It's hard to do a note-perfect Floyd cover, but you at least need to get the feel right, which these guys don't do, particularly the timing. Sounds like an opera singer trying to sing the blues, as they decide to do now and then.

@southerner66 I have to agree with you, there's just a certain something missing. The notes are note-for-note correct, but the classic English soul isn't there. The lady-vocalist is certainly talented, but ain't nothing sound like a couple fat Black ladies belting it out with a huge serving of soul. That singer has vast dynamic but I'm not feeling the soul.

Ya, and apparently Clare Torry's was a brilliant one-take improvisation in the studio for like 50 bucks (so years later she had to sue PF to force them to pay her fairly for profiting off what was largely her idea).

I think that if she could have felt she was a daughter that just came home from her fathers funeral and looked at his empty chair... I had heard the song dozens and dozens of times before I heard it for the first time with my heart . I was sure that Clare Torry sang this with tears streaming down her cheeks for the memory of a loved one gone, but that's not it either
