why should i choose ``cereal´´ as one of the first words to teach to my child? it doesnt make sense. why start with cereal and diapers, while other words, like ``yes´´ or ``no´´ would make so much more sense?
Cereal is one of the many signs and words that are featured on the My Baby Can Talk - Sharing Signs DVD which is the second DVD in the award winning My Baby Can Talk series. The first DVD in this series, My Baby Can Talk - First Signs, teaches the most common first signs and words to teach a baby - such as "eat" "drink" "milk" "more" and "all done."
Because cereal is popular snack/food for babies and toddlers. This way they can communicate that they would like some cereal. I found that with my babies they glommed onto signing more with simple objects and simple food. Yes and no, while it seems simple - is more of an abstract concept. Why would they wait for you to ask if they would like some cereal when they can request the cereal first?
