  • @gekajgnqweriugn Really, there's been what? A few hundred million of us that have watched this for the last 45 years? LOL

  • thanks for posting... I've been looking for this clip for a while. I love how he threw in the lick from The Beatles "I Feel Fine"

    (:20).

  • @bdwilder

lol, I ddn''t notice that until I went back and listened again!

  • haha i saw that to

he did alot of stuff with the beatless

    awesome!

  • @bdwilder indeed, it is amazing how he threw out native brit's licks on their own territory... @lulu, @theIsleofWight, etc. As rumor has it he and the band played Sgt. Pepper's intro a few days after the album's release to open a gig. Where have all the good musicians gone...?

  • @bdwilder good ear! lol

  • Isn't that part of the Lulu show?

  • this clip is by no means rare

  • hah like jimis smile :D 0:08

  • like santa

  • is that geddy lee on bass? looks like him anyway

  • no it fucking doesnt, it's noel redding !!!!

  • no its noel reading

  • It's MJ

  • Um...."I have searched everywhere on the internet for this video and turned up nothing. You probably won't find it anywhere but here"

is a lie if you watch any of the many LuLu show 1969 clips its on them ...He sstrats with an awesome Voodoo Child then Hey Joe which he stops half way through to paly Sunshine Of Your Love and he dedicates it to Cream! SOrry to put a annoying comment on a video with the worlds greatest guiarist :)

  • about 0:21 it sounds exactly like the beginning of The Beatles Song "Day Tripper"

  • Yeah also Hendrix did the same thing at Isle Of Wight, same song too

  • you mean "I feel fine"

  • its different to the final piece but still awesome!

  • Schmaxie10, I prefer Noel Redding. I think he was much more sexy than Jimmy, and very good with the bass.

  • why did you leave us jimmy whyyy?

    R.I.P

    ("hate these gay guitarists nowadays")

  • Jimi Henrix!!! He is still so enigmatic and charasmatic and sexy. I miss him even though I never knew him!

  • this is not in the studio.

  • His Immortal solos...

    i just love them.

  • his reaction to that out of tune string is priceless. and the fact that he knew which string it was is super impressive cuz he was playing a chord. what a pimp.

  • Love it when he admits he's forgotten the words, what a wonderful performer taken from us far too soon.

  • This is not a studio clip. This is when he was on the Lulu show. I think it was 1968.

  • every day he plays much better than the first............

  • Thank you SOOOO much! Berend.

  • That made my day. who is cooler than Jimi

  • lol, I love his reaction to the detuned string haha!

  • oh, and when he says "I forgot the words" lmao

    gotta love him!!

  • This was at the Lulu Show 1969.

  • yeah i watched it live on bbc tv right then i was 16 yrs old...he broke off of it & did a Cream tribute (Sunshine) much to the chagrin of the BEEB! they didnt take kindly to artistic creativity being applied to their schedule.

He was a beautiful talent loved by every guitar player on the planet. when it comes to guitar heroes, he was the real thing.

  • Yes! I just saw this clip last night on the BBC show tributing 60's pop. I was taken by how alive and charasmatic Jimi appeared on this clip. So sad he died so young!

  • happybirthday jimi hendrix!!

  • ain't rare no more... its on YOUTUBE, kick ass song though

  • Love this.

  • At 21 - 23 seconds catch Jimi playing the riff to The Beatles "I Feel Fine."

  • jimi actually played that lick a bunch. never thought about it though until now. probably just a common riff.

  • he threw random riffs in his music all the time.

Louie Louie, I Feel Fine, Satisfaction, random riffs like that. just what was popular.

  • Nice catch lol

  • Isn't that frome the Happening for LuLu BBC-Tv Show!?

  • Is that Getty Lee in the background????

[Now I know where he got his 'look'!]

  • Thank you, Razorgore2. I love this sound !!!

  • What´s the name of the second guitar ( the man with long hair) ?

  • Noel Redding

  • orsum

  • why would you put a clip from the full Lulu show recording, you don't even have the intro to this song...come on

  • Not very rare. Lulu show 1969

    "01-04-69: LuLu Show, BBC-TV, London

Voodoo Chile, Hey Joe, Sunshine of Your Love* *= dedicated to Cream Jimi stops and announces, We'd like to stop playing this rubbish and dedicate a song to the Cream. "

  • Man that looks like a young Geddy Lee on bass

    but it wasn't.

  • it does

  • I have this already for years. Lulu show, 4th jan. 1969 very known and not rare!

  • cool. at :22 he plays i feel fine by the beatles

  • lol..he does

  • yea

well he did do that cover of srt. peppers lonely hearts club band.

he's got to be a fan

  • Rare studio clip? Lulu show, this is everywhere.

  • Hendrix did not play guitar, it was an extension of his body

  • Haha Noel has a plaster casters shirt on

  • ok here is a guy with a unique voice and guitar phrasing technique and an unorthodox way of playing conquering the world by storm, unfortunately this would not be the same three years later

  • High quality Video. Thanks for posting.

  • Logix is correct this is from Hendrix's gig at Lulu's, thanks for the upload none the less!

  • it isnt rare my friend
