Reading some of these comment sometimes make me ashamed to be associated with the Christian religion. Carla is not a mixture of Shun Pace or Karen Clark Sheard. She is Carla! One of God's gifted children. Lets not tear each other down. There is enough world to evangelize! We all have to do our part and quit worrying about who is better. Yes she did copy some of the original runs and melismas that KCS did, but it just helps you identify more with the original artist's recording. I congratulate anyone who tries to sing a KCS song. She's a hard artist to follow. But the mere fact, that she mimicked some of Karen's originality is great! If more Ministers of Music made this practice, music could actually be more effective in church. People identify with what they hear on the RADIO.

It's funny how all of these Christians who are not musicians ( Meaning vocal instructors or who have been playing for more than 10 minutes) can make judgments about a vocalist.  In order for a song to actually be properly done, it should contain some of the originality of the recorded version, otherwise the message changes. People can make some variations but it should contain some of the original variations in the song. She took the song and made it her own.
