What a wonderful and intuitive intro into the magic of stride blues!
Being stretch-handicapped myself I always stayed away, but this approach in Sevenths rather than the impossible Tenths is reasonable compromise.
Stride Blues is really different to the more traditional and Boogie Woogie related piano Blues I have been tinkering with for 30+ years. Time to move on to this more sophisticated style.
Please more of these great ideas, off beat interrupts and syncopations - THANKS!
THIS IS A GREAT LESSON!! The Prof is really clear, has a great sence of humor, insight, and love in his teaching. This lesson has BASIC and ADVANCED examples in it.. You can dig it depending on YOUR LEVEL! One suggestion: Dont 'over pedal" this rhythmic style! :)
It's amazing how much you can imply with left hand intervals. We've all heard F jazz blues before, so we supply the bass lines in our minds anyway!

@Modes9 It still shocks me how the RH notes blend the overtones in...even "toy" stride sounds pretty good.

Right, it's anazing how a less full LH combines with the RH overtones to make a full sound.
