The question we should be asking is why the master bedroom phone had been moved to the kitchen - (leaving no phone in the master bedroom where jane and shelia were found dead ) - and why the kitchen phone which worked fine had been disconnected and hidden under a bunch of magazines. It was the ivory bedroom phone which was found off the cradle and the line left open. if the kitchen phone was working why was it hidden. I think in this conundrum the truth probably lay - one way or another.

I was contracted by the police to secure the house after this happened, so I followed the case very closely. I only saw blood stains in one place in the kitchen. But the thing that clinched it for me was that Bamber said his father phoned him and said his sister had gone mad with a gun, then the phone handset was dropped without going back on the receiver. Bamber would not have been able to use his phone again to call the police, as in those days the caller cancelled the call.

@leedumett444 sheer speculation. No solid evidence or forensic evidence connects Jeremy to the crime. none whatsoever. Just the word of a spurned girlfriend who lied and then changed her story. She wasn't even charges for obstuction of justice. The judge himself said to the jury you either believe Julie Mugford or Jeremy Bamber. 10 out of 12 jurers chose to believe Julie Mugford. A gross miscarriage of justice. All evidence was circumstantial.

Jeremy could not and did not move the rifle from the bedroom window after 7:15am, and he did not place it on top of his sisters body in the bedroom, at any stage after 7:15am - Essex police had this evidence by the time of Jeremy's trial in October 19856, yet they refused to acknowledge its existence, or to disclose it...

The police withheld the very evidence which would help to prove and establish that there must have been someone still very much alive inside the farmhouse, because that rifle was moved from the window at some stage after 7:15am, and ended up on top of Sheila's body...

the case was originally treated as being "four murders and a suicide", the case at that stage, included a witness statement from a WPC Julia Jeapes, a trained firearms instructor with Essex police, who stated in that statement that she could see a rifle leaning up against the bedroom window...

Then, the nature of the investigation changed, into" five murders"...

What did the police do, they withheld WPC Julia Jeapes witness statement, and they kept it secret...

In my view, there appears to be evidence that someone has tried to wipe the vertically running blood from the lower wound, to prevent anyone from being able to find out that Sheila was or may have been stood upright after she received the initial shot to the side of the neck. This appears to have been done, before PC Bird started to take his crime scene photographs, at 10 O'clock that morning...

This evidence of vertically running blood from the lower wound, is consistent with Sheila having regained consciousness after she was originally wounded downstairs, and that she fled upstairs to the bedroom, where she received the second shot under the chin which effectively killed her...

If you look closely enough, there is evidence that blood from the lower wound, ran vertically, rather than horizontally from the wound, giving a good indication that Sheila was stood upright at some stage after she received the initial shot to the side of the throat (the lower wound). This feature is not duplicated in respect of the upper wound, and suggests that she was laid down, or that she fell down immediately onto the bedroom floor, after she received the second shot...

There were, therefore, two silencers in the equation, one which had the original identifying mark of SBJ/1, which was subsequently altered into DRB/1, and the other silencer which David Boutflour found in the gun cupboard, on 10 August 1985, bearing the identifying mark of DB/1...

Essex police handed silencer (SBJ/1) back to family, and it was later handed back to the police by Ann Eaton, on 11 September 1985, and retained by Essex police, until 26 September 1985, at which stage it was submitted to the Lab' under the altered identifying mark of DRB/1...

First silencer in police possession had identifying mark of SBJ/1 - believed to have been found at the scene by DS "Stan" Jones, on the morning of 7 August 1985...

Second silencer, bearing identifying mark, DB/1, was found in gun cupboard by David Boutflour, and taken to the home of Ann and Peter Eaton for storage until the evening of 12 August 1985, when DS Jones collected it from Peter Eaton. This silencer was not sent to the Lab' until 30 August 1985...

Police were aware that Sheila had been shot downstairs with a gun that had a silencer fitted, and that the second wound upstairs, was inflicted by a different gun, which did not have a silencer fitted to its barrel - the pathologist removed two bullets from Sheila's body, one of which was a fragmented bullet (PV./20) which by 20 September 1985, had become transformed into a whole bullet, that enabled the ballistic expert to match both bullets to the gun on the body...

The blood flow is the same from both wounds and so she could not have been standing when recieving the first shot. The 2 bullet wounds strongly suggest that one is fired with a silencer attached, and one without. this raises the the question,Could sheila have shot herself twice? Answer,No. I feel that bamber is responsible for the killings.

The woulds do not show that and in any case this in itself does not connect Jeremy to the crime.in fact there is absolutely no proof that a silencer was used at all. Blood on the silencer was not found on first examination. Then much later it was examined again and hey presto blood miraculously appears. Strange how this silencer and other "evidence" was not found by the police, but by the relatives.

There is to much doubt with this case, and once everyone knows all the evidence that is available they will come to realise that something does not add up, and this man should be released from prison. There needs to be an investigation that is not influenced by this mans family. Bloodied fingermarks can be seen around the upper entry wound site, and fresh looking blood has run out over the top of these - the police claim that Sheila Caffells hands and fingers were spotlessly clean and blood free, so who made these bloodied fingermarks, and why was somebody, anybody, interested in trying to prevent blood from leaking out of the wound ?

Once the heart stops beating, blood is no longer being pumped around the body, and within a relatively short period of time, around 15 minutes, or so, no more oxygen exists in the blood inside the body, and the blood starts to degenerate and breakdown - Yet, as this crime scene photograph shows, the blood which is running and leaking and pouring from these two wounds upon Sheila's neck, is still relatively fresh looking and bright red in colour?

If Sheila had been killed by Bamber, prior to 3am, in the bedroom, as alleged, blood would not still be leaking, and running, and pouring from the two wounds upon her neck and the corners of her mouth, at 10 O'clock that morning - it would have coagulated and dried long before then...
