He saved thousands of jobs, the union made it clear they would accept massive lay offs of there members prior to considering increased pension co pays, guess what greedy guys? the rest of us dont have pensions, why should we pay for yours!
With all the crazy people out there that kill innocent people why isn't there one that goes after these evil politicians? lol Like seriously, I don't get it. Kennedy gets sniped out by the CIA because he was going to make changes for the good and they were having non of that. Yet, they are able to get a coke user re-elected who should be charged for war crimes. If anyone thinks that the government is for the people they need to start looking at the facts and alternative media. 1984 is here.
The issue seems to be not private sector unions but public sector unions and it certainly appears the public sector unions damage individual thinking,or at least attempt to control at the expense of private sector taxpayers. Recall that FDR,Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were not fans of gov.sector unions
The Republican way: If you don't own the business you are nothing. They can bargain with other countries for deals? Then rape the USA when they get cheaper labor and sell their product for the same or more when the product get's brought into the USA.......Yeah that makes a alot of good for our country?
Hello, I was wondering if we could promote a one-day World Strike sometime this spring. In the US, the UK, in Spain, in Greece, in Ireland, in Egypt, in Tunisia, everyone, everywhere. A day in which every citizen, no matter what their job is (except maybe for doctors) would stop and withdraw enough money from the banks to bring these economic powers to their knees. There are more of us! Would you know how to organise such an event?
If you MORONS REALLY had a Violation of law on your hands, you would not be banging Bongos in the state house, you woul dbe holding a battle in State Court!!!!
Normally I don't get sucked into debates over political issues. Too many high emotions where people don't research what they spout to actually have a truly informed opinion. Thinking "about the children" is what I do when I spent 11 hours a day at school (that's not commute time either), an average of 2 hours of homework at night, and the 8-10 hours of planning/grading I do over the weekends. And mine is not an unusual story. Whether you choose to believe it or not is your own personal bubble.
Seriously? If I worried about the salary, I wouldn't still be in the profession after all these years. And believe it or not, the vast majority of teachers who are tenured have the same frustration with incompetent teachers in the classroom that can't be fired. My husband, who is NOT in the teaching profession, comes home with nightmare stories about people who work with him doing all kinds of stupid stuff that would get others fired but stay employed. Stupid is not confined to education.
Ahhh. That makes sense. I don't understand the sudden attack on teachers and public servants. Seriously, when they say that we make higher wages than the private sector, I don't know where they get their information. I don't know about other jobs, but teachers sure as heck don't make what our education should provide. I have my Masters and 30+ years...I'm not making it rich by any stretch. I just hope I can retire someday. At the moment, it doesn't look good.
@tcher48 Oh yeah, mostly it's about attempting to reduce union contribution to Democratic candidates. We as individuals are more than making up the slack already. Donations are pouring in faster than ever before.
From Chinese in Asia: Your evil greedy labour unions are a pox upon your once great nation as they drove your manufacturing out of the USA to us in Asia! Your enemy is within! You must ruthlessly PURGE your evil progressives as we do in Asia! Dr C Chan ccasia2000@gmail.com
@ccasia2008 Well there seems to be another who has got it right. But add the the fact the union leadership are just Marxists slobs and you get the whole picture.
@tcher48 I wish teachers and professional basketball players switched salaries. I really do. But, if you don't like the pay scale for teaching then how about you go into a different field? Don't act like you do anything for the children. If you did there would be no lousy tenured out teachers with one foot out the door and you wouldn't be picketing you'd be in the classroom "for the children". Jesus some of you union kool aid drinkers live in a bubble.
I was down at Capitol Square today. There were easily 200K there. Young and old, of every description (not a lot of tea-baggers though, in fact I didn't even see one), but there were quite a few FORMER Republicans judging by the signs I saw. This was clearly an over-reach on the part of the Repubs. There is a severe backlash against them. It was heartening to see everyone together. We are so fortunate to have Walker as an enemy, he has united us against him. I am encouraged by that. : )
@tcher48 The contribution to the retirement fund was in lieu of higher wages, by contract. This bill is not only about teachers and unions though, it's a general attack on the middle class to in favor of the rich. It will be overturned. Walker and the Rs, came in, gave tax breaks to corporate freeloaders, then took the crisis he created to the middle class to "share the burden". This is all about driving down labor costs because there are some jobs that just can't be shipped overseas.
Federal courts prohibit public-sector bargaining, saying, “All citizens have the right to associate in groups to advocate their special interests to the government. But not to grant any one interest group special status and access to the decision-making process.”
A law granting public-sector unions monopoly bargaining privileges gives a union, a special interest group special status. First, it uses its political clout to elect public officials. Then it negotiates with the very same officials.
@northpal2 A very reasonable argument. I applaud you. However, the tables can be turned you know. How is it that corporations do exactly the same when negotiating and providing services to the state for a profit, yet they are not considered to have "special status". What, fundamentally, is different about this? Hmm? You may not see this hypocrisy, but we do. The solution is to remove all artificial persons from the process, or none, but not just the select ones you happen to disagree with. No?
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER You seem to miss the whole point. Is it evasiveness or just bad eyesight ? Its NOT an ARGUMENT. It is a FEDERAL COURT ruling and case law. There is no Corporation with exclusivity for non production contracting with the government. "remove all artificial persons", it was you Marxists putzes of the Red Shields that brought in artificial persons, does civil war, 1871, 14th amendment ring a bell ??? You are an artificial person, birth certificate,SS WAKE UP!.
@northpal2 quote: "There is no Corporation with exclusivity for non production contracting with the government." That's not true. Haliburton and Blackwater (now Xe) come immediately to mind. In any case you miss the point there, it's simple. Corporations contribute to the very same politicians who will be deciding procurement, tax breaks, regulations, etc. that directly affect them, and yes, unions do a similar thing. The cause of the budget shortfall was not unions however, it was Wall Street.
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Oh really??? So what state or any level of government has a contract with Blackwater or whoever which represents state or any level of government of employees ??? Or should I say , public servants. If polls are correct and and 46% of Wisconsins agree with the Governor, while 36.2 percent of all workers are public sector unionized then the true % of folks paying the bills agreeing = 78%. Yes We the people have spoken!
@northpal2 Well that's true I don't know of any state or local contracts with those two. I was thinking generally. I don't understand the rest of your comment though. I don't follow your reasoning. Please explain more clearly. My point still stands that corporations are donating to politicians who then make fiscal decisions that are are at least an equal conflict of interest to that posed by unions. I acknowledge your concerns but you won't acknowledge mine. Is there no common ground here?
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER You are trying to mask the marxist movement and influence with a straw man argument about corporations. We are seeing right before our eyes the posionous tentacles of public sector unions and the communist SDS. Public sector unions are molded into a mindless voting block, like good little commrades.
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER "Demagoguery and slogans" or truth ? You are the one with anti capitalism , it's the all corporations fault. Meanwhile you fail to mention that generally, unions ARE incorporated. You are just another marxist led fool trying to feather his nest at everyone elses expense. In the end it is YOU the unproductive the marxist get rid of first. The students for a democratic society (underground weathermen - Bill Ayers - Obama buddy) are just goyim pulling the plow.
@northpal2 Well that's slightly better. I wasn't aware of the legal niceties of union incorporation, but that doesn't change my views. I am not anti-capitalism, I believe it must be moderated by law or we will eventually become 1% rich, 15% middle class, and 84% poor like in the 19th century. Maybe conservatives want to go back there but the rest of us aren't interested in following. There are extremes on both sides and you should know. btw I'm not a Marxist, I'm a scientist... even scarier ehh?
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Well if that is truly the case then you need to be educated to your true history. That information is expressed at thewatchmen.FM The first thing you have to wrap your head around is that we don't have real money, we have debt notes used for legal tender in lieu. The reece commision that was quashed in the 1950's quite matter of fact uncovered the purpose of Tax-exempt Foundations. Then you will get a glimpse of whats really going on. But its all up to your quest for truth.
@northpal2 I do subscribe to the idea that just because you're paranoid does NOT mean that they're NOT out to get you. On the other hand there is a lot of smoke and mirrors and political noise out there designed to distract the people. I don't attempt to make any sense of it. I just look at the results. What would be the point, the possible purpose, of driving down the middle-class? World domination by a hidden uber-rich plutocracy or something else? Do you think it's that organized?
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER What you are saying is you are a lazy coward. All those who who do not value freedom do absolutely nothing. I am not sure why you have a name like "C0L0NELM0RTIMER" since cowards normally evade any type of service, they prefer others do the heavy lifting then slither in to share the fruits of victory. But then again even though we only deal in documented proof of things, WE are paranoid. Not you, the goyim pulling the marxist plow.
@northpal2 No that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying I think you've latched on to comfortable set of ideas for yourself and you respond to other ideas with insults and slogans. I was trying to find common ground but you're plainly not interested. You do betray your lack of substance so, by all means, rant on to your heart's content. It helps when others see the lack of integrity in those we oppose.
Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper.
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER You don't get it, there will be NO compromise like in the 1960's. Marxist will leave American soil or die. Thats it , thats the bottom line. The elite want a race war , civil war or what ever , they are getting more than they bargained for, plain and simple. We have watched the socialists destroy this country, her values, her constitution for far too long. And stick that democracy crap where the sun don't shine, as for what right we have. RACK THE SLIDE BACK.
@northpal2 Yeah, that's the stuff! Your violent fantasies open a window to your damaged mind. Sorry Pal, the American people at large do not, and would not, support what you espouse, not even the majority of the right-wing. You're living in a fantasy world. The worms are eating your brain. Go ahead, rack the slide back. Now what? What can you do? You're helpless. Those commie hoards in your head will overwhelm you even in your dreams.
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER It seems we smoked out another commie. You know nothing of an oath to protect and preserve THE constitution of America. You commies have been put on notice. "American people at large" is another commie tell tale sign, you have been infected by democracy. America is a Republic you moron. Americans have spoken in Wisconsin and you bang your heads and wave your banners, then grasp at straws with the rich against the poor bogey man. You are financed by the wealthy, now why is that?
“It had been observed that a pure democracy if it were practicable would be the most perfect government. Experience had proved that no position is more false than this. The ancient democracies in which the people themselves deliberated never possessed one good feature of government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity.”
“The adoption of Democracy as a form of Government by all European nations is fatal to good Government, to liberty, to law and order, to respect for authority, and to religion, and must eventually produce a state of chaos from which a new world tyranny will arise.”
James Madison, in Federalist Paper No. 10, said that in a pure democracy, “there is nothing to check the inducement to sacrifice the weaker party or the obnoxious individual.” Walter Williams
@GammaRay43 That goes for you too. Your citations are few and out of context. Try reading instead of copy/pasting. There were and still are many opinions, and you have yours. In fact, it's clear to me that you filter everything through your own narrow preconceived viewpoint, without ever considering another. You are an extremist. You're not interested in dialog, only sophistry. I am flattered by your attention however. It makes me all tingly to know that you care.
It please me to watch you slither away. I don't need to cite. You don't. You lie and distort as do most lefties. And to cut and paste one must perforce read you dolt.
I am an extremist. You, however, are the sophist. And you need to stay in the sandbox. You get all emo when I call you out.
@GammaRay43 Remember when you cited the data at open secrets*org? How you pointed out the top 10? How the unions gave so much to the Dems? Remember how I looked at the top 140 and it turns out unions and PACs only account for 14% of campaign contributions but Corporations and Trade Associations account for all the rest? When you tried to make a point with the top 10 but ignored the rest of the data, that's sophistry. You're wrong as usual. Please tell me more about how you hate democracy and why
You simpleton. Did you bother to take note of the little red elephants and the little blue donkies on the right? Money is only part of the scam. And I did a sort and the unions still come out on top of political bribery. Did you go to school in Wisconsin? Hell, even the top 14 (with a couple of fliers) is STILL reeking of blue donkey dough.
Keep opening the door into your face morty. Meanwhile your union thugs are sending death threats to your enemies. Happy?
@GammaRay43 Not only did I note the elephants and donkeys, I noted the percentages, and the totals... and you're wrong. The corporations beat out unions by a WIDE margin. Your lies and sophist arguments never end do they? / "Hell, even the top 14 (with a couple of fliers)" - what do you mean "fliers", are you trying to say "outliers"? It's cute when you try to use big words you don't understand. You must have gone to school in rural Georgia. Pity.
@GammaRay43 I'm not familiar with this quote you produced. I could find a few quotes myself, but I prefer to speak for myself. In the case of right-wing radicals, the rule seems to be to do what you can with what little you have and clothe it with empty slogans. Does it give you a cheap exhibitionist thrill to expose yourself online? Did you not want to discuss your personal hatred of Democracy or what? Wouldn't it be fun to get that out in the open? Please. Just a little more, OK?
Dear me, You are not familiar? Now I'm responsible for your ignorance. You hate liberty? I am shocked that you would feel that way. Why don't you tell us more about it? I want your true feelings now.
At the 1787 Constitutional Convention, Virginia Gov. Edmund Randolph said, “... that in tracing these evils to their origin every man had found it in the turbulence and follies of democracy.” John Adams said, “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There was never a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” Alexander Hamilton said, “We are now forming a Republican form of government. -- Walter Williams
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER are you that dense - democracy is nothing more than MOB RULE. And you have perfect example here. A bunch of commies trying to vote the property and sweat equity of others for themselves. And no the fore fathers did not admire DEMON OCRACY , the abhorred it.
@northpal2 Cherry picking a few sources proves nothing. They were quite correct in recognizing that a pure democracy could not work. They created a representative democracy (one of several kinds of republics). So we are indeed a republic AND a democracy. They didn't believe it was good, but that it was the best of the alternatives they had. That's why we have a system of checks and balances on government power and hold elections every two years, to try to prevent the "tyranny of the majority".
@northpal2 Do you have any idea what your talking about!? An attack on unions is an attack on ALL working Americans, yet you just want to plug your ears and pretend that nothings wrong. Well now their are protests all over the country against the cuts in education, police, firefighting and other essential services while the rich get tax cuts! Americans are waking up and are no longer bound by your fear mongering insanity.
Stand Together America! Fight the Corporate Interests!
@Winterwolf00 "An attack on unions is an attack on ALL working Americans" - And that commie rhetoric makes sense to you ? And you know what you are talking about ? This is about (follow it now mush head) P U B L I C S E C T O R U N I O N S. Federal courts have ruled them illegal. Can you follow that ? MUSH HEAD , put the bong down for a minute. ALL working Americans are being forced to pay the non-productive few, THATS what you are advocating. because you are a COMMIE
@northpal2 You know, the word Commie loses its meaning when you just use it to describe everything you don't agree with. Also, I know that you may not be aware of this, but among civilized debaters personal attacks are a good way to make yourself look ignorant.
@Winterwolf00 No the term not word COMMIE is what seems to disturb how about a wolves in sheep's clothing, theN again the best way to describe that is COMMIE. "civilized debaters" "An attack on unions is an attack on ALL working Americans"
Well deindustrializing has done that thanks to your UNIONS and the whacko commies that run them. "cuts in education, police, firefighting and other essential services" - self sufficiency not dependency is what America is about.
This is America! You have the duty to overthrow radical governments in our Declaration of Independence. So protect your right to be armed and protest peacefully until they deploy national guard. Then you have the DUTY to overthrow radical government. This is America and you are free to bear arms, form militias, vote, and assemble.
@marifran1971 If you do not know the history of what Unions have done for our country, nor do you understand their most important function, you really should just shut up. Unions have abused their power, but when compared to Republicans, they are Saints.
@xinecallaw I'm not a supporter of Republicans. I understand what their important function USED to be and I understand what they are now. You should give that a try. And I don't have to shut up. Ever.
@marifran1971 Your personal feeling reflects little on reality. According to Rassmussen (right-leaning) poll 57% oppose weakening collective bargaining, 39% favor. If the government will not listen to the voice of the people, the government will fall. Simple as that. In Nov. the voters wanted change, but not this change. Don't tell us to go back to work, we work very hard for the people of WI. If we stop working you will finally understand what government does. Wake up, and stop being a victim.
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Yea go look at the question asked btw in the poll. I'm sure you wont let fact get in the way of your emotion. If you don't go back to work it would be the best thing for the country!! There are a whole bunch of people that would be happy to take your job cuts and all. Spoiled babies.
@marifran1971 Sure there would be lots who would like our jobs, but few have the education to do them. I didn't go to school for 21 years to get a job with poor wages, and poor benefits. But whatever... my wife and I are looking for new jobs elsewhere; when we find them, we will leave. There are a lot more like us too. Wisconsin will go down the drain as professionals like us leave. Good luck finding qualified replacements! We did not create this mess, and you're barking up the wrong tree. ; )
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Well hurry up and go already. You think too much of yourselves. You are easily replaced. Hopefully with someone who does not think they are above the rest of us. Hopefully you're not a teacher with tenure who can't be fired even when it's deserved. Ugh. bye bye
@marifran1971 I meet so many ugly, hateful, people here on YT. It's difficult to understand why you hate the middle-class so much, while turning a blind eye to the abuses of the wealthy executives, and their lap-dog politicians, who lie to get into power, then turn on a dime and stab the voters in the back afterwards. Seriously folks, I'm not a rabid left-winger, but Walker is as corrupt as they come, left or right. Watch the economy now and see how it does. Care to wager?
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER My husband was laid off two years ago and my family and I haven't had health care since. I don't think Unions were always corrupt, my grandpa worked in the coal mines and he certainly could have used a union back then. Now they are corrupt lobbyists. I know they get workers lots of good stuff but there's a price to be paid. Start with teachers and tenure and damn if you don't like the benefits at your job there are tons if non union jobs with ... get this GREAT BENEFITS/PAY.
@marifran1971 I looked at those questions. I didn't see anything wrong. What were you referring to? I did notice some other numbers that were even more interesting. Did you know that just 34% Strongly approve of the job Walker is doing, while 48% Strongly disapprove? That was before March 4th. I'm quite certain his numbers have dropped after the passage of the bill, but I look forward to seeing them in a few days. Rasmussen is statistically a bit to the right, so if they say this, we win! : )
@joe035 I have an idea!! Let’s have our states emulate the most successful states in academic achievement!! So, let’s see...Massachusetts usually leads the way...hmmmm, but wait! They have the STRONGEST COLLECTIVE BARGAINING RIGHTS IN THE COUNTRY. Well, let’s look at South Carolina...they’re a CONSERVATIVE STATE...they must be doing something right. Wait, they’re like, at the BOTTOM in academic performance. And they have NO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING RIGHTS!
@demmmmm1 Oh please. If you have to take cuts to life like the rest of the world that makes an elected official that disagrees with you a dictator? UNION THUGS are dictator bullies!! Say goodbye to UNIONS ... FINALLY!!!
@wtfjaftw LOL I too make that same argument- that if this is such an unfair country, leave! Go to Sweden or Canada, where life isn't like a black and white holocaust video of 40lb adults cradling their dead infants behind barbed wire fences like here in America. Referencing the Wis. gov. to Hitler bc he is addressing the state budget deficit clearly proves the insanity of, well, not only some of the unions but all those hippies, anarchists, commies, etc they bussed in from all over the country
@wtfjaftw My only answer is that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder, bred by a segment of society that collectively hates those who reap the benefits of their own hard work. Their sense of entitlement is not only unfounded it is unhealthy and detrimental in many ways to a society. I believe every American is accountable for his actions and health, and I doubt legalizing certain drugs would be as harmful as some presume, so as long as the TRUTH about the safety of drugs is properly taught.
@Rammagith Wow. That’s twisted. How on earth is it that we give billions in subsidies to the most profitable businesses on the entire planet, give tax cuts to the rich, loopholes beyond imagine, Wall St. bailouts on the backs of the middle-class, and in a country where a hedge fund manager can make $1BILLION in a year, you are dim enough to say that TEACHERS feel “entitled?” Workers feel “entitled?”
Reap the benefits of their own hard work? Then tell that to Governor Walker who wants to make it harder for small business people in the craft brewery business to profit. Governor Walker is in the pocket of the mega brewery, MillerCoors, which wants to control how the microbreweries do business in Wisconsin. If you don't believe me google Walker and breweries. Conservatives for Business? More like conservatives for BIG BUSINESS.
@schroff1968 If that is true then I don't agree with it and it's wrong. I doubt America will elect a politician who isn't a puppet of lobbyists or big business to some extent in our lifetime, however, as terrible as it sounds. Money buys elections/power, and big business has the money. It's not really a left or right wing problem bc both are in bg bsness big time. Lets face it, all the Washington bickering is about how to spend money and where. There's one solution I think can help...
@schroff1968 We can stop playing world police and allow our allies to take on the roles we shouldn't be doing now, or not do it at all. We wouldn't be having this talk if we hadn't invaded Iraq, or actually did something in Afg. that produced something other than a dead American soldier for no reason. If we actually stop all this intervention shit around the world, NO American would go hungry, we would have a surplus, and the craft beer business would boom like hell. Until then... >8 - (
@wtfjaftw Having someone like Ron Paul would be very, very interesting...someone who represents the constitution above all else is too much for Washington D.C. evidently. No, evidently that old text written by a bunch of white male racists has no use in "today's" world, where the poor suffer at the hands of the wealthy, where muslims are terrorized by Christians, where hispanics are persecuted simply bc they are smuggling 100lb of blow across the border...Even saying this with sarcasm hurts!
What he is proposing isn't damaging to the lives of the state employees. What the hell can't the unions understand about the gov saying "WE ARE BROKE" and must cut public wages and benefits by a small percentage? You think the majority of the private sect jobs have it well? You can point to a small portion who do but they dont represent the state of the economy, where the huge amount of workers have it rough.
Madison, Wisconsin (CNN) -- Wisconsin's Republican-led state Senate passed Gov. Scott Walker's proposed restrictions on collective bargaining for public employees Wednesday, getting around a Democratic walkout by stripping financial provisions from the bill.
Gov. Walker has been offering deals to the deviant leftists and they will not bend. This is proof that the left has an all or nothing approach to the negotiating. As far as I'm concerned I would fire every last one of these communists.
So far it seems the only ones NOT willing to make any concessions are the union bosses. The union members have accepted them but the union itself won't give up it's control or reduce it's income. Get rid of the unions so there will be more for the workers.
To the liberals, progressives, and independents: I recommend not engaging these right-wingers with insults and slogans. It's what they want. I made that mistake too. They want to drag us down to their level of demagoguery. It cheapens our position. Get unbiased facts and challenge them with cogent arguments. It either enrages them, and they make fools of themselves, or you might bring them up to the level of using rhetoric instead. Then it's easier to shine a light on their errors.
Wisconsin's South Central Federation of Labor Issues General Strike Warning The federation of 45,000 workers, went on record on Feb. 21, as opposing all provisions in Walker's bill,"and voted to endorse preparations for a general strike. While this is just a threat at this point, the decision is a tremendous step forward. Such a strike would take much effort and courage, but if shutting down the economy is what is needed to get the bill repealed, then that's what labor needs to do.
@JumpyJillian If you believe the T-party is Grass Roots I have some beachfront propery in Arizona you can have for a good price, and BTW the American Taliban, excuse me I mean T-party (libertarians when convienient) are as Anti-American as you can get
hah bad timing for walker to consider the national guard. When the public focus is looking at dictators doing the same thing all across the middle east.
You're broke Walker? Where'd you get the money to pay the rich? 67million. $67MILLION you stupid fool. Now you do a 180 and tear down middle/lower class wages?
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Go fuck yourself.
As Always Gamma ray Shies for any contest. A real Capitalist! This Guy or who ever him self to of.Champions go Programs of the rich and well to do. Make no Mistakes these assholes have only one Agenda. Destroy Unions. A True Capitalist visions anew Revelation to make the rich richer .capitulation is nothing but a destructive force which will dissolve itself do to its own greed
Sweetcheeks, Let me make it clear for you: UNIONS ARE EVIL. I WISH TO DESTROY ALL UNIONS. I DESIRE ALL UNION THUGS TO GET THEIR HANDS OUT OF MY POCKETS.
There. Clear enough?
Oh and I love the rich. They pay the bills you cretin.
"Make no Mistakes these assholes have only one Agenda. Destroy Unions. A True Capitalist visions anew Revelation to make the rich richer .capitulation is nothing but a destructive force which will dissolve itself do to its own greed"
Are you really this dense? Try to wrap your big union thug arms around this honey: No capitalism, no taxes. No taxes, no State jobs. No State jobs, no unions.
This governor is nothing more than a regime unlike any Dictator. A protract of the rich and well to do. This is a test of the well too do. And the the weak. so much for democracy!
I must say gdude. You most definitely went to Wisconsin public schools. One of those $100,000 a year teachers taught you all about spelling, sentence structure and even coherence in paragraphs.
No doubt your children will be as uneducated as you are. But they will not need to be well educated. Getting on the State pad with lush pensions and great pay and free healthcare is the way to go. Just join a union and stick the taxpayer with the bill for your fat cat union life.
"Madison, Wisconsin (CNN) -- Wisconsin's Republican-led state Senate passed Gov. Scott Walker's proposed restrictions on collective bargaining for public employees Wednesday, getting around a Democratic walkout by stripping financial provisions from the bill."
It seems Wis. only requires 25% of the last vote for said position to initiate a recall and with 2160832 votes cast, You guys should be able to recall him with only 540208 signatures, People Of Wisconsin get to work !
My Governor do have a conscience? is it all you think about? Are you just another Minion of the those who are rich? Are you just another no one person who see's yes to everything those around you say?The decisions you make today will impact you your children of tomorrow. Please stand by your beliefs If you really believe in this country. Stand up to those who are those less fortunate.Stand up for America This Country at this time calls for you. make this correct decision this will be your lagacy
My union boss do have a conscience? is it all you think about? Are you just another Minion of the those who are rich? Are you just another no one person who see's yes to everything those around you say?The decisions you make today will impact you your children of tomorrow. Please stand by your beliefs If you really believe in this country. And please stop giving my money to the mob. And the democrat party. Please have a heart.
I believe this so called Governor. This Fox news Greed network Is nothing more more than built on nothing more than Capitulation greed

"Wrong. the internet was created with Gov't investment and not "born of the free market" , Tax dollars built the foundation for the online freedom we enjoy"
Wrong again el stupido, The original "internet" was used by universities and government think tanks to communicate. Oh wait....my bad. Al Gore invented the internet in his garage. That clever sex poodle!
"...several research programs started to explore and articulate principles of communications between physically separate systems, leading to the development of the packet switching model of digital networking. These research efforts included those of the laboratories of Vinton G. Cerf at Stanford University, Donald Davies (NPL), Paul Baran (RAND Corporation), and Leonard Kleinrock at MIT and at UCLA. "
@GammaRay43 You seem to leave out Uncle Sam funding theese guys as well as being the one who decided the world needed such a thing, the USA Gov't created the internet, it is simply history no matter what parragraph you pull out of context

It is obvious what the fraudulent issue of fascism versus communism accomplishes: it sets up, as opposites, two variants of the same political system; it eliminates the possibility of considering capitalism; ....cont.
@GammaRay43 Wow, this seems out of character. It almost seems like you're actually beginning to get something like a political theory going, but it seems kinda disjointed and incoherent. Please try to refine that further and communicate more clearly. This might be truly interesting. I must say GR, you are getting downright entertaining. I'm proud to see how you've grown as a right wing troll. Do you get paid by the hour or by the post?

@GammaRay43 I calculate that in that last burst of comments, if you actually typed that, you would have done 1200 characters in 2 minutes, that's 10 chars per sec. Seemingly impressive.
@GammaRay43 It's obvious you stole this verbatim from an Ayn Rand websight, I mean you couldn't even regurgitate her shallow and short sighted ideas in your own words, Not that it matters, even if you were to raise Ayn from the grave I would destroy her kiddie pool depth pseudo-philosophical crap just as easily if it came from her own mouth, If you go to Rand for deep thinking...
it switches the choice of “Freedom or dictatorship?” into “Which kind of dictatorship?”—thus establishing dictatorship as an inevitable fact and offering only a choice of rulers. The choice—according to the proponents of that fraud—is: a dictatorship of the rich (fascism) or a dictatorship of the poor (communism).
@GammaRay43 (arguing with the Ghost of Ayn) Its A priori that any political extreme leads to Tyrany and also obvious, Objectivism is a shortcut to corporate totalitarianism, simplified: Unregulated capitalism will eventually eat itself as stronger companies devour weaker ones until only one is left creating a monopoly and negating the manipulations of the "invisible hand", i.e. a monopoly is unbound by the natural protection of competition for consumers
"Its A priori that any political extreme leads to Tyrany and also obvious,..."
No it is not. Not any political extreme leads to Tyranny. You keep punching above your weight class 419. It's sad to watch you humiliate yourself over and over.
But immensely entertaining at the same time, so keep it up.
That fraud collapsed in the 1940’s, in the aftermath of World War II. It is too obvious, too easily demonstrable that fascism and communism are not two opposites, but two rival gangs fighting over the same territory—that both are variants of statism, based on the collectivist principle that man is ...cont.
the rightless slave of the state—that both are socialistic, in theory, in practice, and in the explicit statements of their leaders—that under both systems, the poor are enslaved and the rich are expropriated in favor of a ruling clique—that fascism is not the product of the political “right,” but of the “left”—that the basic issue is not “rich versus poor,” but man versus the state, or: individual rights versus totalitarian government—which means: capitalism versus socialism.
The repubs should be referred to as the Re-Right, as they try to re write ,The dictionary, the history and science books and our constitution so it fits their current political ideology, Orwell warned us of the dangers of Newspeak
Indeed he did. As a recovering commie, he knew best how the socialist would need to control the rules of debate and dialogue. He had been there and done that.
Thanks for busting your nose just one more time 419.
Perhaps you should read Animal Farm. It is his expose of the USSR. He wasn't talking about anyone else. A democrat socialist at heart, he nonetheless knew his political passion would always lead to tyranny. Go read up.
@GammaRay43 Oh Man, I'm sorry. I must have touched a nerve. Now you're going off on your silly rants again. Could you get back to that political theory stuff? That was fun.
Poor baby, did I touch a nerve? Sorry dear. I guess union thugs aren't as tough as I remember them from my youth. Go shopping. It works wonders for my wife.
"Salaries for the 10 largest unions’ bosses range from $173,000 for the United Auto Workers’ Bob King to $618,000 for Terence O’Sullivan, the president of the Laborers’ International Union of North America. AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka makes about $283,000 per year."
More cut and paste from the temple of truth....Gammaray.
@GammaRay43 Hi GR, I'm back. I thought I had taught you about the dangers of using too small a sample size when you're talking about statistics. You think those salaries are outrageous? Should we talk about the salaries of the top 140 leadership and see how they stack up against the Union guys, or even just the Wall Street "geniuses" that Bush bailed out, because they got us all into a jam? Poor billionaires need our help, my God, where's our compassion? What have we become?
@GammaRay43 I'm also, for the purposes of my future blog posts, going to hunt down the numbers for all 140 heavy hitters leadership salaries and do a sorted comparison. I'm sure it will be a disappointment to you, based on the numbers you cited. At what point, in the authoritarian right-wing mindset, does it ever dawn on you that there, in fact, may exist the possibility that you are wrong sometimes. I make mistakes all the time. When I do, I try to correct them. Do you?
@GammaRay43 One more stat for you on the OpenSecrets data you led me to (thanks!). Of the 140 heavy hitters in campaign contributions 36 are PACs and Unions leaving 110 Corporations and Trade Associations doing 86% of the donating. Yet, Dems still get 60% of it. It's no wonder the Rs are out for the unions, they think they can get more bang for the buck compared to asking corporations to contribute less to Ds. Corporations want to make sure they have friends in the government I suppose.
Of course the corporations want friends in the government. The corruption that stinks the worst has no party. Crony capitalism is not capitalism at all. But having a select group take it to the streets for their taxpayer perks is no better.
And you should go to that website and dig into the background of the individual groups. Just because it says Assn means nothing. Wearing disguises is in vogue I guess.
I have it in for anyone in bed with the government. Anyone.
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER It is copy and pasted, perfectly plagiarized from the aynrandlexicon website, I am becoming worried that Gama is not just a shill but is in fact some sick logarithm that automatically spits back set rhetoric whenever confronted with data, a kind of Artificial Un-Intelligence if you will
My my...old 419 is concerned about me! Pay attention now. Hey, what is a logarithm?
"A new report from the left-leaning Center for Public Integrity (CPI) shows union bosses would stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal salaries and Democrats would lose millions of dollars in campaign donations if governors in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and other states win their budget battles. "
That, sweety, is a cut and paste from THE DAILY CALLER that I knew you would like.
@GammaRay43@GammaRay43, The median expected salary for a typical Chief Executive Officer in the United States is $702,275. (www1*salary*com/Chief-Executive-Officer-Salary*html). Their corporations have the privilege, as legal "persons", of hiring lobbyists to petition the government on their behalf, for tax breaks, regulation waivers, investigations, etc. Yet workers cannot hire unions to negotiate on their behalf as well? Do you subscribe to this blatant hypocrisy? Really? Do you have a soul?
@GammaRay43 oops, meant to say Algorithm, logarithm is a math term that doesn't dealing with undoing exponentiation, us humans make mistakes sometimes, you know when we come up with our own posts instead of copying and pasting the thoughts of others (way to go ditto head), and Duh, like everybody doesn't know that Walkers "budget" is an attack on the funding of the democratic party
@GammaRay43 yes good point, I apologize for not observing an Archaic Grammer rule in your presemce, Oh mighty Gamma you have humbled me with your immense knowledge of Grammer and spelling, now if you only knew a Effin thing about political science then maybe we could have an adult conversation.

Recall that FDR,Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were not fans of gov.sector unions

Normally I don't get sucked into debates over political issues. Too many high emotions where people don't research what they spout to actually have a truly informed opinion. Thinking "about the children" is what I do when I spent 11 hours a day at school (that's not commute time either), an average of 2 hours of homework at night, and the 8-10 hours of planning/grading I do over the weekends. And mine is not an unusual story. Whether you choose to believe it or not is your own personal bubble.
tcher48 11 months ago
@tcher48 Something must be really wrong to put that many hours and have so bad results.
garciadelacadena 11 months ago
Stupid is not confined to education.
tcher48 11 months ago
At the moment, it doesn't look good.
tcher48 11 months ago
@tcher48 Oh yeah, mostly it's about attempting to reduce union contribution to Democratic candidates. We as individuals are more than making up the slack already. Donations are pouring in faster than ever before.

5.8% to retirement? We in Nebraska contribute 8%.
tcher48 11 months ago

Then it negotiates with the very same officials.
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 A very reasonable argument. I applaud you. However, the tables can be turned you know. How is it that corporations do exactly the same when negotiating and providing services to the state for a profit, yet they are not considered to have "special status". What, fundamentally, is different about this? Hmm? You may not see this hypocrisy, but we do. The solution is to remove all artificial persons from the process, or none, but not just the select ones you happen to disagree with. No?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER You seem to miss the whole point. Is it evasiveness or just bad eyesight ? Its NOT an ARGUMENT. It is a FEDERAL COURT ruling and case law. There is no Corporation with exclusivity for non production contracting with the government. "remove all artificial persons", it was you Marxists putzes of the Red Shields that brought in artificial persons, does civil war, 1871, 14th amendment ring a bell ??? You are an artificial person, birth certificate,SS WAKE UP!.
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 quote: "There is no Corporation with exclusivity for non production contracting with the government." That's not true. Haliburton and Blackwater (now Xe) come immediately to mind. In any case you miss the point there, it's simple. Corporations contribute to the very same politicians who will be deciding procurement, tax breaks, regulations, etc. that directly affect them, and yes, unions do a similar thing. The cause of the budget shortfall was not unions however, it was Wall Street.
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Oh really??? So what state or any level of government has a contract with Blackwater or whoever which represents state or any level of government of employees ??? Or should I say , public servants. If polls are correct and and 46% of Wisconsins agree with the Governor, while 36.2 percent of all workers are public sector unionized then the true % of folks paying the bills agreeing = 78%. Yes We the people have spoken!
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 Well that's true I don't know of any state or local contracts with those two. I was thinking generally. I don't understand the rest of your comment though. I don't follow your reasoning. Please explain more clearly. My point still stands that corporations are donating to politicians who then make fiscal decisions that are are at least an equal conflict of interest to that posed by unions. I acknowledge your concerns but you won't acknowledge mine. Is there no common ground here?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER You are trying to mask the marxist movement and influence with a straw man argument about corporations. We are seeing right before our eyes the posionous tentacles of public sector unions and the communist SDS. Public sector unions are molded into a mindless voting block, like good little commrades.
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 Demagoguery and slogans which amount to nothing but mindless propaganda. Answer the question or are you a robot?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER "Demagoguery and slogans" or truth ? You are the one with anti capitalism , it's the all corporations fault. Meanwhile you fail to mention that generally, unions ARE incorporated. You are just another marxist led fool trying to feather his nest at everyone elses expense. In the end it is YOU the unproductive the marxist get rid of first. The students for a democratic society (underground weathermen - Bill Ayers - Obama buddy) are just goyim pulling the plow.
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 Well that's slightly better. I wasn't aware of the legal niceties of union incorporation, but that doesn't change my views. I am not anti-capitalism, I believe it must be moderated by law or we will eventually become 1% rich, 15% middle class, and 84% poor like in the 19th century. Maybe conservatives want to go back there but the rest of us aren't interested in following. There are extremes on both sides and you should know. btw I'm not a Marxist, I'm a scientist... even scarier ehh?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Well if that is truly the case then you need to be educated to your true history. That information is expressed at thewatchmen.FM The first thing you have to wrap your head around is that we don't have real money, we have debt notes used for legal tender in lieu. The reece commision that was quashed in the 1950's quite matter of fact uncovered the purpose of Tax-exempt Foundations. Then you will get a glimpse of whats really going on. But its all up to your quest for truth.
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 I do subscribe to the idea that just because you're paranoid does NOT mean that they're NOT out to get you. On the other hand there is a lot of smoke and mirrors and political noise out there designed to distract the people. I don't attempt to make any sense of it. I just look at the results. What would be the point, the possible purpose, of driving down the middle-class? World domination by a hidden uber-rich plutocracy or something else? Do you think it's that organized?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER What you are saying is you are a lazy coward. All those who who do not value freedom do absolutely nothing. But then again even though we only deal in documented proof of things, WE are paranoid. Not you, the goyim pulling the marxist plow.
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 No that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying I think you've latched on to comfortable set of ideas for yourself and you respond to other ideas with insults and slogans. I was trying to find common ground but you're plainly not interested. You do betray your lack of substance so, by all means, rant on to your heart's content. It helps when others see the lack of integrity in those we oppose.

C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago

ALL working Americans are being forced to pay the non-productive few, THATS what you are advocating. because you are a COMMIE
northpal2 11 months ago
@northpal2 You know, the word Commie loses its meaning when you just use it to describe everything you don't agree with. Also, I know that you may not be aware of this, but among civilized debaters personal attacks are a good way to make yourself look ignorant.
Winterwolf00 11 months ago
@Winterwolf00 No the term not word COMMIE is what seems to disturb how about a wolves in sheep's clothing, theN again the best way to describe that is COMMIE. "civilized debaters" "An attack on unions is an attack on ALL working Americans"
Well deindustrializing has done that thanks to your UNIONS and the whacko commies that run them. "cuts in education, police, firefighting and other essential services" - self sufficiency not dependency is what America is about.
northpal2 11 months ago
This is America! You have the duty to overthrow radical governments in our Declaration of Independence. So protect your right to be armed and protest peacefully until they deploy national guard. Then you have the DUTY to overthrow radical government. This is America and you are free to bear arms, form militias, vote, and assemble.

@marifran1971 If you do not know the history of what Unions have done for our country, nor do you understand their most important function, you really should just shut up. Unions have abused their power, but when compared to Republicans, they are Saints.
xinecallaw 11 months ago
@xinecallaw I'm not a supporter of Republicans. I understand what their important function USED to be and I understand what they are now. You should give that a try. And I don't have to shut up. Ever.
marifran1971 11 months ago
@marifran1971 Your personal feeling reflects little on reality. According to Rassmussen (right-leaning) poll 57% oppose weakening collective bargaining, 39% favor. If the government will not listen to the voice of the people, the government will fall. Simple as that. In Nov. the voters wanted change, but not this change. Don't tell us to go back to work, we work very hard for the people of WI. If we stop working you will finally understand what government does. Wake up, and stop being a victim.
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Yea go look at the question asked btw in the poll. I'm sure you wont let fact get in the way of your emotion. If you don't go back to work it would be the best thing for the country!! There are a whole bunch of people that would be happy to take your job cuts and all. Spoiled babies.
marifran1971 11 months ago
@marifran1971 Sure there would be lots who would like our jobs, but few have the education to do them. I didn't go to school for 21 years to get a job with poor wages, and poor benefits. But whatever... my wife and I are looking for new jobs elsewhere; when we find them, we will leave. There are a lot more like us too. Wisconsin will go down the drain as professionals like us leave. Good luck finding qualified replacements! We did not create this mess, and you're barking up the wrong tree. ; )
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER Well hurry up and go already. You think too much of yourselves. You are easily replaced. Hopefully with someone who does not think they are above the rest of us. Hopefully you're not a teacher with tenure who can't be fired even when it's deserved. Ugh. bye bye
marifran1971 11 months ago
@marifran1971 I meet so many ugly, hateful, people here on YT. It's difficult to understand why you hate the middle-class so much, while turning a blind eye to the abuses of the wealthy executives, and their lap-dog politicians, who lie to get into power, then turn on a dime and stab the voters in the back afterwards. Seriously folks, I'm not a rabid left-winger, but Walker is as corrupt as they come, left or right. Watch the economy now and see how it does. Care to wager?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@marifran1971 Do you receive health care in WI? If so, how do you pay? Just wondering.
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@C0L0NELM0RTIMER My husband was laid off two years ago and my family and I haven't had health care since. I don't think Unions were always corrupt, my grandpa worked in the coal mines and he certainly could have used a union back then. Now they are corrupt lobbyists. I know they get workers lots of good stuff but there's a price to be paid. Start with teachers and tenure and damn if you don't like the benefits at your job there are tons if non union jobs with ... get this GREAT BENEFITS/PAY.
marifran1971 11 months ago
@marifran1971 I looked at those questions. I didn't see anything wrong. What were you referring to? I did notice some other numbers that were even more interesting. Did you know that just 34% Strongly approve of the job Walker is doing, while 48% Strongly disapprove? That was before March 4th. I'm quite certain his numbers have dropped after the passage of the bill, but I look forward to seeing them in a few days. Rasmussen is statistically a bit to the right, so if they say this, we win! : )

Rammagith 11 months ago
@wtfjaftw My only answer is that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder, bred by a segment of society that collectively hates those who reap the benefits of their own hard work. Their sense of entitlement is not only unfounded it is unhealthy and detrimental in many ways to a society. I believe every American is accountable for his actions and health, and I doubt legalizing certain drugs would be as harmful as some presume, so as long as the TRUTH about the safety of drugs is properly taught.
Rammagith 11 months ago 6
@Rammagith Wow. That’s twisted. How on earth is it that we give billions in subsidies to the most profitable businesses on the entire planet, give tax cuts to the rich, loopholes beyond imagine, Wall St. bailouts on the backs of the middle-class, and in a country where a hedge fund manager can make $1BILLION in a year, you are dim enough to say that TEACHERS feel “entitled?” Workers feel “entitled?”
Give me a fucking break.
demmmmm1 11 months ago
Reap the benefits of their own hard work? Then tell that to Governor Walker who wants to make it harder for small business people in the craft brewery business to profit. Governor Walker is in the pocket of the mega brewery, MillerCoors, which wants to control how the microbreweries do business in Wisconsin. If you don't believe me google Walker and breweries. Conservatives for Business? More like conservatives for BIG BUSINESS.
schroff1968 8 months ago
@schroff1968 If that is true then I don't agree with it and it's wrong. I doubt America will elect a politician who isn't a puppet of lobbyists or big business to some extent in our lifetime, however, as terrible as it sounds. Money buys elections/power, and big business has the money. It's not really a left or right wing problem bc both are in bg bsness big time. Lets face it, all the Washington bickering is about how to spend money and where. There's one solution I think can help...
Rammagith 7 months ago
@schroff1968 We can stop playing world police and allow our allies to take on the roles we shouldn't be doing now, or not do it at all. We wouldn't be having this talk if we hadn't invaded Iraq, or actually did something in Afg. that produced something other than a dead American soldier for no reason. If we actually stop all this intervention shit around the world, NO American would go hungry, we would have a surplus, and the craft beer business would boom like hell. Until then... >8 - (
Rammagith 7 months ago

Such a strike would take much effort and courage, but if shutting down the economy is what is needed to get the bill repealed, then that's what labor needs to do.

it switches the choice of “Freedom or dictatorship?” into “Which kind of dictatorship?”—thus establishing dictatorship as an inevitable fact and offering only a choice of rulers.

@GammaRay43 Hi GR, I'm back. I thought I had taught you about the dangers of using too small a sample size when you're talking about statistics. You think those salaries are outrageous? @GammaRay43 I'm also, for the purposes of my future blog posts, going to hunt down the numbers for all 140 heavy hitters leadership salaries and do a sorted comparison. I'm sure it will be a disappointment to you, based on the numbers you cited. At what point, in the authoritarian right-wing mindset, does it ever dawn on you that there, in fact, may exist the possibility that you are wrong sometimes. I make mistakes all the time. When I do, I try to correct them. Do you?
C0L0NELM0RTIMER 11 months ago
@GammaRay43 One more stat for you on the OpenSecrets data you led me to (thanks!). Of the 140 heavy hitters in campaign contributions 36 are PACs and Unions leaving 110 Corporations and Trade Associations doing 86% of the donating. Yet, Dems still get 60% of it. It's no wonder the Rs are out for the unions, they think they can get more bang for the buck compared to asking corporations to contribute less to Ds. Corporations want to make sure they have friends in the government I suppose.

@419dman

@GammaRay43 @GammaRay43, The median expected salary for a typical Chief Executive Officer in the United States is $702,275.

@419dman
"us humans make mistakes .."
It's "we" humans make mistakes and you certainly are the poster child for that.
