@denisefeathers the 'amazon sword' is quite a hardy plant to try out. Java, fern, Hygrophila which is the large leaf ones that you can see on the left and right of the tank are also quite easy to grow as is Hydrilla which grows in the wild. For most of the others you would need special lighting, substrate and a lot of care. I wouldn't recommend picking any of the grass type plants or the red ones without very high lighting and tank setup specially for plants.
The guppies and platys would be happy with the plants but i'm not sure about the fire mouths.....they may be plant eaters and cause some trouble....though the big leaf hardy ones i mentioned could survive them
are yo sure your spoused to have guppys and angels together?

I am thinking of putting live plants in my fish tanks. Can you recommend a good starter plant. I have guppies platys and Fire mouth cichlids.

@denisesfeathers the fish are in three different tanks not together. I have two 30 gallons and one 10 gallon tank.
