This vid was posted back in 2009 but nowadays I think most people know there is not enough gold and silver in the world to pay off the national debt. I agree with stocking up on the food. Cooking devices. Medical. Paper. Not ridicules at all.
I've been trying for ages to get an awareness group together in my area but no body wants to know, which is sad. my friends tolerate it i suppose, which is better then nothing so i factor everyone into my plans, what they will need, i 'm going to get them etc. its tough going.
hey great post!!one thing i was watching a while ago is to store seeds for ur garden, even if u dont use them urself they r good as barter tools, also coffee, salt and things of that nature will be the new currency, instead of gold or silver i would bet on seeds, coffee, salt tobacco, spirits, wool, etc.lemme know what u think or if u have more ideas.like u say dont blow ur life savings on this, just buy an extra can of something everytime u shop.keyword couponsssss lol
Hording canned goods may not be the perfect LT plan, but the average person with no special abilities or equipment can do it easily and be somewhat prepared for food 'outages' of several weeks or more. I started this a few years ago after the loss of power for several days. I also keep some water, kero cooker and kero heater, coolers, and frozen 'blocks' in a freezer. Frozen water in gal jugs are good in the freezer too; keeps food cold w/o power. And you can drink if need-be. Rice & pasta too
@dinohoax What I do with the liquor is get it in those tiny airline bottles. Makes it easy to barter with. I also stock the larger bottles as well.. but its more like "change" in smaller bottles.

Thank you for making this video. Clearly are a sweet guy. You have many good points and advice here. However...don't you hate that! hehe..however, you got to take this a couple more steps. For i.e. vacuum seal your foods using mylar bags, food storage, and Oxygen Absorber. Can't run with cans, though good to have, you should also have some dehydrated (light weight) foods in a bug out bag. Choose foods that are low in salt, and sugar (they are poising you with those foods). Just my 2 cents.
Anyone can google "emergency prepardness" and find a ton of information and lists galore. Buying "extra" every time you grocery shop is a great way to start. It can be overwhelming but think of it as "insurance" -- its not like that food will go to waste. Store what you use, and USE what you store. There are also many websites where you can order things. Walmart's camping section has several different non-food items. Educate yourself of shelf life. Great video!
I've started with my family. We're still cleaning up after the ice storms in January and I said to dad, "I want to do more stuff with my shotgun. The storm got me thinking about our survival capabilities." I've bought 200 shells of ammo, skeet targets for practice and we still have the generator we used.
I think it's a good start, but I have a lot more I want to buy, like those neat crank radios!
good work my friend there is no substitue for being ready for chaos......appreciate the now ....cause these will soon be the good old days....you left out one important task .....prayer don't start your day without it.
You spoke about talking to your neighbors this is a good and bad idea if you talk to much now it may come back to bite you in the butt later. Never let anyone know where you are storing your supplies what you are storing doesn't matter but not the amount you are storing though, Something simple like we have enough for us or I have enough for me I hope. This is not to say you shouldn't help if you can because we all should cause when the time comes we will all need allies. Keep trade item in mind
Great Video. Hopefully more people will wake up. I have one suggestion. In planning for food, consider that you have no electricity, gas, or fresh water available. NOW go back and look at what you have, and get what you need. I started last year and I have a very good supply for my family. Next was shelter, that is done. Now all I need are the guns to fight off those who didn't prepare. Bless you for sharing. Good luck..
Watch out how you store your oatmeal and othre grains, flour, conrmeal ect. If not repacked, no air, moisture proofing in space bags , it will get buggy in a short time. Be sure to check it for bugs after you buy it before re-packing. Buy items that you can most likely barter with later as well. Buy an air compressor that you can reverse lol to suck out the air from packing bags. Buy air free packed goods.
Less coins, more guns/magazines/ammo and professional training so you can use them like a pro. Guns dont make anyone a warrior, just like giving someone an instrument doesnt make them a musician :)
I think it is way too late to talk to neighbors unless you have stored enough for them also. You could become a target. I have many family members that will not listen, even now! So I know my luck would not be much better with my neighbors. And that is just simple reality. Think carefully.
Learn QuantumTouch. Heal broken bones or anything else with it. Energy healing. Very easy to learn. Way of the future.
Learn how to build a cob house, a rocket stove, learn what foods can be foraged, ie. dandelion greens and acorns.
No offense but your plan won't carry you far. Learn true survival skills. The men that know true survival will not be in short supply of desirous women. Go ahead and make that your incentive if you must.
Thanks for the advice. The checklist is the same as mine. Add some canned milk, dried peas/lentels, chocolate bars, MRE's, pasta, dried fruit, wind-up flashlight/radio, cofee/tea bags, matches, candles, and iodized SALT. Basically anything that stores for a long time.
Holy crap cakes!!! An intelligent Black man. Dude You need to instruct all the so called gansta bro's that they are going down a dead end street with there gang colors and underwear hanging out. I was part of the relief effort for Katrina and if the blacks would have had just half of your intelligence the word nigger would soon be a thing of the past.
Im stocking water, canned foods & propane for the stove & lantern. Chemical light sticks & candles are good to have also. If youve got food, water, a deck of cards & piles of ammo youre way ahead of most people if any breakdown or civil unrest occurs. The TP is a good idea, ive got a large stock of it also. Food, hydration & sanitation all need to be thought about & planned for.
SO if it gets really BAD. Where do all the DOctors run to? Another planet? There will be doctors around. You are preparing for a nuclear war not a reccession.
Well, you'll last an extra week with your survival methods. Can goods will only store for a year or two if you decide to stock up on that. Grains in paper bags won't last a year. Rice even well packaged won't last more than two years.
silver will outperform gold because silver is heavily suppressed way more than other precious metal. silver will definitely gain its value a lot more compare to gold. silver is a better investment compare gold. silver and gold are both preserve wealth and hedge against inflation. since u are buying precious metal to save wealth why not pick the metal that get u extra investment return? it's like kill two birds with one stone. buy silver first if u have the option.
Demcad, get yourself a stockpile of hydrogen peroxide. It'll replace your earwax remover with some dilution, replace your rubbing alcohol, replace your need for mouthwash etc. Very useful, very cheap stuff. Great if you believe in stockpiling.
Don't forget to stock Raman noodles. 200 calories for only about 20 cents. Make sure you have a fishing rod and reel and some tackle. Also, a bicycle and extra shoes and practical clothing.
that will do it... other good things to know is that white vinegar kills 99.9 % bacteria.
Ashes from a camp fire will help stop diarreha. I have also heard honey and sugar will help heal wounds. Have not tried this one yet. pick up some Pau d' Arco at a local health food store for bacterial infections of all kinds. Teas and herbs are for far more than flavor. Great books, Seed to Seed and 10,000 Secrets of Tea, ( for natural healing).
If you are filling containers from city water - ie a garden hose - you shouldn't add chlorine to the water. It already has chlorine in it and will store for 2-4 years. Better to just mark it with a date and just change it out every 2 years. There are water purifiers like Purodene that are better than Chlorine because they improve the taste of the water.
You seem like a cool guy. Have to buy some guns and ammo though. Might have to kill your food or protect your food. Who knows how bad it could get. Might dial 911 and get no answer.
I wanted to also say thank you Reginald for making this video, nice job.
I have been telling my friends and family to prepare for over a year now, they don't listen, perfect example...about two months ago I told my Mom everything could crash we are pretty much ready here, she freaked out and said well I hope not because we're not ready...about two weeks ago she is no further ahead than two months ago and she went and bought a laptop instead of stocking food and supplies-$600 bucks.
Hyperinflation is the real crisis we need to prepare for. I know it is hard to convince your family and friends what is about to happen but I suggest you tell them to visit: Inflation . us
if there is a "major" collapse martial law will be inacted the military will step in the GOV will run everything utilities etc.until things get better, but if they don't im sure the American people will rise up and most likely destroy what little infrastructure is left if our economy hits bottom you can bet the rest of the world will be right behind for instance if the USA is broke we can't buy goods from china there economy dies it will be a domino affect throughout the world
Desperate times will make good people do desperate things hostile countries will try to take advantage of us but there economies will be in ruins also it would be global chaos, farmers will hord food for themselves, power plants will shut down water treatment plants will shut down, shipping traffic will be siezed by pirates cell phone and internet companies will go out of business
communication will be a thing of the past the military will turn into a large armed gang
LOL. I use not so well known cheap soy sauce exported from my native Asian country. My grandpa used the same brand and he had 10 children, excluding the ones who died before age 5. I hope I'm still fertile. P.S. I never had chickenpox yet.
technology has advanced to the point where people wont be homeless. sure there are people homeless now. But with the amount of real estate...in the event that the economy does completely collapse people will just riot and live illegaly in houses. Its not like 1930 when people lived with all of their family and when they got kicked out there was nowhere to live. there is easily a house or apartment for every family.
Great idea!! I like this video!! Alot of people are living in fantasy land right now, but we all have to face this reality, at least thats what i'm doing. .
This is random but were can i find silver and things of value? Im going to stock up like you my mama is one smart woman she say allways stock up on can good's because you never know whats going to happen!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm investing heavily in ammo,if I need food, I'll take yours', if I need water, you'ers is mine.Fuck your silver dumbass; get yourself a gun,or you'll be sorry.....
I hope you are just making a point LexiconDevil, your plan would not work well on me as I am buying silver, ammo, AND body armor :) Not to mention getting in lots of target practice, all the ammo in the world won't help you if you can't hit the looters and thieves from a safe distance.
Worst case scenario, you'll only need enough food to get you through from harvest to harvest (which will depend on when/how long your growing seasons are where you live). A little extra never hurts in case of a bad crop yield, but you don't have to spend $5K. However, Alaskans might benefit from a greenhouse :)
All I got to do, is get out of the US since I have a house in Lima, I must say, I don't know when is the best time; I'm unemployed, what do I do? get a job?
Smart man! Don't trust neighbors too much. They might not share your concerns emough to stockpile themselves, but know you have a stockpile when the fit hits the shan!!!
A crop could be stolen or contaminated overnight. Tons of food & liquids YES, but also consider putting on some weight. Watch your fitness but each Kilo overweight means 7000 kcal that'll make you survive 3-5 days (dont forget enough water & vitamins). Overweight cannot be stolen. DEMCAD is doing fine already without knowing it! (no offence); you're sweet and a nice guy. Great video and good tips across the board. So I'm not even mentioning them again. Good job. Take care.
make sure your bottles are not the small size bottle water style they sell in the grocery stores and other convenience stores. Even the bigger ones are to be avoided.
Those bottles are cheap and leak plastic into the water, you can thank the globalizing idiots that try to cut cost at every corner without regard of the health of consumers.
Get some durable bottles which ae BPA free and you don't have to worry about ingesting plastic.
I was just chewing my brother out today he takes showers when he doesnt need to, he calls it his right to take as many as he wants to, he will be hurting when we cant take one once a day let alone once a week or a month when water is cut off OHH he will cry
when the sh*t hits the fan i'm heading for the nearest convent to get me some fresh "nun meat". them there nuns are hot. and they know how to tease a man.
... And don't forget to stash plenty of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, floss etc - 'cause you don't want to feel nasty when everything else is.
Strangely, women's cosmetics (e.g. lipstick) may be tradable barter items in the future worth more than their market value today. The need to look pretty will not be as frequent or urgent - but there will be times! Cosmetics are small, easily storable & not on most people's lists at the moment. Their value may soar if this becomes long term.
I've been storing food and supplies for several years now... I've been buying rice and storing them in buckets with lids. I also have a 50 gallon water barrel- and a water filter...Im planning on getting a solar electric generator- costs about 1500.
And Finally, you think that this will all come to pass for sure? Or are you just worried? If Nukes went off all over America, then your scenario seems justified, but How does one go from bad recession to deep depression to the end of every business and government? All of a sudden we have gone back to a bartering society? Feudalism? Just making clips commenting on the bad news, and telling people its coming? Whats coming? Why do you believe such a grand change is upon us?? What say you??
lol. I don't want to do a gun video. I don't want to scare people away. I want to awaken people in a calm manner. I think that it would be more effective to imply weapons than to show one off.
If you show a rifle off on YouTube, you risk looking like a nut. But if you mention self-defense, people will naturally pick a tool for self-defense. Subtly is a virtue.
It's like trying to hook up with a lady. If you say, "let's go to my house and have sex," she will shy away, but if you say "let's rent a movie and watch it at my house," sex is implied with the lady having to acknowledge it. It's important to communicate ideas in subtle ways.
"but if you say "let's rent a movie and watch it at my house," sex is implied with the lady having to acknowledge it. "
It works this way? Djeeee, that would mean a lot of missed opportunities. I'll have to pick up the phone and check this out with woman who watch movies in my house.
Also, you have what a week's supply? Maybe a month or two? Realistically, shouldn't you get hunting gear? Shouldn't you learn about gardening? If there is not government then why would that affect all the jobs and cause every business to fail? If paper money is worthless and everyone is trading, then why can't a business just pay you in goods? Like If you work at McDonald's, you could be paid in hamburgers, which in turn you could trade for other items??
Very Interesting, but I'll believe the economic collapse when it happens. I would like to see a video explaining what exactly you think life is gonna be like post-collapse.. If the Federal government fell apart wouldn't local government continue? The Police would instantly have the most power in a devastation scenario, as they have the most weapons and jails and they are already well organized. So IF this happened wouldn't life revert back quickly? I mean, dirt poor nations have governments!
Save yourself. You may have to lie and tell her that you overreacted, so that you believes that you are no longer storing food, because if there is a food shortage, she'll come looking for you.
You need to be careful what you say to your neighbors. Test the waters first. Find the sensible neighbors.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO! You should do another one of these or have a brainstorming session regarding different things that might come up. I am talking with family & friends, trying to put together a plan and even a support network meant for a time when things get really bad. Everyone is pretty slow to wake up, and I still have a lot of people around me that are in denial or just not interested. I'm going to be upset when I have to help them in the future when I've tried to warn them. Oh well...
Reginald, Very good video! I really don't know what to do about my neighbors. We've lived on our street for almost 20 years and know most of the people, but I just don't know how to begin to approach them on *this* subject. I need to read through the rest of the comments -- hopefully people will have told what they did. My husband wants me to lay low and not "tip our hand". . . he feels it's too late to prep if most of them haven't already.
Just got my dad on board...other than that, its my wife and me and the 3 boys.we have a good surplus of food and alternate ways to cook if theres a natural disaster or ice storm,or........ya ,U know! The government may get whats comin to them,or..maybe they planned it this way all along...either way,im lookin forward to the time off work,....peace to us all.
Good vid Reg. Thinking the same. Got about two weeks stored up. Over here in Ontario, Canada, just coming into the planting season. Been speaking to some people, there is a bit of agreement in conversation. Later. Brendan
i appreciate the video and the tips on preparing. Listen people, this isnt meant to scare you at all, its all about preparing for the worse while hoping for the best. I mean if the worse doesnt happen then fine but it never hurts to be ready for whatever. The gov't sure isnt gonna get u prepared, hell they wont even tell u the truth about where we're going from here. and yes I am talking with family friends and the neighborhood about this.
DontelsDaMan, you mention talking with "the neighborhood about this". . . Can you elaborate how you went about doing that? Did you just do one-on-one or did you try to have a meeting, send out a letter??? I am in a quandry about the whole "neighbor" thing. My husband feels it's too late and we'll "showing our hand" so to speak. . . But I keep thinking maybe other people nearby are prepping too???
If you stay home with your bag of rice and flashligh the government is going to become even more dictatorial because then they will know for youre that people are idiots
The women stayed at home and fenced against lootters with the shotgun and the molotov cocktails and the man went to fight the government.
When all was said and done, the result was that from that point on the govenment was scared of the people instead of the people being scared of the government.
While I appreciate your sharing your experience, I'm not sure how this would work in the US. The trouble with comparing Argentina (and how they handled their crisis) with the US is the United States is over 4 times larger both in landmass and population -- same with Iceland (who also only has 300,000 people). Logistically, they're very different and organizing the people will be very difficult because of that. But. . . maybe
I have been prepared for 7 months. Cover your bases: I have a year supply of freeze dried food, cans, emergency buckets, water purifiers, silver, gold, smith & wesson, and plenty of batteries. Flashlights, extra blankets, first aid kits, survival back packs, and emergency rations. I'm leaving out a whole bunch of stuff, but there are some great websites on the internet devoted to emergency preparedness. Google it and prepare.
a security issue....lose weight if food gets scarce...maintaining your weight will tip off looters and theives that you have a food store....stay a little hungry...go get food with your ration card...just be careful not to get in unsafe crowds...
does sound funny but thnk about it...you dont have food in the pantry but your 400 lb neighbor hasnt lost a pound ...where would you be looking for food?...id be watching the fat dude...not the 93 lb granny next door...
True, but do you ready want to mess with your 400 pound neighbor when he carries a Mossberg 500?
The granny next door probably lived through the first depression, so she'll have food. And I'm sure it'll be a heck of a lot easier to rob her than the 400 pound animal next door.
same here ive lost 50 lbs since last june...still need to trim down...20 more...i feel like being fit is more important than ever...im well educated but i have no idea what i might "have" to do to earn a living
one time when i used to go to Weight Watchers, i went for a weigh-in and the woman behind the counter said "you didn't lose anything this week". i was shocked! i said "where's the bathroom please?" after using the bathroom i went back and said "please weigh ne again, i think that was off" i step on the scale and she looks up at me with a digusted look and says "you lost 6 pounds". LMAO. that was the highlight of my week. i was holding those torpedos all day. i thin kthey had to call a plumber!
Whole grain rice goes rancid in 6 to 12 months and mylar bags don't do anything for the shelf life because of the fat. White rice in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers can last 10 years. Buy natural vitamins because of lack of nutrients in the white rice.
reginald is on the money with the fruit and rice...carbohydrates are more important than protien in a crisis...id buy the fruit in heavy syrup...you can use the juices for sweetners in other food...you can also make your own booze with the juices...carb up folks you dont need near as much protien as you think...powered potatoes...small amounts are calorie packed..will take up less room so you can store more calories ...

Oatmeal and rice is useless if you can't cook it, and there might be times with no power...and no microwaves.

Why you need TP when don't have toilet?

Thanks for the advice. The checklist is the same as mine. Add some canned milk, dried peas/lentels, chocolate bars, MRE's, pasta, dried fruit, wind-up flashlight/radio, cofee/tea bags, matches, candles, and iodized SALT. Basically anything that stores for a long time.
Good luck, see you when its over.

silver will outperform gold because silver is heavily suppressed way more than other precious metal. silver will definitely gain its value a lot more compare to gold. silver is a better investment compare gold. silver and gold are both preserve wealth and hedge against inflation. since u are buying precious metal to save wealth why not pick the metal that get u extra investment return? it's like kill two birds with one stone. buy silver first if u have the option.

7-8 drops of chlorine bleach per gallon of water right???
KhmerD0g 2 years ago
that will do it... other good things to know is that white vinegar kills 99.9 % bacteria.
Ashes from a camp fire will help stop diarreha. I have also heard honey and sugar will help heal wounds. Have not tried this one yet. pick up some Pau d' Arco at a local health food store for bacterial infections of all kinds. Teas and herbs are for far more than flavor. Great books, Seed to Seed and 10,000 Secrets of Tea, ( for natural healing).
artnuwa11 2 years ago
If you are filling containers from city water - ie a garden hose - you shouldn't add chlorine to the water. It already has chlorine in it and will store for 2-4 years. Better to just mark it with a date and just change it out every 2 years. There are water purifiers like Purodene that are better than Chlorine because they improve the taste of the water.

technology has advanced to the point where people wont be homeless. sure there are people homeless now. But with the amount of real estate...in the event that the economy does completely collapse people will just riot and live illegaly in houses. Its not like 1930 when people lived with all of their family and when they got kicked out there was nowhere to live. there is easily a house or apartment for every family.

And Finally, you think that this will all come to pass for sure? Or are you just worried?

DizzMcMinyard 2 years ago
Very Interesting, but I'll believe the economic collapse when it happens. I would like to see a video explaining what exactly you think life is gonna be like post-collapse.. If the Federal government fell apart wouldn't local government continue? The Police would instantly have the most power in a devastation scenario, as they have the most weapons and jails and they are already well organized. So IF this happened wouldn't life revert back quickly? I mean, dirt poor nations have governments!
DizzMcMinyard 2 years ago
How does your neighbors know that you have a generator?
DEMCAD 2 years ago
Save yourself. You may have to lie and tell her that you overreacted, so that you believes that you are no longer storing food, because if there is a food shortage, she'll come looking for you.
You need to be careful what you say to your neighbors. Test the waters first. Find the sensible neighbors.

The way we handled it and it work was.
The women stayed at home and fenced against lootters with the shotgun and the molotov cocktails and the man went to fight the government.
When all was said and done, the result was that from that point on the govenment was scared of the people instead of the people being scared of the government.
greenman92553 2 years ago 2
While I appreciate your sharing your experience, I'm not sure how this would work in the US. The trouble with comparing Argentina (and how they handled their crisis) with the US is the United States is over 4 times larger both in landmass and population -- same with Iceland (who also only has 300,000 people). Logistically, they're very different and organizing the people will be very difficult because of that. But. . . maybe

Whole grain rice goes rancid in 6 to 12 months and mylar bags don't do anything for the shelf life because of the fat. White rice in mylar bags with oxygen absorbers can last 10 years. Buy natural vitamins because of lack of nutrients in the white rice.
