A friend of mine ( you tuber like me), told me about your video, cause she lives nearby, so I watched it and liked a lot!!! thanks for posting it!! Greetings from Mèxico. ( I speak spanish, sorry for my english) ;).
I love Norwich too! I performed at the theater festival with a burlesque troupe and the people and place were fabulous!! However, it was early Spring and dethly cold!! I still dug the hell out of it!
@NerfTwins1337 I have certainly been through the railway station although the name did not mean anything to me! I know where Brundall is - just south of Blofield. I have filmed a lot of the Broads on this channel!
Thanks for the reply! 1st time talking to someone "across the pond"! Ontario has a large number of towns with English counterparts. I guess our forefathers brought the old country with them! One cool example is Yorkshire has Whitby and Scarborough on the North sea with the bluffs and all, we have Whitby and Scarborough with the bluffs on the shore of Lake Ontario- about the same distance apart as the originals! I would love to see the originals as I have English roots on both sides. Terrah
I live in Norwich and have done for 28 years.(since i was born) I wouldnt move anywhere else.. So close to the countryside and city at the same time.. a train journey from anywhere else in England.. one of the most historic citys in the world.. we have the Norfolk Broads close by too.. not overcrowded and a very tidy city... I actually clean most of those roads every day in my path sweeping machine as i work for the council..
@andrewbobbin I am currently in Norwich and did spend an entire year here. However I see things a bit differently and will be glad to be somewhere else.
BTW, I am glad to say that your colleagues in refuse removal actually emptied my grey bin yesterday for the first time in over a month. They were not due on Saturday so it is a good job I did not move the bin back into the front garden!
@alanheath Refuse isnt part of the council anymore its done by a different company called veolia.. they do it once a fortnight plus they get behind due to christmas and new year
i live in norwich. is alrite. at 37 secs the building and the ground underneath is on the wonk, because bodies were buried there upright, during the plague!! is why that area is called Tomb land. interesting fact of the day. lol
beautiful city of norwich... I have recently realised there's a city named NORTHWICH just south of liverpool... I think is in Cheshire, but anyway nice vid!
I love Norwich too, but this just needs a cheesy commentary to turn it into one of those hideous 1960s promotional films - "Come to Norwich, a great place to live, work and play....."
22 years in Norwich and I'm bored of it. ;)Least this video didn't glamourise the city or put it down in any way. Shown exactly as is. Well apart from the Market is sorted out now.
I was a bit bored by it but having lived in capitals - London, Paris, Madrid, Warsaw and Moscow - it was a bit of a come down. But now I have left, sometimes I miss it (but not often).
I loved living in Norwich. Eateries . . . Reggies Pie and Pea stall in the Market, Pinoccio's . . . Miss that, The Waffle House. I left when the curry wars were on in '96. We used to go the the Bombay on Timber Hill twice a week. I miss our local too, the coach and horses on Thorpe Road. I also miss the Theatre Royal, it was superb after the refit and we saw many great shos there . . . maybe one day I'll go back too!
@Poggylot Fantastic . . . It was our fave restaurant by half . . . we always had great food and a warm welcome. I remeber eating there during a thunderstorm in the summer of '95. The atmosphere was great. Hope it's as good today. Was looking at it on Google streetwise the other week and was glad to see it's still there.
i agree norwich people a nice and frendly. i have lived here all my life 34 long years the only bad thing is theres not much to do. all the meusams are expencive and the shops shut at 5.30 thats why i go to london alot but i still love norwich
To truly appreciate I had to leave it. I grew up there, lived in St. Gregory's Alley too. I used to think that its isolation was a bad thing, yet in hindsight it has preserved an excellent place. Make sure you go to Magdellen Street and Duke Street, forget the malls, London Street and all around that area, excellent, lovely. Love Norwich. And don't forget to visit the Adam and Eve for a drink.
URGH it really annoys me when people describe Norwich as a town!! We are a CITY!!!!
Don't worry about getting stared at for being black, we have plenty of black people around - though not as many as a lot of other places - but us Norfolkians have been described as the nicest people in the country :D
Nicest people in the country? Only? As can be seen by the amount of my films I have been around a bit. I have never met people as friendly as in Norwich ... anywhere.
Aww that's a lovely thing to say... myself and my mum were walking the dogs the other day and bumped into someone from up north, and he said the same thing. :D
Cheers, thats all i want to hear you know not people dissing me and calling me names like gigantic peach. I'm a peaceful guy and i love peaceful places. I hope Norwich is like that.
I going to pay a visit then. It's not safe in London and i just want a bit of peace. Is there direct trains from London to Norwich? It would be nice to go away for a few days before the start of uni. Do you live in Norwich?
I'm from London and i was just wondering if there is lack people in Norwich? i would like to visit the place one day but dont wanabe stared at coz of my skin colour.
I am mexican and I have been studing in UEA for a year now.. all I can say is that I love Norwich, it is a great place and I will really miss it a lot when I get back home.
Norwich is a great city and I have always felt safe walking the streets at any time of day. It is a lot like Amsterdam in that it is a great place to sit with a beer and watch the world go by.
true lives here all me life basically dont intend to leave it. a great city depends were ya live if ya wanna call it safe but u hear about people gettin stabbed and shot in london and manchester and ya think thank fuck im in norwich
Well I came to live in Norwich from London and i can tell you it must be one of the safest cities in England.Plus it has some great historic buildings notto mention the new forum There are always new buildings going up and Norwich can only get better. So thoseofyouwho don'tlive here are unlucky I say......
I was born in Norwich and lived most my life there, I live in London now and while I love London I still miss Norwich alot, it's a great City to live in and I intend to move back there in the future.
i miss Norwich so much....i miss everything in Norwich, especially te Cathedral, i rmb when i 1st came to Norwich, i stayed in the hotel (maidshead hotel, not sure about the name:P), which just next to the cathedral.
I studied there for 2 years in 2002-04.
I am so happy that u post this greatest video in youtube. Thank you so much!!!!!
I live in Norwich and have lived here since 1995. I am a country girl, as I was born near the coast and lived near Swaffham. As far as, cities go, Norwich is the best city I have ever been in and seeing from somebody else's view how wonderful it is to live in Norwich.

YES WE ARE A CITY and tommy is right, norwich IS a very large financial centre, what with norwich union (easily britain's biggest insurance giant), central trust etc having major offices here. it has nothing to do with the size of the place. and besides, you got your facts on norwich's size wrong. norwich was once the SECOND largest city in england behind london in elizabethan times (this was at the height of the wool trade, when norwich was the principal port, and was as important as venice!).
i love norwich, lived in cringleford all my life (jus outside norwich) and going into norwich on a weekend is great. Chips off the market are the best!
Come back Katelyn!!! I wanted to leave Norwich then i wanted to come back. Now im back in Norwich i'm happy again. I love the place!! Il buy you a drink!!!!!
Come on come back. Cromer is lovely as is Weybourne and Sheringham. The ship in Weybourne is one of my favourite Pubs. Il buy you TWO drinks AND a bag of chips, can't say fairer than that. Let it never be said Andy doesn't know how to treat a lady. :)
I spent a year in Norwich and although every weekend but perhaps four I went somewhere I still feel as though I did not use my time wisely and could have seen much more than I did! I will put some more pictures up in the future.
