Just remember how it used to be in rhode island, before mass and ri politicians bacame tyrants and ruined everything they touched....they raised everything..and no one could pay....you lost everything...all because of politics
thanks for posting. I last went to Lincoln Park in the early 80's- the little roller coaster at 2:10 brought back memories, i remember riding on that.
I always wanted to have an amusement park closer too home. Sixflags is like a two hour drive! It sucks for me since I am a rollercoaster freak. My nana used to tell me about it and how fun it was. I know it's farfetched but I would be wicked happy if someone bought it lol.
my family use to bring fried chicken and potatoe salad and macaroni salad with us and eat on the picnic tables that they had. this was our family tradition every summer.
I miss Lincoln Park I was like 13 the last time I went! I remember when I was little and I went on the himalaya and it went so fast I turned ghostly pale and the guy had to stop to let me off cuz I couldn't breathe. LOL Loved the himalaya as a young teen before they closed my beloved Lincoln Park. :( I grew up in New Bedford so it was THE place to go with the family! I am 37 now and every time I ride by it, it makes me so sad still. It holds a lot of wonderful memories for me! Thanks so much!
i loved it there... i remember a kid barfing on the ride we were in line for.... puke was flying everywhere... ewwwww then they wiped the ride down and we STILL went on...wtf? hahaha.
thank you so much....everyone in my family loved LP. I was taken there as soon as I was old enuf to eat cotton candy....then went to the pavillion for my prom....I wld show this to my mom who used to go there as a teen....but the other vids showing the ruins wld break her heart.
Wow I grew up in Taunton Mass. we use to go here when I was little we moved to California in 77 . I can't believe that Lincoln Park is no more. That makes me want to cry my sister's and I had some good times here.
Wow, what a gem! I grew up in Somerset, MA and we would go three or four times a year. I saw Roy Rogers and Dale Evans at the Pavilion. My best memory from Lincoln Park was seeing Captain Kangaroo at the Pavilion, he came in to the seating area and pickep my sister, took her up on stage and sang a song while he was carrying her. Probably around 1961 or so.
this is a priceless gem . i loved Lincoln park in Dartmouth ma and Crescent park in Riverside Rhode island and Rocky Point in Warwick RHODE ISLAND , ALL GONE NOW EXCEPT CAROUSEL AT CRESCENT PARK IN RIVERSIDE ( EAST PROVIDENCE RI ) YOU SHOULD SEE IT . THANK YOU WONDERFUL
@bearcub410 It is really sad that all of these wonderful places are gone. I had gone to Rocky Point a few times in my youth as well. The lincoln park carousel is still around. It was saved and still gives rides, but in Fall River MA at Battleship cove. It has been there since the late 80s.
It's wonderful to watch this, and relive all the memories associated with Lincoln Park. I'm so glad you put this up to upbeat music. We, who remember the park, feel sadness about its loss and deterioration...but we are fond of this place not due to it's loss, but to it's once life. This is a great way to celebrate that life. Thank you.
Thanks for posting. That kids' roller coaster was one of my favorite rides. My parents took my often to Lincoln Park in the 1960s. We lived in Newport, Rhode Island.
Boy does this bring back memories! I still remember my first ride on Comet. I couldn't wait until I was tall enough to ride i and was always disappointed when I had to ride the kiddie coaster. Learned how to roller skate there too.
used to go there many times with my family when Providence pile (Quaker Fabrics) used to have their Company Outings there the best times of my life was there At Lincoln Park my first roller coaster ride in my life ,thanks for the memories Linconln Park
My first big roller coaster back in '77 and many other memories from my day as a Yankee. LOVED the big yellow slide that you rode down on the old carpets! Thanks for the memories :)
Great, great video !!! It was a good thing to show LP on a positive note. We do have fond memories, but life goes on and the next generation will have their own special memories.
Corrie, Nice job. As always. Great song. Great video. Good work. I am sure alot of people, including myself thank you and appreciate all that you do to keep the LP memories alive and well!!
Thanks for the kind words. I needed to make a happy video after all the depressing ones! I hope that your parents enjoy it. I know my mom certainly did. She got teary eyed seeing the roller skating rink. She spent every Saturday there from childhood through after high school.
It really is too bad. I wish more had been done to save and preserve all those buildings. Hopefully, if I can get the ball rolling we can at least save the land from being built on.
Another great video, thanx.. You have real nice footage of the old days at Lincoln Park.. I just drove by yesterday on my way to the Dartmouth mall & was reminded that Memorial day just passed & it would be open full time now for the summer.. Its too bad :(

I used to play the organ at the roller rink. That was a very pleasant place to be back in the 70's and 80's!
