I think what really elevates this song from just plain pop is Gene Cornish's guitar style. He could be very jazzy when the occasion called for it as on this song. But they were all very talented musicians. I noticed on a recent PBS fund drive that Gene is still rocking out as a member of the Rascals.
I never cared for this song no matter who sang it back during the 60's but the Rascals version was very listenable to being that Hammond B3 Organ in the back round made it just right. I always looked forward to Felix's 2 organ leads in this song.
Can you send me a copy of the poster you have that shows the "Henchmen" appearing? I have pictures of the Henchmen. This was my husbands last group before he went off to Vietnam and was wounded there.
is there any perticular reason why the british 60´s group the fingers is the thumbnail for this video ?

Eine sehr schöne Coverversion dieses Titels.
Vieleicht die gelungeste im Pop-Bereich.
Eddie Brigati´s Stimme, Felix Cavaliere´s Orgel, Dino Danelli´s Schlagzeug und die Gitarre von Gene Cornish.
Einfach genial.
Ganz besonders am Schluß dieses: One More Time.
Danke
