  • Octopi freak me out but that sea lions an asshole

  • lol did they actually put a videa cam on the sea lion

  • 10 octopusses made an account and disliked this video

  • NationalGeographic my msn in profile! Uncut - Octopus vs Sea Lion

  • The sound of water is actually pretty relaxing.

  • Fuck the sea lion

  • go sea lion! kill the kraken!

  • i haven't felt this nauseous after watching a video since the movie quarantine.

  • the ad wont load so i couldn't watch the video... thanks a lot youtube

  • It's like rock-paper-scissors shoot,

    only it's shark-octo-seal shoot!

Sharks eat seals, octopuss eat sharks and seals eat octopuss.

  • @Dleifrag100 use octopi, it's easier

  • Amazing. It actually brings it to the surface to "drown" it in oxygen. Brilliant.

  • Wow! How is this footage possible? (before everyone harps on me, I realize there's a camera on the sea lion...) Pretty amazing...

  • it should be called a sea dog,, it has the head of a dog.

  • omg I thought the octopus was going to eat the sea lion... oh well :( who knew sea lions were so vicious (shudders)

  • Great video! This footage is very raw and captivating. Nature finds its own balance in the end. Thumbs up! keep up the great work NG!

  • i like the backsound

  • @AuroraLilyLauren where the heck did u hear the backsound?

  • @aphelion719 in the background

  • @aphelion719 X)

  • hmm, damn.

I was vouching for the octopus.

  • Da beast & da beaut !

  • easily one of the most overhyped videos in youtube history. this video was 95% water and about 1% octopus and the rest was the squirming sleek skin of a sea lion. i applaud how groundbreaking the concept is but disappointingly little of this battle was actually visible.

  • @geekdiggy you are composed of about 80% water yoourself, so what are you expecting?

  • and that has exactly what to do with my comment? yeah. didn't think so. but good job fact-dropping, i see you've gotten 3 thumbs up for your astounding intellect.

  • @crabbigail2007

Many people I know are composed of about 80% bull shit ! Just a little facto of life. I know because I'm one of them and in rehab!

  • I subbed; sub & comment one of my videos! ^_^

  • Its The Lords Nature!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Loccolitto I agree with you here.. :D, also with below user Mega.. xoxo Hungry... one thing I never get it is why on earth do they have less HD here than more on the Net Geo Channel. Come on NET Geo, share some full and HD content here too so for some of us without cables can still enjoy your wonderful work.

    with respect,

    ruben from k6yar films

  • i think the sealion is xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxo hungryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Almost as epic as the killer whale owning a white shark 9.5 on the savage scale for this vid.

  • how did they strap the camera onto the lion?

I like the end, when it just plops down, probably like me after a good meal lol

  • what ann asshole lol

  • Is Canada a real country ?

  • @tuberrifico Fuck you

  • @TopazSkillMauler Don't you mean to say Fuck you eh ? American bacon rules !!

  • SEA LION, SEA LION, SEA LION!!!

  • Its amusing how National Geographic is like hey we got a lot of plays for this video, now lets put in words like "Epic" and "Uncut" and practically reupload the same footage two more times! That'll get people watching

    And sadly it did

  • MORE LIKE THIS!!!!!!

  • @NationalGeographic Aha sorry, I wasn't sure whether you guys were doing it intentionally. But I am sure that in Canada, we have the Fair Use thing, which says something can use copyrighted material as long as it is used for non-profit or educational purposes. And I have learned more from National Geographic than I did in school.

  • Is the octopus is the same one that killed the shark? XD

  • TO NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: you guys need to upload a lot more of these "uncut" videos. cuz i mean this is the internet, not television. who ever watches these videos is by their own choice, not cuz they caught it on tv.

  • *points and laughs at canadians*

you guys should thing aboot moving to america eh

  • @Yayakills Oh right, I should think about moving to America, land of the arrogant obese jerkward's who are so stuck up on themselves that they don't know a country exists beyond their borders. Unless it has oil, of course. So instead of picking on your countries largest trading partner ( by the way, If Canada vanished today, your country would lose most of its oil) try to up a textbook and performing the act that many arrogant douchebags as yourself are not capable of, and that is reading. God.

  • @CadetBrandon Hey man, I live in the US and I agree that way too many people here are like that, but not everyone, so please don't generalize, then you are just pulling the same thing the asshole's here do.

  • w/e that octopus was just jealous that the sea lion had a camera and he didn't. yeaa lil octopus wheres your legs noww??? how you like me now???!

  • that octopus died thinking, omg robotic sea lions!!!

  • here the story....the sea lion attck the octopus coz the octopus hav sex with the sea lion gf...hahaha then the sea lion take revange by eating it up lol..hehe

  • hey ! this it where I live, patagonia !

  • I'd love to try this FPS (first person swimmer)

  • Get that absurd camera of the animal, why don´t ya put it in your back and swim? You will do anything to get attention !! Try it on yourselves and jump off a mountain , that´s more fun than this animal abuse !

  • i thought octopuses had beaks.

and it wouldve been cool to see a shark eat the sea lion.

  • my god, they're really going all out on it aren't they?

  • lol ending was cute, "ahhhh now I'm just going to lie and sleep on the beach" :-D

  • @CadetBrandon they cant help it... Its the country banning it not the company... y would they bann it themselves? its pointless

  • two words:nom nom

  • hahahahahahahhh WIN.

  • Looks like the Sea Lion is just ripping parts off the Octopus and goig to the surface to eat .

  • the sea lion's mad smart, it forces the octopus out of the water and starts to eat it up there

  • This is Saw 6 (sealion Versio)

  • enjoy the octopus b4 u get eaten by shark haha

  • omg

  • That sea lion's an octopus hunting machine

  • Shark < Octopus < Seal < Orca

  • nature sucks.. glad im not an octopus

  • what a nice lifestyle those sea lions have.. I envy them a little.

  • I love how the sea lion goes back for seconds, and thirds, and fourths.

  • Awesome vid! Loved it!

  • For a water creature, the sea lion seems to go up a lot for air...

  • @TsarSamuil thats called a mammal

  • @TsarSamuil i think he was just trying to bring the octopus to the surface.

  • Alright I think that... The octopus probably do not know its position in the food chain.

  • I wish I could have some cams on dolphins in taiji japan.

  • Tako Sashimi

  • I can't figure out if there is only one octopus in the entire 12-minute video, of if the sealion is eating a dozen or so of them.

  • wow fcken awesome.... seeing things with another animal's perspective is like being on an another dimension.... this vid is bitchin

  • Seal lion enjoyed a nice octo-salad here.

  • I think the sea lion won!!!

  • Wow! It's amazing to see the whole battle, from start to finish. For the last couple of minutes, it almost looks like the sea lion was playing with it.

  • so this is amazing an octopus killed a shark on other video a sea lion kills a octopus in this one and the shark kills sea lions in other one thats real circle of life or what?

  • @jorasave no that's nature's version of rock-paper-scissors.

  • @jorasave yeah frogs sometimes kill elefants, fuckin way of live get used to it xD,.,.,.

  • @jorasave and in future u will see how they kill thereselfs here on youtube 'cause the animals all will wear a cam

  • gah why does everything underwater look like sperm

    Octopus is yummy!!!!!!!!

  • man thats so cool! a sealion in his daily life haha

  • Is this fast-forwarded? 'Cause if not, this Sea Lion is moving like a missile when it dives for the octopus @ 1:29 and again @ 2:01.

And the view looking up at the surface of the water when the sea lion is ascending is beautiful.

  • @12809inthetubes Google it. Sea lions have a documented top speed of 25 mph in the water, faster than any other pinniped.

Yeah this is a great vid.

  • Wicked Cool ....

  • Now THAT's an experience. I felt like I was there riding the sea lion. Watching the video full screen makes me dizzy

  • @kyle7286 Agreed... none of that goofy narration.

  • awesome! brutal yet beautiful!

  • DR. OCTAGUNAPUS!

  • BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • It's...eating the octopus...alive!!!!!!

WTF?! The real lion shows some kind of religious respect for its prey, at the point it won't start to eat't until its completely dead; I guess, without any personal presumption, the name sea-lion to be a bit incorrectly assigned...

  • oh wow a fucking video i can wach

  • nom nom nom that bitch right up...did she taste like chicken?

  • sea lion... what an original name -.-

  • @sirdynamo

    better than ur mom's name

  • Sea lion really know how to eat good stuff..

  • must have been tiring.

  • that seal REALLY wanted that octopus

  • I think this is pretty amazing footage!

  • The sea lion was like a fighter pilot. Amazing

    Sealions FTW

  • i think i burned some calories watching that sea lion work

  • hahahahahahahahahahah

  • at about 4:00 the sea lion is carrying an arm of octopus :O

  • it be funny if both of them were fighting and a shark comes and eats them lol

  • lol its funny when it walks

  • awsom if they posteda buncha these maby sorter and diffrent animals it would be cool

  • The cameraman seems to the the sealion itself, with an attached camera. Octopuses are very intelligent for animals with no backbones, I wonder how its intelligence compares to the sealion's. The mollusk evaded the mammal for a long time, he did quite well but still died in the end. I doubt the octupuses cousin the giant squid will ever met up with this sealion but that would be a turning of the tables. He is more likely to meet with the wrong end of a shark some day.

  • @Untemperedsteel: The camera is indeed glued onto the sealion's back. No caeraman involved, only a cameracetacean.

  • @puncheexThe sealino caught the octopus in relatively shallow water (not deep enough to eliminate sunlight), and one by one clipped off and ate the arms. It also dragged it to the surface where the sealion could breathe. Octopi don't have a rigid skeleton to use for leverage, and is used to predating on even slower prey, like crabs. In shallow water they are just a big muscular gulp. That's why they have to be so good at camouflage.

  • at 10:15 is a cut ;)

  • he went down pretty deep to get that octopus. And I am surprised the octopus did not bite more and get some blood.

  • the video should have started at 7:30 .....

  • kudos to the cameraman

  • !!!!!!!!! WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • imagine beint eaten arms legs and torso first i mean watching this kind of kil makes you appriciate the killing ability of the big cats who choke their food out before they eat

  • Welcome to the jungle Octopus.

  • Octopus give him hell

  • @sunlion55 I was hoping the octopus would win

  • @sunlion55

how could a shallow water octopus kill a sea lion???

  • @Funghettinho By using the Force.

  • Wow, that octopus wasn't easy to kill. Or was the Sea Lion just having fun with it? -- Thanks for the upload without all the melodramatic edits. ^__^
