) I agree that the Dr. Brandt is not for mattifying though, just for minimizing the appearance of pores...

Thank you so much for this video Lisa! I have extremely oily skin and live in FL where it's always hot & humid so I'm constantly looking for products to help w/ oil! You gave me a lot of good ideas in this video so thank you soo much!

  • your skin looks great! I need to try this stuff out! Also I like that your skin isnt as dark right now!

  • I got the murad stuff thanks to you, and it has changed my life..well you know what i mean...this stuff is great..thanks!!

  • Hey Lisa, I have been using the Murad then doing my makeup. I have the same type of oily/combination skin as you. I'm wondering what moisturizer you use before the Murad. Thanks. =)

  • Great video, Lisa - thank you =) I need clarification on how you use the Murad in conjunction with MAC P+P SPF 50: Do you do the P+P first, then Murad as the final step prior to foundation app? TIA!! ~Gabby

  • I use the Murad then my MAC- I only use the MAC when i want additional SPF or if my foundation doesnt have enough!

  • il ur hair!! so pretty :]

  • You're so funny. Thank you for doing this, I recently realized how bad my oil is.

  • I tried the Murn and it did nothing for me my skin still gets oily throughout the day :( oh well Imma keep searching for one that will work for me.

  • u look better when ur not soo tan

  • have you ever heard of Everyday Minerals?? I used to use them all the time a couple years ago when I was first getting into makeup, but kinda stopped when I found some other high end options. But now I'm wondering if Everyday Minerals was a better alternative because it's a LOT cheaper and idk, what do you think??

  • I have heard of them but i have never tried their products yet- if I purchase them i will be sure to do a review!

  • thanks Lisa, can Murad mattifier be applied just on T-Zone not to dry out the cheeks? i use laura Mercier primier for oily skin but it doesnt help as my T-Zone starts shining in 3 hours after applying my foundation.

  • sure you can use it just on your oily areas! :o)

  • I love MUFE mat velevt + omg holy grail in my opinion but for all you girls the mac prep n prime is awesome but if you have acne prone skin its bad...i think its mostly corn starch and that it bad because the bacteria on your face "acne" will basically eat it Eww lol so Mufe would be a better choice. You are awesome Lisa!!!!

  • Hi Lisa,

Can you do a video on very dry to dry skin routine. I have very dry skin in the winter time, and I can still see it even after I use moisturizers. Please help!

    Thanks

    Thanks !

  • Hey lisa I know you go to the dermatologist to get face peels, but have you ever tried cliniques turnaround glycolic peel?

  • no I have not tried it- I never had good luck with clinique facial products! :o(

  • I have not found any good drugstore options yet! :o( Sorry!

  • After all my trials with the Chanel Pro and Mat not having a perfect color for me, I got a sample of the Sheseido, I LOVE it. 20 is the PERFECT color and it feels so smooth to put on. Too bad I already dropped the bucks on the chanel ick!

  • Great review as usual Lisa. I think I will try out the MUFE matte velvet. I like a matte finish then add my highlight.

    Thanks for review.

  • LOVE the comment on i dont care! on how to say foundation name! cute

  • I have tried it and it broke me out! :o)

  • I just learned recently that there is a difference between water resistant and waterproof. If it's water resistant it will come off with soap and water. if it's waterproof you need a makeremover to take it off.

I just wanted to tell you that so you wouldn't be disappointed in a product if you expected it to be waterproof. Which has happened to me before. I didn't know there was a difference until I read that article. I had always thought they meant the same thing.

  • pls pls reply! I have horrible dark under eye circles!! do u know of any products that can get rid of them?! they're due to heredity not lack of sleep! i've tried hylexin & a mary kay product but none of them worked. pls help!

    luv your new subscriber,

    alicia

  • you should use a eye cream for undereye circles like you have been doing twice a day. they when You apply makeup you should try using a corrector (pink based like benefit eye bright) and then a concealer! Good Luck!

  • this was helpful to me..thank you. also your eyes look beautyful...what kind of eyeshadow you used??

  • I list what i am wearing in the sidebar! :o)

  • HI Lisa, have you tried the L'Oreal studio line oil control primer yet by any chance? I'm wondering how it compares to Murad. How much is the Murad and where can you buy it?

  • I have not tried the Loreal product. I have not even seen it yet. I will keep my eyes open for it! I forget how much the murad is around $30 something- they sell it at Sephora!

  • Super super helpful, thankyou Lisa

  • your videos are always so helpful! thank you lisa x

  • can you do one for more drugstore makeup for oily

  • I dont really have any drugstore options that help oily skin but Revlon Colorstay and Rimmel stay matte are great drugstore foundations for oily skin- I have reviews on both! :o)

  • Thanks for this video, Lisa. It was a great help. You also make me laugh when you try to pronounce labels, "Shisheido...oh whatever!" LOL. Keep the videos coming, we ALL love them!

  • can you do a DRY SKIN product overview?Thank you!!

  • I dont own any products for dry skin since they would not work for my skin- sorry!

  • hey

please can you do a review on nars primer

  • it is on my list to review

  • Bonjour chère Lisa ;)

    (hello, dear Lisa)

Have you seen the lastest (1&2 skin care products) lisa eldridge videos on youtube?like you she is amazing .....have you ever tried dermalogica gentle cream exfoliant???a gentle , non-abrasive exfoliation treatment that removes dulling surface debris, dramatically improving skin texture. it's the best one i think ;). love you/ love your videos /thank you so much again for this new one/have a great day! xoxo A bientôt .( see you soon/ in french) .Chris

  • I have seen it and I have seen Lollipop26's review on it as well- I have not tried it yet- I am trying to get through the facial products I have first!

  • Oh, agree with others on the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder--this helps as much as, if not more than MAC Blot, and seems to look less chalky.

  • your hair looks gorgeous in this vid

  • Lisa, my oily skin THANKS YOU!! I had sworn off mattifiers because none of them worked, but the Murad actually helps! And I bought the Shiseido on your rec, which I luuuuv. Oily skin is so frustrating, and I wanted to know you've helped. Luv you!!

  • thanks for the great video!

just wanted to let you know that the mac pressed blot powder does not contain talc, its main ingredient is dimethicone, where as the loose blot powder does contain talc. in fact its the main ingredient. I emailed mac customer care a while ago about this, as i am sensitive to talc.

thanks again! i think im going to try the murad...

  • @brb4000 O n I use the combination/oily formula n it works great! It's supposedly transfer resistant, even though it still transfers a bit for me especially around the T-Zone, but nothing as much as Loreal's crappy True Match foundation which was terrible!!! Anyway, hope u try it out if u haven't already. It's definitely the best drugstore foundation in my opinion--at least for a medium-full coverage, oil free, non-comedogenic foundation. If ur looking for a higher end one, go with Lancome.

  • By the way, the Shiseido Foundation is NOT oil-free; not recommended for oily skin. Can you recommend a water-resistant foundation that can be used on the neck ?

  • @CLOUDTHOUGHT I saw ur comment n I couldn't help but say Revlon Colorstay foundation! haha! I just got it, and in the first 2 days I didn't like it much, but now I'm in lovvvvvvvvvvve with it! If u haven't tried it out, it's pretty cheap since u could usually get it as buy 1 get 1 free, just look out for CVS or any other pharmacies' weekly ad.

  • you can use any water resisant ones- MUFE, Sheseido, Revlon Colorstay, Rimmel Matte

  • lisaaa!

can you please review the new covergirl oil control pressed powder?

they came out with the "clean" line of new cover girl powders and i'd really like to know what you think about the oil control branch :)

    thank you!

  • I do not own it but if I purchase it I will be sure to add it to my list to review! :o)

  • thank you so much! :)
