Sweet Mosin!!! I have a 31-90 and it is the most accurate gun ive ever shot. I can hit bullseyes all day at 100 yards with just iron sights. I noticed your bolt seems to catch on your scope. I would try to find an curved-handle bolt to avoid that. They shouldnt cost more than $30-$35.......... If you can find one
got a nice 91/30 made in 38 for $110 including the tax, came with a beyonet amo puches tool kits cleaning kits and something that looks like a Mickey Mouse head and i honestly have no idea what it is, the thing comes caked in kosmoline
The Irish song kinda killed it. But Im a fan of the Mosin Nagant. Its a old piece of S*#$ but...very cheap and affordable which made me bought it. I need help for find a good scope for it. Anyone help me?
How were you able to mount a rail on the gun, i have two of them and want a scope on one so i can hunt, but theres nowhere to put a scope rail, if someone could tell me that would be awesome! its a m44 1948 hungarian.
holy shit the bolt barely makes it clear of the scope...lol...those are really good rifles..over 500k where made by remingtion in the US during ww2..they are very rare...
@justinRkeaton NC Star makes some but the one I put on my M44 broke. It can also be attached to M91/30s, not SVT40 though unfortunately. Best to have a C-clamp for when you take off the rear sight and put the scope mount on, makes things a lot easier.
@adriandagangster - It may be possible, i would imagin so anyway, though i could be wrong... ask you local Gun Smith for more information, or search various video's to see if anyone has a Hex Receiver and PU Scope. Sincerely- Brownnz.
Nice song bro, is it Irish? sounds Irish. I have a M91/30, made in 1943, laminated stock, (no optics currently, though do plan on getting a scope system for it). Correct me if I'm wrong, but yours wass made in 1905-1935, has a laminated stock, Hexagonal reciever, and Long Eye Relief Scope... I'm gonna guess Leupold? or savage?
@Imabananna1 - Nah, the guy replied saying it was Irish, plus I found it on YouTube a couple months ago... can't remember the name of it for the life of me, but I should considering I'm primarily Irish. Sincerely- Brownnz.
@Brownnz92TNPfan Last time I played this in session one of the other players said it was 17th century English originally. But the voices are Scots I am certain of that. Off topic-Nice looking scope what power?
he could also move the scope forward a little, enabling him to still load stripper clips, but one must remember, its his rifle. i own one too, and its my pride and joy. he most likely feels the same about his beauty. :) looks good, all told.
This is how ludicrous and ridiculous your m44 / m91/30 can look if you do things half assed... If you put effort and do a drill and tap you can make it look authentic.
@mrfiux I wouldn't use a scope that costs 10X as much as the rifle, but tapping the rear site retention pins out and installing a scope turned this M44 into a nice scout rifle. If he heated the bolt and tapped it over, it would clear the scope.
excellent lamo stock on that one, bolt handle looks like it smacks the scope a bit but probably pretty managable. the long rail looks like it might get flimsy after a bit of shooting but all n all pretty sweet. also congrats on not removing bayo and lug....thats just annoying
@divinelifez ...not because of the reasons you've given. The problem is that the muzzle flash and blast in an enclosed space produced with full (factory) loadings would leave both shooter and target blind and deaf for 10 good minutes, especially in the middle of the night with dilated pupils. One alternative would be to pin the guy on a wall with the bayonet, close your eyes and THEN press the trigger.
@divinelifez A bolt action is a bolt action. A modern one is neither more adept nor more powerful than WW1 era rifles. About the nagant, the carbine versions remove the difficulty to move the weapon indoors and the bolt can be worked as fast as the pump of a shotgun with reasonable training. The bullet is overkill for anything on two legs and shotguns don't spread at indoor ranges, so no accuracy advantage there.
Now, the carbine nagants still are terrible defense weapons but...
Oh no very wrong. 1st of, Shotguns can spread indoors. Just not at a wide angle unless they have time to travel. Secondly The mosin nagant was the rifle to have the most recorded sniper kills way back. Lastly it certainly is not terrible for defense. It fires a 7.62x54 This round was used in the m60. It has stunning ballistics, and You could immobilize a threat from 300 yards. Distance is an advantage. 7.62x54 also can hit armor, modern civilian rifles like ar15s cannot.
@VMW108 SHUSH ! An 18 inches barelled shotgun firing buckshot will have a spread pattern of about 10 cm in diameter at 10 yds. So unless you're living in a castle, shotguns won't spread when used at indoor ranges.
I have a ton of mosins, no need to remind me of their capabilities. The maximum range for hitting a human target (with a good barrel) is 800-1000 yards, not 300.
The 7.62x54 is used in the SVD rifle and the PK mg, certainly not by the m60. Americans don't use soviet cartridges.
@VMW108 And the mosin carbines are terrible for SD because they are too loud and bright, not because they lack power... And their ability to fire through walls is usually unwanted.
@MrHalandor Sure... You are going to say that poland is so democratic? You country is only a puppet. You follow democracy only to fulfill your needs and recieve UN aid. The most democratic nation remaining is Switzerland and the US
@divinelifez well duh it's useless as a self defense weapon. I would never have a bolt-action anything for self defense. that's what my carbine, pistols, and shotguns are for. I was just making a point that it is powerful enough to do alot of damage to a person if you were ever in a position where an enemy is some distance from you.
this rifle has been excellent for hunting so far and is fun to shoot at the range. no accuracy problems at all for me. as long as people use it to hunt, its useful
@divinelifez what do you mean the nagant is useless after ww2? it's a pretty awesome hunting rifle so far, great fun at the range, and can tear someone up in case of self defense.
@mexicankid625 You're a dumb ass. Just because it has a 20" barrel and not a 28" barrel like the 91/30 doesn't mean its going to be any less accurate. The guy in the video is a dumb ass too, he's using a rifle scope on a scout scope mount.
@KozMick1 Because our country lets us have them. But in reality, I agree with you. I hate sporterized and bubba-ized guns. Worst thing I ever saw was a photo of a mosin that had been painted black, and everything metal was painted white.
@cornkiller1 yep. those mounts are a bad joke. Basically the sight ladder is removed and the mount goes in its place, screwed in thorugh the holes the pin for the sight ladder came out. this is the only point at which it is actually secured to the receiver. just infront of those screws and about 2-3 inchs behind, there are screws that are tightened down onto the receiver to force the mount against it, which have locking screws as well. terrible design that simply doesn't work. maybe ok for a .22

Wait til the bolt gets sticky and he's gotta slam it. Gonna end up either slappin that scope right off, or pinching his finger between the scope and the bolt. Nice song btw. You need a bent bolt... GET BENT! lol jk :P
@Juggalofromthehills - because it is corrosive ammo, and leaves a residue on the bolt, that can damage it, as well as if you can't take care of it for awhile, or if you are shooting for the day, then after you shoot about 15-20 rounds that residue will get on it and make it much harder to use... You can clean it and that will take care of it, but it gets harder if you dont.
Mine did the same when I first got it. Clean out all the internals with gun degreaser (take apart the bolt too), Then take the end of a cleaning rod and put it in an electric drill. Use a 20 ga. brass brush (one that you don't mind tearing up) and put it on the rod. Use some clp and run it at a slow speed in the chamber many times. Then clean it out again and lube it a bit. Works for me...very slick now, even with silver bear and surplus from sardine cans.
where ear protection i use earplugs and ear covers with earplugs my ears will still ring a little also if it is new and never sited in bring tools it is no fun to go shooting with a gun you can't hit any thing with mine was 4 inches high and about 9 inches to the left the first time i took it out and that was only at about 50 yards
i found mine for 119.00 unused with tax at a gun shop in Missouri the guy had 3 of them i got one and my dad bought one there ok for just playing around with at the range every time i want people to leave because there too many people there i break it out and the first shot makes everyone look and buy the 20th or so people stared leaving this gun when shot you feel it in your bones .lol
atnipjoe: The M44 that I own,was built my the woman I brought it from. She and her late husband both worked at the itzhvek plant in Russia. She sold it to me for $80.00,she could no loner handle the recoil at 87yrs of age.The M44 is truely a HandHeld CANNON..!!!
umm...try eBay or amazon or just Google it....and btw the mosing nagant scope is alot better than a scope like that but that is a good scope for a more modern gun
Ok well then Stfu and keep your stupid comments to your self. you got yours for $80 great find, but still most of them so far that i have seen are roughly around $200
man that thing better be in excellent condish or you just got ripped..i just bought a m44 numbers match for 100 along with 74 rounds and 2 stripper clips
Yea i bought mine from a nearby dealer, and its in pretty condition (no scratches and the wood is great) but i only got the gun and sling i had to buy strippers and scope + ammo separate total cost about 300 dollars. I know i got ripped a'lil but hey im a newb to the gun world :D
i fired my mosin for the first time today, now i have a few rifles rem 700, benelli, ar15 and i have to say this 1944 $100 rifle looking at price and performance is the BEST rifle i own going to pick up another one next week best money iv ever spent on a rifle that said she hits like a mule that steel end on the stock could use a little work to say the least very happy with purchase
I bought today it is the 91/30 they had the carbine last time they had them i was told, still the best damn $100 iv ever spent, a total bitch to clean though
You can buy the common 91/30 full length nagant for that price, not the M44 carbine w/ bayonet. If you can, let me know and I will buy some too. The M44's are hard to find.
I really dont know anything about this rifle but my local shops got a whole crate at $100 each with bayonet seems like a truely rocking good deal for any rifle if you ask me but is it good

@Brownnz92TNPfan: I know it is corrosive ammo. I guess I just got lucky because I can fire pretty much as much as I want and mine never gets sticky.
Juggalofromthehills 11 months ago
@He already did lol, look at that rubber side of the scope, he ripped it off in the video opening the bolt. lmao.
PatTheRiot 11 months ago
you need to get a bent bolt to operate it effectively with a scope

mine keeps jamming on me.
Im using the right cal size 7.62x54r
Does yours do the same.
futurewillow 2 years ago
how is it jamming
potheadj 2 years ago
Mine did the same when I first got it. Clean out all the internals with gun degreaser (take apart the bolt too), Then take the end of a cleaning rod and put it in an electric drill. Use a 20 ga. brass brush (one that you don't mind tearing up) and put it on the rod. Use some clp and run it at a slow speed in the chamber many times. Then clean it out again and lube it a bit. Works for me...very slick now, even with silver bear and surplus from sardine cans.

Thanks for the advice, I will make sure I take ear plugs and a multi-tool

I seriously just bought one yesterday...i'm 18 and could finally legally buy a rifle..can't wait to take it to the range...any advice anyone?
kevinmartinez3 2 years ago
where ear protection i use earplugs and ear covers with earplugs my ears will still ring a little also if it is new and never sited in bring tools it is no fun to go shooting with a gun you can't hit any thing with mine was 4 inches high and about 9 inches to the left the first time i took it out and that was only at about 50 yards
atnipjoe 2 years ago
shoot it with the bayonet open and clean it after every time you use it the propellant is very corrosive and will fuck up the barrel
potheadj 2 years ago
i found mine for 119.00 unused with tax at a gun shop in Missouri the guy had 3 of them i got one and my dad bought one there ok for just playing around with at the range every time i want people to leave because there too many people there i break it out and the first shot makes everyone look and buy the 20th or so people stared leaving this gun when shot you feel it in your bones .lol

mautsta19 2 years ago
Word of advice....Bring the scope up two slots..chance of the bolt hitting it is likely
DELTA912420 2 years ago
you need a pu 3.5 opticsscope
billbeardmore 2 years ago
i thought when u put those scope mounts on u have to use a eye relief scope, or u get the black ring on any other scope
hawkdlb06 2 years ago
If thats the simple rrear-sights replacement scope rail, it will fall off in a matter of 20-25 shots.

socomplayer23 2 years ago
nah less like 70 J&G
warpuppyTN70 2 years ago
awsome ww2 sniper rifle but you need the offical mosin nagan scope not some cheap simmons scope
socomplayer23 2 years ago
you wouldnt happen to know a website to get an offical nagant scope would you?
bunnyjungle007 2 years ago
umm...try eBay or amazon or just Google it....and btw the mosing nagant scope is alot better than a scope like that but that is a good scope for a more modern gun
socomplayer23 2 years ago
Simmons scops work great.
Mine has helped me to take dozens of deer and hogs, as Im a nuisance hunter.
Shots out to 300 meters and my 30-06 is zero'd in.

i fired my mosin for the first time today, now i have a few rifles rem 700, benelli, ar15 and i have to say this 1944 $100 rifle looking at price and performance is the BEST rifle i own going to pick up another one next week best money iv ever spent on a rifle that said she hits like a mule that steel end on the stock could use a little work to say the least very happy with purchase
dirtball91 2 years ago
are you going to put a turn-down bolt on it ?
sonick808 2 years ago
I bought today it is the 91/30 they had the carbine last time they had them i was told, still the best damn $100 iv ever spent, a total bitch to clean though
dirtball91 2 years ago
Picking up mine tomorrow its $107 out the door
dirtball91 2 years ago
You can buy the common 91/30 full length nagant for that price, not the M44 carbine w/ bayonet. If you can, let me know and I will buy some too. The M44's are hard to find.
