It shouldn't matter if it's a cable modem, you can use powerline instead of wi-fi. The powerline unit plugs into the router (router = modem as far as home devices are concerned, most people won't have a router that isn't also a modem, except for some wi-fi gateways) in the ethernet port.
You can plug the laptop into the modem directly, or plug a switch into the modem (if it only has 1 port), and then plug the laptop and desktop into the switch.

@nessnes64 - I did a report in wireless class (computing course) about avoiding the health hazards, without making a big deal of how blatantly painful they are. I got a lot of scientific journal pulished papers that supported the health hazards and used them as references.
If you need to use it you can attach an extension cable to a plug-in card or dongle so it's focused away from your body - but that wouldn't stop any harm it does to bees or any other creatures of course.
@nessnes64 - try powerline instead of wi-fi, it might not be suitable for every home cause of the electrical wiring (just depends on the quality and how it's connected up) - they're bridges / switches that plug into wall sockets, and send the data via the electrical cables. You plug one into the router-modem, and the other in the wall for what room you want them in, then plug the other computers / consoles into it.

AM stations do not broadcast at gigahertz frequencies. IF this is an AM station, it is licensed by the FCC to broadcast on the Medium Wave sub-band in the United States. That is between 520 kHz1,610 kHz. There should not be any health concerns regarding the frequency bands these transmitters operate at. Even if the station is powerful and one had a concern, the solution is very simple: stay away from the tower. Bringing the tower down is a very stupid idea and it solves nothing.

I'm a tower hand. I build these towers. I will tell you now that unless you're standing 20 feet away from the antenna, it's not harmful. I know I've worked with FM and AM radios for over 20 years. However, when you buy meat, you're contributing to an unsustainable cycle that artificially inflates prey populations to levels that consume an enormous amount of water and land. It shouldn't matter if it's a cable modem, you can use powerline instead of wi-fi. The powerline unit plugs into the router (router = modem as far as home devices are concerned, most people won't have a router that isn't also a modem, except for some wi-fi gateways) in the ethernet port.
You can plug the laptop into the modem directly, or plug a switch into the modem (if it only has 1 port), and then plug the laptop and desktop into the switch.

@nessnes64 - I did a report in wireless class (computing course) about avoiding the health hazards, without making a big deal of how blatantly painful they are. I got a lot of scientific journal pulished papers that supported the health hazards and used them as references.
If you need to use it you can attach an extension cable to a plug-in card or dongle so it's focused away from your body - but that wouldn't stop any harm it does to bees or any other creatures of course.

AM stations do not broadcast at gigahertz frequencies. IF this is an AM station, it is licensed by the FCC to broadcast on the Medium Wave sub-band in the United States. That is between 520 kHz1,610 kHz. There should not be any health concerns regarding the frequency bands these transmitters operate at. Even if the station is powerful and one had a concern, the solution is very simple: stay away from the tower. Bringing the tower down is a very stupid idea and it solves nothing.

I'm a tower hand. I build these towers. I will tell you now that unless you're standing 20 feet away from the antenna, it's not harmful. I know I've worked with FM and AM radios for over 20 years. I have no cancer no ills of any kind aside from aging. I will also say that, yes, these towers will be rebuilt. Probably bigger, with more power. Keep knocking it down! we'll keep getting PAID to put them back up.

However, when you buy meat, you're contributing to an unsustainable cycle that artificially inflates prey populations to levels that consume an enormous amount of water and land. Forests are cleared for grazing or livestock zones that will only last for so long. This destroys animal habitats, makes water more expensive, and releases methane.

Construction is not an inevitability, look at what happened when the recession kicked in.
It doesn't make all insurance costs go up, only those for radio station towers. Do your economic research, higher insurance costs for these towers means higher costs to maintain them, meaning less of them can be afforded.
