When i try and record a second track while listening to the first one, it records teh first one onto the second track as well. It gives me bad quality and its pretty annoying. Any suggestions?

There is a setting in Audactiy to change this. When you open Audacity, go to the top and click "Edit" then at the bottom of that list, click "Preferences". In the menu that pops up, make sure "Audio I/O" is checked, and put a checkmark in the box that says something like "Play track while recording new track"
Thank you so much for that "help" I was messing with it for an hour with no sound out of my master track, when I decided to see if there was a help on Youtube- voila there's you and your cat solving the problem. You rock, Sir. Thanks again.

when mine playes back the first recording it messes up the second one, even when I use headphones its still not on time, i need help

Yup, I always use headphones. But i don't use this anymore. My brother records me using Logic Pro.
