ive personally used the iPhone app on a music video and its AWESOME... allows you to sync to a audio track so you can play back via a standard cable to you play back system... you can even set in and out points if you are say, only shooting the chorus in that scene, makes to far easier to sync in post to as timecode is in sync to the song.

If you get a splitter for the microphone you are plugging into the H4n, you can set the volume on one of the ins to a lower level. That way, if you get peaking on the main in, you can use the secondary in audio which is clean :D
