@betzaleldaniel Regrettably, as I do not have perfect pitch, I have to compromise & use a digital tuner, and so I have to use equal temperament...if I could find a method of getting into authentic just tuning, that would be great! Do you have any suggestions on how I could do this? My efforts to tune the lyre cyclically in perfect 5ths, 4ths etc works OK...until I try and tune the 3rds! :o(
@Klezfiddle1 I think you can learn it. It is not necessary to have perfect pitch, just listen to the sound waves "beats". I tune piano perhaps I can explain it to you some time. Another suggestion see if the piano tuning application for ipod has historical temperaments (it's $200 but my professional tuner is $1700 ...so not so bad).there are some other software around, usually expensive...best is to learn by ear
@Klezfiddle1 the true is that I am still acquiring experience in the field of historical tuning but I plan to get a synthesizer, just to get acustumed to the tunings without having to tune a whole piano, it allows you to tune each note by frequency.so if you buy one too you you can tune the lyre to it.
Are you using equal temperament? have you some temperament preference for this type of music?

Hah, the violin and the lyre - the one called "kinnor" in Modern Hebrew and the other called "kinnor" in Biblical Hebrew! :))
