seeing that mic in the beginning of this video makes me want to ask you, what kind of mic set up would you suggest for a budget podcast? I've started doing a podcast with a friend over the summer, and at first we would go to his friend's place to record because they had a nice setup with expensive mics and stands and the whole 9 yards, but we're not able to record there anymore so now I've downgraded to my usb headset and skype. I'm going to have to upgrade equipment eventually, any suggestions?
@stafax That mic's a Blue Yeti, which I've heard is THE podcast mic these days so I figured I'd try it out, but I've actually been doing most of my earlier voiceovers with an Optimus mic from Radio Shack with a wind screen. I just got adapters to change the 1/4" plug to a 1/8" plug to plug it in to the computer. Better yet, maybe I should just make a video about AV setups I've had with these computers over the years.
@MultimediaJay That would be awesome if you make a video. I'm in no rush to buy new audio equipment because I have to wait for my student loans to kick in, so that's going to be a bit. But anyways, when I went from using the pro equipment and downgraded to my gaming headset, I can hear a big difference in quality on my podcast, so I'm going to have to upgrade eventually.
