I was with B 1/5 in 66-67. I had no idea this video was on here until today. Triggered some memories, even though it is not my unit. Thanks for posting.
My husband was a Marine Tank Commander 1969-70. Tours were a year long so he spent a Thanksgiving there. This has given me a glimpse at what these brave men endured. God Bless their courage. God Bless you for sharing.
My 1968 Thanksgiving in Vietnam, we were in the bush and supposed to get hot chow - the usual stuff for Thanksgiving. But because of weather the choppers were grounded. And we had not been resupplied, the hot chow was supposed to come with resupplies. So, not many had anything to eat - so we went to the trash pit and picked through what had been thrown away; p-nut butter, etc. My '68 Thanksgiving - put a damper on T-day when I came home, until I married and my wife and she "gave" it back.
I was with A 2/5 when this was made. We knew that it would be shown nationally on CBS (I think) so I had wrote and told my wife and parents to watch. I had expected that they would see us having a Thanksgiving meal, instead this is what they got. I had never seen it before and wish to thank you for posting it.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. It's a great honor to provide you with an account of your time in service to this great nation. God bless you all.
i was one of the replacements that joined a/2/5 in early december after the attack. thank you for showing me what i missed that thanksgiving.to all who served, you're often in my thoughts. welcome home and stay well.
I'm sending an e-mail out to all the guys from A-2/5th. I was there this day and had been in country just over 1 month when this took place. I had heard this was around somewhere but hadn't been able to find it. I'm sure comments will be coming from our unit soon. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you posted this. Thanks so much and God bless you.

My dad told me about this 15 years ago. This is the first time I have seen it and it is quite unbelievable. Thanks!
