  • @ivor1969 Yeh, sorry about that. Big tides on the river, then... manflu !

  • @neilandfi I want to make something absolutely clear:

TUNING THESE IS EXTREMELY EASY, AND QUICKLY DONE. ONCE YOU'VE DONE IT YOU PROBABLY WON@T HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN.

  • It's each to there own Neil, look forward to meeting up soon for a Jam/chat real soon.

    Cheers

    Rovi.

  • PLEASE READ............

There is no need to retune a Mood Drum, it has it's own unique sound,

    Neil re-tuned his by choice.

I tune these drums from the Soul to create the sound of a Mood Drum, as we can create musical sounds from all sorts of shapes even table condiments, yet I have never come across anyone re-tuning a Salt & Pepper set a Teapot or even a sugar bowl. It is all about rhythm, text book tuning is great yet our Ancestors managed without it.

    Escape with a organic sound.

  • @ivor1969 Personally, I fully endorse what you say there. I experimented with the tuning as you gave it to me...played it for a while like that but came to the conclusion that my ear just wasn't familiar with it. Retuning is very very easy, so I see no reason why anyone should not start with the tuning you give it.

  • @simonthepsychicmonk Addictive as hell. You'll love it.

  • Hi All, Mood Drums are in continuous production at a rate of 3 a week at present I sell them the World over.

    Cheers

    Rovi

  • Great Neil, just bought one !! Waiting to receive, yet to decide whether I will retune obviously - jakeblues

  • great stuff......

  • Awesome. I'd love to buy one, but I wouldn't be able to tune it. Knowing me, I'd fully mess it up!

  • @michaelmcmichaelson Very, VERY easy. Find out what notes you've already got using a guitar tuner. Then decide on the best notes to tune DOWN to. Then , note by note, use a hacksaw blade to lengthen each tongue a little at a time, testing the note again regularly until it is just slightly above the target. Leave the note there.

  • @neilandfi any chance of posting a tutorial? Thanks a lot for that though.

  • @michaelmcmichaelson No problem, but it WILL be a few days.. I have a lot of stuff going on right now

  • I like it mate
