The thing about a depression that one must always remember is that it has a beginning and an end. Think about it. It starts with an even plane, or a peek then there's a downward incline, followed by an upward incline. So, in essence, what i'm trying to say is that depression shows you care enough to look to the upside. It's all about the ebb and the flow.

i am saying, This System is destroying the community of life to the point that it will no longer support humans and a slew of other species. we contribute to This System every time we buy anything.

scenario two: gigantic global corporations monoculturally grow genetically modified food at the cost of the health of the surrounding ecosystems, and sell them to people who acquire their money by working more than any culture of humans ever had.... this sentence sucks.

i'm so confused.
our system is much more simplified than most other human cultures. we disregard the sacred and the supernatural, we disregard vast parts of our own psyche - we disregard each other. i am definitely supporting personalization.
i am in favor of "mom and pop" stores over big corporations, but i am really against the entire "you need to build another man's pyramid in order to survive" mindset. i am against STORES in general.

no. i have always felt this way since i was born.
when i was five years old, people began to teach me that my ideologies about the world were INCORRECT. they taught me that the world has always been this way and it's never gonna change and humans are a virus and a million of other memes.
then, as i got older, i started to read a lot more and found out that my ideology is supported by many anthropologists and scientists.
this "ideology" was not taught to be, but it has been supported by books

Zack, you are awesome. Just got done watching a 2 hour video of Derrick Jensen's discussion of endgame on google video. Very impressive. I had the focus all wrong before. But, I think we need more than just vague ideas about dismantling civilization. (Though I admit I haven't read the books yet.) This is going to take action...but this is the right way. The whole "back to simplicity" idea is great,there are already communities all around the world,i know a few.. Not so totally independent though.I know one that doesnt even use money.But getting there all around the world means loads of blood and struggle.And time.Years and years.
To make people understand.So,i guess its easier for all to go underground,let all the bullies drop their bombs and then come up to a destroyed - but free and hopefully "lesson learned" world.Not a good idea either...

Joining it? Where? Who? How? What are u going to do? Buy a forest and set up a commune? Hunt and gather? What? How to live outside of civilization? And if there were a nuclear holocaust tomorrow (as apparently there almost was: watch?v=Cc0eUtBAWyA) and civ was lost and we went back to a tribal existence, wouldn't humans just begin again the progression toward civ, like the marxist primal-feudal-capital-commy progression? Seems futile...

when i read ishmael i got the sense that it all comes down to population control. that there are just too damn many people and they spread and grow too fast, faster than resources and the environ can support. so cant we just have a 'one child policy' for the world like china has and still keep civilization? something like the solution in celestine proph.
