Thanks for the excellent video. I've watched for a while now. I love your excellent commentary on the honesty of unfilled briar. That makes a lot of sense to me and how o try to live. Where can I find another poker like that? who did you say made it?
lately (last few weeks) my favorite pipe has been my Blakemar Canadian, given to me by a good friend. Check em' out if you havent Tom, boy what a great pipe
Never used a torch lighter with my pipes. Seems like pipe suicide! :P I never use matches anymore though. They're annoying. Pipe lighters for me! And my favorite pipe? I dunno. I haven't smoked them in a while (it's been a horrible winter here in Norway), but I think my Stanwell (191) is my most pleasant one. It's a delicate pipe with a fairly small bowl, so it's not a long smoke, but just perfect for what it is. And it's really light and good looking in my mouth. Can't go wrong with that :)
I used a torch lighter on my 3rd pipe after getting frustrated with it going out so much. First light, and basically melted part of the brim of the bowl. Learned my lesson quick. Luckily it was only a cheap Chinese pipe.
What was that background noise on the firsthalf of the video? Sounded like...rain. :) Your getting all kindsa pipes lately! No long walk to work today ehh? Take care Tom!!!
I have to agree with you on the beauty of natural flaws in the briar. Regarding your production values, there's plenty of room here for good old down home sittin' around smokin' and shooting the breeze.
that is a pipe to admire, great pipes have character, and if they come with life scars, they will be lifelong friends. I like it. I hope 2012 will continue to be good to you..
I don't know if I've ever said this to you before, but I love your videos. Your intelligent words combined with your calming voice reveal that, like your new favorite pipe, your honesty & unabashed humanity shine through. I hope that 2012 is very good to you & that you find yourself surrounded by great smoking buddies. ~Dennis
It's so funny to listen to your experiences concerning your pipes. I think that we all have had the same moments. One day you prefer your Poker, the next day you like to smoke your Oom Paul. I totally agree that it is a great moment to enjoy a smoke with other people. Therefore thank you very much for sharing your pipe smoke moment with us. :)
it sounds as if you have the same weather as we do in Germany. Today, it's rainy with thunderstorms. The ideal weather for staying at home and smoking a pipe, but unfortunately I'm gonna need to leave for work in a couple of minutes. :-( You may use a torch lighter if you use it for just a second. It's really difficult and needs some experiences. I used to use a torch for a couple of months and it worked well for me.
No Fills No Bull! Haha I agree with you on leaving the flaws Tom. Funny enough I am smoking one of my favorite pipes watching this vid! Cool to hear that rain coming down on the shed there, its been pretty dry here for a while. Good to see ya Tom.
Your Videos are great man it really does feel like were sitting down BS'ing over a pipe when i watch one of your videos anymore "production" value would ruin the feel you bring to your videos, I feel. Keep them coming!!
That is a handsome pipe, no doubt. And your right, there are allot of great pipe presenters on YouTube that do allot to make the vids amazing! But the ones who just turn the camera on, like you do, are just as fun to watch, well I think so anyways!
yes, you are a very cool guy! it is very relaxing to listen to you - the wonderfull nature impressions at that! very beautiful pipe! i like it. now im smoking red reparree in my alldayhero, a stanwell billard....wish i got some squadron leader at home.. hehe :P RRR, at now, a little bit too sweet, but even delicious!
