Madhuri has been offered both roles but choose to play Chandramukhi that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had to drop Sushmita Sen for Chandramukhi because he thought that Madhuri would be interested in Paro. He after that rehearsed half dozen actress includes Kareena Kapoor but finalized with Aishwarya Rai.
