@johnnyxp64 thing is they already have the achievement system in place, it's a fairly simple copy from wow / sc2 and doesn't take alot of time to create, another Act thou... i mean realy its Huge how much more time is spent doing an act and doing the achievement system.

@johnnyxp64 Achievements are VERY simple lines of code, they take not even a percentage of production.

The UI is on the art guys, and trust me they are first to finish out of all teams available, so they work on random things. Or help other teams.

@pipedowndjh The banners are used in town. People can teleport to you from your banner near the waypoint. So let's say you're at an elite mob and somebody just joins your game. The newcomer can click on your banner (which will look different than everyone else's) and they port right next to you. No more of the hunting people down crap.

@SHITBRICKS2 I played the shit out of D2 and this game does not disappoint. There's a shit ton of new things that they've done so far that make it better. You pick up gold by running by it, the personal stash (and gold) is now shared between all toons, you can pay gold to increase the size of your stash, you can choose where in your quest line you want to start (if you want to do it all over again), blah blah blah nerdgasm. Beta is fucking heroine right now.

People, these achievements are merely placeholders for the beta so they can be TESTED. When the full game is launched they will have updated achievements. Thumbs up for the spread of knowledge!

@valeriy1987 Achievements can't solely be found in console gaming and I doubt it was even introduced there as well. Sure you could argue that Xbox 360 made it mainstream or more popular but that alone doesn't mean it's a bad thing. I for one and many other PC gamers think it's a great idea! It may be less important than many other things but I don't think there's anything wrong with having them there. Some people actually care abotu what the "accomplish" you know, in-game as well :)

You might be right, BUT I'd rather have Bliz concentrate on releasing the game earlier, then investing time and effort in this sort of crap. Keep in mind that 12 y/o "me" would probably love the achievement system. Current "me" just wants the damn game out, buggy if it is, but now!

@valeriy1987 Blizzard putting achievements into the game doesn't necessarily mean that the release will be delayed. What is to say that they don't have a separate team of people working only on this project or having time over to do it.

Also if you knew what a buggy game at release truly meant I'm sure you'd rather see a good and polished game at release rather then a broken and unplayable game (like some other game releases)...

@everett75 I believe those achievements will be scrapped anyway, much like all characters and items. I think they just want to test various triggers (ie hitting level cap -> hitting level cap with all etc). Achievements which are not obtainable by everyone are usually Feats of Strength just to make sure every player can always get 100% of achievements.

@everett75 Just like Force had to redo things post-patch, everything is likely to get reset post-launch. The system is being tested, and obviously is having issues. You may want to use the past actions of blizzard and their patch-policies to predict their future actions.
