Thank you and peace to you my friend as well where ever you live:-)

  • This command works to shut down the screen: ctrl+shift+eject

  • 2:40 to save you watching endless 3 minutes, just jump to the overview.

Or ctrl + alt + cmd + eject to shut your mac down :-)

  • when i want to turn off my macbook pro, I just press power on/off button and then Return. Thats still 2 buttons. Your way I would have to press 4 buttons. But nonetheless, nice video. Now i know how to restart my macbook quickly. thanks!

  • nice

  • whats a jumpcut? or when you held the apple and "V"?

  • This is just the info I was looking for. Thanks for sharing!

  • at 2:08 what's comment ?

  • Time saver? How occupied is you'd life? This ideology needs som time saving; just cut to the case man.

  • Do u need the powerbutton to start the Mac when it's turned off?

  • So confusing. So lame.

Windows keyboard shutdown makes more sense. Easier.

  • @Weswada trust me.....NOTHING is easier on windows........not even turning that piece of shit off......

  • @kyledoherty - there is one thing that's really easy to do with windows -- wipe it out and install ANY linux variant. you'll never face the evils from redmond....

  • Actually, pressing the Power Button and Return or Enter is faster. The Shutdown button is the default, so, pressing Return/Enter selects it.

  • Thanks yo!

  • thanks a lot i didnt know how to do it and was wondering

  • You have a sexy voice. :-)

  • What was the "command-V" keys for after the restart?

  • thanks for this video, men.

i just want to learn on Mac,

because GARAGEBAND is what i like on Mac.

  • Awesome!

  • THNX!

  • sweet thanks dude this also works on my ibook g4

  • Thanks mate

  • if i hit power button then enter i don't use the mouse and is just as quick

  • thanks

  • Way to stretch a 15 second video to 3 min! Also, saying out loud that you are "setting up a wide shot" and "about to do a jump cut" is really stellar. There's 3 min I'll never get back.

  • dude, shut the fuck up. Its a good video, and 7,675 others enjoyed it.

  • Thanks brother,it's very useful!

I told this great news to my Korean fellas.

    U rock!!!

  • nice man thx alot

i hav no idea how u got to kno that but thanx a lot

  • THANKS MAN!

  • Thanks!

  • that was a quick reboot - mac FTW

  • No dumbass. Video edit ftw.

  • Yup, good shortcuts.

Another way to put it to sleep is by pressing and holding the play button on apple remote.

  • I think I remember reading that in either the manual or some Apple tech doc, but since I never use the remote on my MacBook I completely forgot about this one. Good catch.

  • If you hold down the alt key while clicking on Sleep, Restart, Shutdown and Logout, it doesn't prompt you with any question.

  • The tech note I linked to states this should work in any version of Mac OS X and even Mac OS 9.

  • thas a good question

  • does this work for leopard?

  • why does everyone ask if things work in their operating system...all you have to do is try it on your computer and see what happens

  • Thanks !!!!!

  • thanks for the tip!

  • does this work on Macs with leapard?

  • Why haven't you gotten Leopard?

  • Man, I wish I really had a MacBook. Or ANY Mac for that matter.

  • Yeah, MAC is hard to use without shortcuts.

  • BS a thousand times, and it's Mac, not MAC (Mac is not an acronym, it's short for Macintosh). On a "Mac", most users use shortcut key commands because it's easier to do on a Mac. The finger ergonomics are much easier to use as opposed to a Windows PC. That's all... using key commands is by far, easier and quicker than using a mouse.

  • Nice tutorial video

  • Love you're vids, they're really practical and helpful unlike a lot of others.

  • not running leopard?

  • really handy!

i knew the sleep key command, but i did not know the restart and shut down commands.

    thanks.
