Wow man. I mean, that's a crazy amount of gold. Now, I'm no "environmentalist", but I definitely feel that if you're going to run a project such as this, then you should be responsible enough to make sure that the natural resources are kept safe. Especially since people rely on that lake. It's not just some unused water source.

@GeekingForJesus look at the history of mining, where ever they go they destroy the landscape, pollute the environment and change people livelihoods. There is no "safe" way to mine profitably in Alaska, to remove every micro gram of gold the company will use cyanide and create mountains of toxic slag, when the Gold runs out so will the corporations.

It is surprising that the ultra-uber-rabid-fascist environmentalists are vegans, yet, they have not a thing to say about the disdainful practice by natives who eat fish and meat.

Personally, I'd rather be able to mine gold and purchase everthing I need to look after myself and my people. If anyone thinks that gold mining will destroy all salmon, in the world, they know nothing about mining and little about salmon. The last BC sockeye salmon run was too big! Salmon are tough!

He didn't do all the fraud by himself; he guided his son along the way in his fraudulent business. @KaiserThovex I thought about that too. I guess individuals own shares and are lawfully allowed to own property and enterprises here. I have mixed feelings on this. A lot of gold and copper there for the mining, and though I generally am on the side of progress, still I'd hate to see that pristine water and wilderness ruined. I truly do think there is a way to do both but only with very careful planning and working to contain the mining waste. Look at the Gulf of Mexico. RN
