  • Most mold problems just mean somethings to wet... find out why, fix it, then kill the mold. When you need professional help is usually when it has gotten out of hand, or when you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

  • ElitePokerPlayer,, you are right that bleach doesn't fuel mold by itself, but all cleaners with bleach are recommended for hard surfaces, not wood or porous materials because the water molecules will soak into the wood and keep it wet, mold only needs water and food, so when you use a bleach type product the water will remain if it has soaked in, and it will still be there when the chlorine has dissipated. That is why some would say that bleach fuels mold. its not the bleach its the water.

  • Anybody who says bleach fuels mold is just crazy. Nothing can live in bleach

  • Clorox Clean up spray works fine to kill mold. I did it and the black mold was gone after two or three applications and never came back. I also recommend adequate ventilation when doing this.

  • @ElitePokerPlayer I agree, I killed mold with bleach myself.

  • Bleach will kill most molds but the water in the bleach can soak into permeable surfaces like wood or sheet rock and actually feed the mold. So that's why bleach is not the best choice.. However it is practical to use it on hard surfaces for quick clean ups when you are not concerned with anything soaking into the material.

  • i heard that bleach spreads mold, is this true because bleach is what ive always been told to use to rid of it. as well as prevent it from forming

  • you are absolutely right, removing the moisture allows the mold to die. however anyone with any allergies or sensitivities to mold spores or "dusts" or particles would probably want the area cleaned. But without the moisture it won't come back.. you are very perceptive. Rodney

  • if you take away the water supply won't the mold die without having to be removed?

  • Wow, this video is amazing! Thanks for the meaty information, it has been very helpful.
