  • what did u expect,cobalts are lighter,faster and awsomer! anyone agree? :]

  • Could've at least made the silverado look decent :(

  • Check out a real cobalt ss in my video. I take down a v max no problem! :)

  • i like your car

  • your car sucks

  • hey im looking at getting a cobalt. anythiung to watch for? good car? any type of maintenance that is mandatory at certain points? thanks

  • @griffinherbst

The cobalt as a whole is a good car, better then pretty much ANYTHING for the money. I would suggest the turbo model due to the cheap cost of performance. The supercharged version is still great but the sc and small engine size is the ultats the ultimate down fall.,

  • damn good race

  • lmfao ss only came black blue and red for the idiots arguing about it thats it 03-05 and some were make in 06 as the ss classic which is the sickest looking of all

  • @cruise30 And what do you drive loser? Mini Van.. Nothing on your profile

  • Yea only an SRT-10 nothing else you wanna talk about hard to hook there is your truck. But when it does few and far it's a beast no muff no cat talk about loud so had to put custom side pipes angled down gained 58 hp with an intake an exhaust next the supercharger. When I get a few grand. That's what I would tell anyone who is looking for a truck to use for hauling and haulin ass.

  • Wonder how it would of held up against a real truck like the F-150 Lightning. I've seen Lightnings take Vettes, Bimmers, Mercs, Camaros and a few others including those precious little Silverado SS trucks. It sucks that Ford stopped production, but you still don't want to tangle with one of them. I'm sure some Chevy lover on here is going to get all pissy but remember the Silverado SS never beat the Lightning at least not from factory that is. Now a modified SS yeah maybe, but it's not the same.

  • @dewolfe13 i loved the lightnings. they just werent usable trucks except for the track. a buddy of mine used to have one. a little too much gas and there go the tires. no backseat, no towing. if i had a choice, id pick the ss, just for the fact that you can still use it as a truck. or i like the f150 harleys.

  • @chaynestheman This is true...but that's why they also had the Harley F150's with the blown Lightning Engine in them. Four doors, a pinch slower, with an interior that looked good until you got to that hair pulling Harley emblem. Those trucks were nuts too though. I know of a couple of my friends that had them, and if they didn't hook up right...watch out. It'd be nothing but smoke and screeching tires until almost 3rd gear. Nasty little bastards would scare the guy next to them into submission.

  • @dewolfe13 ive driven one a couple times. they sounded great and drove great, but i still wouldnt have hooked a trailer up and thrown a load of wood in the back. its just an awesome SHOW truck with racing potential. something i would want to make an appearance in. the SS wasnt nearly as fast, came with all wheel drive (no burnouts :( lol ),and didnt look as good, but it was still a more usable truck. then there was the srt10. i wouldve been afraid to look at it funny!

  • @chaynestheman Yeah I agree. IMO if you were going to buy the Lightning you didn't really need a truck in the first place. I know a few people that bought them just because the insurance ran a little lower then the Vette's that couldn't keep up. That's all changed now though, the Vette's are nasty as hell and the Lightning has faded into obscurity. I've always disliked Chevy for some reason, it might be do to the S10 that I rolled...lol, but the SRT10 oh hell yes, and some of those came stick.

  • @dewolfe13 omg yeah, those POS autos that came in the lightning. >:( my first car was a camaro ss. so i have a soft spot for the bowtie. BUT i appreciate a nice car when i see it. whether it be a ford, mopar, pontiac, whatever. actually just drove the harley davidson f150 again today. :D pure joy.

  • @chaynestheman I agree, anything with a stick and thrills is just awesome. I would still rather drive anything with a stick that was involving and fun even if it were a little slow then something with a hell of a lot of power crappy handling and a slush box for a tranny. Although I love tail happy trucks, don't know why but I just do. something about being able to see your taillights in a corner! Right now I've got my eyes on one of those new F150 Raptor 4 doors that's a bad ass truck.

  • Those Cobalts are decently quick, the turbos are even faster. Chevy did a decent job, they are nearly as quick as the Dodge Neon SRT-4's were.

  • @al2683 ??? nearly as quick??

  • @focusizhere

Yep, not kidding, that SS is a quick car, it is nearly as fast as an SRT-4, you should drive one if you don't believe it. They did a great job with the car.

  • @al2683 your talking about the cobalt ss/sc right?

  • @focusizhere

No no, the turbo model is even quicker. If you are thinking of the S/C model it was fairly quick but really fell on its face in 3rd gear.

  • @focusizhere You can find a SS/SC for under 10k now and for less than $500 more from ZZ Performance, it will be faster than a stock SS/TC with their stage kit.

  • @chevydude2 if you find a cobalt SS/SC for under 10k your looking at a car in terrible shape with well over 80k miles on it and if not already then VERY soon in need if repairs.

  • @focusizhere. My buddy picked up an 05 with 45k on the odo for 10k and it's a 9 inside and out. He did 228whp on a dynojet with a k&n and a flowmaster. $500 later he was putting down 260whp on the same dyno with a ZZP STG 3. They're out there. We drove several in the 9500-1200 range in very nice condition with miles under 55k. We did see some beat up ones as well though.

  • @chevydude2 well he found a rare and really good deal...and is that on the default psi with the 228whp?

  • @focusizhere Yes, he did 228whp on the stock pulley.

  • wow that was weak

  • @goldenglove25 your fuckn weak

  • @MegaDustin1991 LMFAO...dont cry...my cobalt would kick both those vehicles ass....the 2 fucks dont know how to drive...shit this vid was weak just like your punk ass lol...must be you pussy ass cobalt puss....

  • sounds like the power steering pump is acting up

  • @dave360dave lol im not sure if you were joking or not but the cobalt ss is blown.

  • @saxyjazz123 lol yea i was joking your car??? if so nice im not much of a car guy more trucks but nice car.

  • @dave360dave oh no its not mine. i wish i had one. lol i like them fairly well. ya some trucks are pretty cool but im more of a car guy. mostly i like american cars a few imports are okay but im a chevy guy. i know a cobalt ss is chevy's ticket to tuner land haha and not a muscle car. but they get decent mileage and are still fun to drive so thats what im lookin for right now.

  • nice video but that wasn't a ss silverado.

  • not even close to a sss. some ppl are just that sad. that is ugly as fuck!!!

  • Don't be so sure the Silverado was not a real SS. It's heavy and it's dstats are not pretty for having 340hp. 0-60 of 6.7 and a QT of 15.1 are its stock stats The Cobalt has 6.4 0.60 and A 14.9QT. So yeah this looks pretty accurate sadly.

  • Sad ltl P.O.S.... chevy puts ss on anything now don't they?

  • Sounded like a cobalt ss/sc to me, not bad. Nice car

  • battle of the slow.. awesome.. at least get legit ss's even the newer cobalt ss/tc is more badass

  • @blitzkrieg2003

Comments like this are useless and unnecessary. I wouldn't call that car fast by any means but for VERY little money I was running consistent 13.7's. That car has longs since been sold and I now have a 2009 Cobalt SS Turbo, tuned with a few little mods. I have many video's of the new car on here but don't bother leaving negative comments as I will delete them.

  • @cotucker what are you afraid of criticism? I owned until recently a Cobalt SS/SC, but it had way to many problems, like I said above the SS/TC is a much better car all around and quicker, it will be interesting to see how reliable they are after a few years though.

  • @blitzkrieg2003 wow..you must a german you fuckin Kraut. leave the kid alone.

hey nice job on that update to a TC cobalt cotucker. i own a cobalt too and love it

  • @MrMilitary22 haha and you must like getting teabagged by G.W. Either way I said his TC was a better car for what it is.

  • @blitzkrieg2003 i was giving you a compliment asshole.

  • Cobalt red lighted

  • my friend thai pisenakornkit had a 91 swb 350 tbi 5 speed with paxton novi 2000 ran 8.2s on street tires 7.6s on slick on this same track lol cant believe that my track man

  • all this arguing over a slow car race lmaothey both are lame and there both slow especialy the ss ss s are just slow big deal you want a fast chevy get a vette 2010 zr1 prefered or sc an older one somthin chit

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if people get that the apostrophes are to indicate that it's not a real Silverado SS.

  • Ding ding ding! We have a winner. I have stated on here many times that it was not really a SS and people are still arguing about it.

  • @cotucker Yeah, they should make people that edit stuff on Youtube like they do on Wikipedia.

  • Not a real silverrado SS

  • you can hear the whine of the supercharger (:

  • 69ovette, your daddy is wrong Silverado ss came out from 2003-2007 or 2006. Not sure. But not 2000. That's why the engine is the same.

  • no you are wrong sir i will send you pics if I must it is a 2000 chevrolet ss with a 4.8 litre v8 in it

  • great race!!!

  • ummm is this in the houston area? cause the place seems so familiar....

  • No thats in Fort Worth

  • like fort worth, fl?

  • Fort Worth, TX

  • oh lol

  • Does anyone know how much a white cobalt ss is . new and used .. like a estimate.

  • new it would be around 22k and used should be around 17k depending how many miles are on it.

  • 12ish now for 10,000ish

  • Maybe for an 07 2.4(naturally aspirated) SS with 1k miles. The supercharged SS never came in white. You can get the turbo SS in white but not for 12k. If a white 2.4 n/a is what you want, you can get those for well under 12k(05-06).

  • hey my daddys got a chevy ss 2000 model but the motor in it is not any bigger than anyothers

  • chesvy didnt make a silverado ss in 2000

  • well sorry im not stock killer. my wife has a 08 turbo ss cobalt its pretty damn fast. i agree stock to stock the new cobalt will get it but not by much.

  • Now I have one of the new turbo cobalts aswell. 09 Cobalt SS sedan. The new SS stock was just a touch slower than the old one in this vid. Now that I am tuned the old car doesn't stand a chance.

  • not a ss i promise. i have a silverado ss and i havent found a ss colbat to hang yet. nice vid though

  • Stock for stock the ss silverado will loose to the cobalt ss. Sorry but you must be racing the 2.4 version. Mods are a different out come.

  • agreed...i already left a silverado ss wondering what happend in my ss/tc...

  • i have a silveradoo SS, A REAL one I might add, and I hate to say it but a 09 colbalt SS would kill a stock silverado SS, its called power to weight ratio

  • @gmcsierragt LOL thanks tips

  • @gmcsierragt well its not white bro its silver

  • @MegaDustin1991 the Cobalt is silver that silverado is white and its definately not a true silverado SS, just a clone, he has a SS front bumper but thats about it

  • @gmcsierragt someone who drives a truck with sense about them lol jk . thank you for the honesty sir. Maybe people can follow the lead here!!

  • Question. I seen a chevy truck the other day kinda looked like a boxy SS but was at least an 07. The tail gate said SXT in big custom letters. Isnt SXT a dodge thing? Just wondering what the truck really was. It was a single cab also.

  • SXT is dodge... that just means the sportier package...

  • I am glad to see SAAB engines being put to good use!

  • yea that truck aint an ss i kinda know that guy

  • yep, I think you're right. My mistake.

  • I agree with the guy two down. I have a 2003 SS Silverado. One of the features on the Silverado is AWD. That truck spins its rear tires. I spanked ass on a SS Cobalt the other night...with 4 other people in the truck.

  • AWD only came on the earlier SS's. They switched to RWD later on.

  • I'm sure that cobalt wasn't supercharged either! Congrats! I pwned an SS Silverado stock...couldn't imagine the damage now with my stage kit.

  • ofcourse that cobalt was supercharged, you can hear that shit pretty distinct. don't be a re-re!

  • I think he was referring to the cobalt ss that

    billybong07 raced.

  • you could clearly hear the supercharger

  • Naw man, I was joking :) the cobalt owner is a friend of mine.

  • ...And I was talking about Billbong07's claim of whooping an SS cobalt...which was probably a SS naturally aspirated cobalt...

  • naw bro thats a fake i own a 05 silverado ss black...thay never came white and them rims suck on there..

  • Unless thats custom paint (which it could be)Its NOT a true SS. They NEVER came in white. And all 4 doors open on an orig. Silvy SS but the rear open suicide style just like any other GM Extended cab. Im Call BS on this bein a true SS

  • the ss is an extended cab 4 door ( i have one) but the one in this video is not a ss it is missing the cladding on the sides.

  • i'm pretty sure the silverado ss is awd until this year wheh rwd was an option... i call fake on the siverado.. either way nice kill

  • theres no such thing as a four door ss silverado. i should know i work for gm.

  • @juvy1013 actuallythe Silverado SS 2003 to 2006 are ALL extended cabs and are ALL 4 doors, I have one and Ive never seen a REAL Silverado SS between 03-06 that wasnt a 4 door

  • Its an extended cap but I agree with you. When you put SS badges on any thing it becomes an SS. Thanks for the complement.

  • haha, they don't make a 4 door Silvy SS, so they guy was retarded. Nice balt.

  • Comment removed

  • Show me a link, I thought they were checked... I used to have a full size Chevy, and was pretty active in the GM Fullsize World

  • @rebeldragon69 yes they do, mines a 4 door and its sitting right in the driveway and it is a real Silverado SS

  • A 2004 ford lightning would woop both of those, that was not a cobalt SS.

  • aah, yea that is a Cobalt SS/SC and a Viper will beet a 2004 ford lighting, so whats your point?

  • well no shit a viper would beat a lightning, I was saying a lighting would beat the cars in this video.

  • Well I am saying no shit a 2004 lighting will beat both the cars in the video. There was just no point in posting that, because there was no debate on it.

  • OK Chevy lover

  • Wow! thats good glad you are retarded.

  • Take a look at the entire front fascia/hood, It's not an SS. Among other things that give it off...

Comming from a Silverado SS owner

I hate when people call their car/truck something it's not.

Anyway - Nice cobalt SS man =D

  • I guess the guy thinks just because its quick he can call it an SS. Some people are just born to be posers.

  • Agree!!

  • Maybe you should have looked at the introduction before posting you asshat. Thanks for stating the obvious.

  • Thanks. Yea the damn traction as you well know is a bitch with these cars. I got most of the wheel-hop taken care of with the mounts. I think with a little better tire than stock it will be completely gone for me.

  • Chek out my vids but this was a good run though.

  • Nice vids. What does your truck run? Once the weather get better I will get allot more vids up.

  • I'm running 12.9 13.0

  • Nice! I am not there yet but I don't think I am to far away. Just need to fix some traction issues and that will be a big chunk of time off.

  • that truck is not an ss A: there were no white ss' made, i realize he may have painted it, but... B:He does a burnout before the race and its obviously not awd, as well i realize that 05 was the last year of awd so it might be an 06 or newer but it has the older non HD hood that came on the 06's it just had a cowel hood put on it.....not an ss

  • It may have not been an ss but it was allot faster than I thought it would be. He was also having trouble doing his burn out to heat his slicks up, and would bog. I don't know much about the SS's. His time was a 9.6

  • hard to tell? You cant hear that supercharger???

  • It is hard to hear the supercharger over the truck but when the car goes buy the camera you can here it. The supercharger is loud as hell normally. If you check out my other videos you can here it.
