The golden, and dark eras of Tyne Tees collide in one clip.
On the positive, Taylor and Cowey of The Tube producing another great OB, then we go to the YTV-sourced 1993 continuity that was so bad that TTTV had to repeatedly apologise for it. Even on this relatively good example we see a flash of the YTV ads before the TTTV ones replace them, and TT are forced to fade to black for over a second otherwise the YTV logo would have flashed up due to the dirty feed to Newcastle.
The absolute nadir of the Brits (Craig Brown: "once upon a time, pop music was sung by the young to outrage the old - now, it seems, it is sung by the old to embarrass the young"), but then it was just before the big changes at Radio 1 etc. Appropriately, Simon Bates voices the Brit Awards album ad.

Oh, and this was the precise point where News at Ten - much like ITV itself - became horribly sensationalist and tabloid.
