  • Bought an Ampeg SVT-III pro and two 4/10 cabs back in 93' (slm) never had any problems other than changing preamp tubes. This amp rocks even after 19 years!!!!! Now I haul that amp around with two Hartke 1/12 Hydrives and the sound is incredible!!! Stll prefer the sound of 4/10's but the trade off in weight is worth it.

  • 4:50 to 6:00 = masterpiece!

  • What happened to Ampeg?

  • @David87321

hi dave, think the japs took over, I tried one of their new combo's it was shit

  • @gordon7443 Really? aww that sucks... a friend from some years ago had an Ampeg head and speakers, it sounded great and had lots of balls, always had on the back of my mind that when I could afford it I'd buy Ampeg, I guess I'll have to shop around.

  • @David87321

I was going to get a second hand ampeg but the cost size and weight put me off, instead I got a second hand warwick quad 6 amp and a 15 inch emeninece speaker and made my own cab (total cost £250) sounds brilliant.

  • @David87321 I quit using svt 4 pro heads had many die on me on the road,as have other touring bass friends, still like the cabs but since crate(st.louis music) bought them many years ago the quality went way down. I may try the porta stuff to have a travel head but never trust my live shows to ampegs anymore

  • "You're not going to post this on Youtube are you?"

    YUP!

  • ok, great bassist, but how this can help people on understand how plays the amps.. he has always same sound... that's completely off about any amp

  • What's that song at 6:30? I've heard it before... Love that tapping ostinato, yeah.

  • @Sojourneer Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

  • gotta love billy he hasn`t changed since the 70`s true inspiration!! as for his playing thats another chapter.

  • ampeg n te dava tanto problema billy

  • How many times he get the speed of light?

  • Jaco is the Hendrix of bass. Sheehan is the Van Halen of bass.

  • @Gabriopunk77 I Agree :D

  • "Your not gonna post this on youtube are ya?" :D

  • @theozzysabath Cliff is on of the beest examplesof practice makes perfect. he practiced for long periods of time every day, and got real good real fast. he could have been entwistle good if he hd lived longer, and was a sort of bridgee between bass and guitar. he was amazing, and was truly great.

  • A-NI-MAL!!!

  • About $700 at Musicians friend. :)

  • How much does the Yamaha corst ?

  • crude bass trickery

  • Cliff, is that you?

  • @ninjasmart HOW DARE YOU INSULT BILLY SHEEHAN!!!!!!!!!

Cliff is good, but billy is way better

  • @TheOzzySabbath Cliff would have been better is he had lived longer. Cliff could get really good really fast, and he would have probably been the best if he didn't die.

  • @bassharmonica1 Cliff pretty much followed the guitars. He had talent but he would never be on the level of Billy.

  • @TheOzzySabbath Not on the level of Billy? *facepalm* Cliff was a badass in metal. He often strayed from the guitars to do his own thing. You can't do that all the time in thrash, of course. But in 'Anesthesia' he clearly established that his chops went far beyond metal. Please, don't embarrass yourself like this.

  • @hecbiz75 I personally think that Billy plays way to much like a guitar player and that Cliff had way more groove. That being said, Billy has technical skill that most musicans wish that they could have. He destroys most guitar players, bass players, and he is a great writer. I dont believe that Cliff would have surpassed him.

  • @TheOzzySabbath Sheehan is, indeed, quite possibly one of the most technically skilled players out there. Within the rock music field, he's in the top rung, indeed. Only Stuart Hamm is right up there with him, but Stu is more of a prog rocker. Billy dabbles in straight up rock much more than Stu. But, to me, technical skill alone doesn't quite do it. There was just *something* about Cliff. A certain mojo, if you will. He died very young (24), so he didn't quite get the chance that Billy's had.

  • @TheOzzySabbath my friend, you are comparing a young cliff in his 20s with a mature Billy in his 50s, Cliff was a badass back then, imagine what he would be like now, overall it's apples&oranges comparison

  • @anahowana Well, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Derral, and Jimi Hendrex also died young, but there are people saying there are older people that are better at guitar than they are (I am not one of them, im just using it as an example) anyway the age doesn't matter comparing how Cliff was back then, and Billy right now. It all has to do with opinion.

  • @TheOzzySabbath that's why ive never appreciated to compare artists to each other, it's a common practice in hip hop, rap&pop communities but i guess rock&metal are beyond this nonsens )) yngwie in not gary moore, marty friedman is not chris poland allan holdsworth is not chuck shuldiner, brian may isn't kerry king, jaco pastorius isn't alex webster...everyone is unique and i respect them for what they do without having to prove that only one out of them is DA BEST.peace from Morocco.

  • He use 4finger!?!?!?

  • @hiranejun

yep. mainly uses 3, but he can use 4, as well. it's not hard. I've been playing like that for 6 years, now.

  • I had a chance to play a Sheehan Yamaha about a year ago. Almost as nice as my Fender Jazz Plus.

Ampeg set up production in China btw.

  • Who does Ampeg have left? All of my idols are playing through hartke's now... Pino's still on Ampeg though now that I think of it.

  • to be with you! =]

  • he still kick ass! keep rocking!

  • does anyone know the name of that red pedal on top oft the kilo amp ?
