Crash cages are $220, slap them on a bike, no damage to the fairings. Take off your mirrors, and your safe.

Do F1 drivers practice in slower, less valuable cars prior to race time ? No, you need to be well versed in what your going to be riding.

The skills transfer over easier if you've stunted another bike, but there is still a risk its going to go down, and will eventually.
