I suggest that you don't waste your time watching this 1989 movie. Until rougly two thirds into the movie the story looks like an entertaining horror.When it comes to the ending, however, the events become so hasted and far-fetched that the whole movie is spoiled. You cannot take a short clip out of the context in which it sat and expect it to have the same impact it did when it was preceded by an hour of slow building atmosphere and tension. Films and books and indeed pieces of music aren't just collections of scenes, they rely on what has gone before for impact - take them in isolation and they lose all their power. You wouldn't read one page of an M.R James story and say it wasn't chilling. Well not unless you were a bit of a tool!

See... there's the decadent and juicy "YE" spoken with a tone of uncertain authority which is brought into a wonderfully delicious "AH" followed by a threatening yet, subtly needy "HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." it makes you wonder how much of this talent was in the script, the director, and the actress herself. Probably the best moment I've seen in cinema since James Earl Jones' powerful rendition of "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!­!!!!!"
