i jumped on high rocks untill i got on a roof close to others around the pond where he swims, i then jumped from roof to roof and got closer onto a ledge, he began to leave so i shot him with a iron arrow with a elven bow he then ran towards me but couldnt get me, i shot him again and he got his armour on, then a lizard came and punched him, he killed the lizard so other guards started attacking him, i was safe on my roof :D please try this it will work like this so others can see it.

I had a really high AGI + Jumping Skill when I did this. What I did was jump on one of the mini roofs and then shoot him. I had some high sneaking too + chameleon, so I just crouched to get his finger.

Much easier way to do this and you don't get a bounty: raise disposition with body guard, give Phillida a poisoned apple(the khajiit in the sanctuary sells the) follow him around the three sisters inn until he eats it, watch health slowly go down, yield to his body guard. done!

i love this quest because i'm great with a bow so i always have atleast exp lvl 50 by the time i'm at the quest, this means u can use any bow and arrow btw, therefore saving rose of sithis for another, time ( bear that in mind because the 1 hit kill thingsdoesnt wear of untill you use it )

TO EVERYBODY WHO IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS

Try using a normal bow, like steel or iron, because I was using Shadowhunt and I think the effects messed up the script of the special arrow, because he just wouldn't die, so I tried it with a normal bow, and he died instantly.

@bigphot He already knows about it, I'm pretty sure he's smart though and doesn't want to hit level 10, as everything gets much more difficult at higher levels. There are actually a vast amount of people commenting and both his Brotherhood and Thieves Guild videos stating information about the skeleton key which the vast majority of people who are not stupid already know.

i went to the lake, waited for the guard to go away, went stelth (expert or master i don;t reacall), shot with bow+paralize (marksman same as stelth) and after 2 shots the guy died. a guard showed after that and if i looted they would arrest me. i just went to an inn, sleeped and returned to loot the body.

there is actually a glitch iu just found out, if you knock the rose and keep it knocked while he goes into the water the other guards go in too and kill him for you, just keep the arrow knocked on the bow and wtch them do it for you. afterward just shoot the arrow in the ground and get it and the fingure. =)

Any diffuculty the rose of sithis instantly kills Phillida. That single arrow may only show like 8 base damage but really it does like 200000...

one of the major annoyances in this game - you cant get the damn palace armour. Its just the coolest looking armour in the game and you can only get the stupid shield. Better than nothing though :)

i have found a way for me to complete the part where u have to shoot the arrow in that dude ( when i shoot he gets back in armor inmidietly and arrest and stuff:( when u are at the part where u have to shoot get in sneak mode and shoot the arrow if he wont die kill him and the other guard and go in the water and stay there until u have no enemies arround. then travel to the imperial prison if u have no luck like me u will be caught and u will have to pay a fine of 1040 gold. its worth it ;)

It's probably a bug, i've had a couple of those before =(. for instance, i cant complete cure for vampirism because one of the ingredients you have to give the witch doesn't show up.

I never tackle the Dark Brotherhood quests until I've got to the Arcane University, enchanted all my accessories and armour with Chameleon, and can run around permanently invisible and kill and steal with impunity. Same goes for the Thieves Guild. Takes away a lot of the challenge, I know, but it's just so funny running around in front of people stabbing them left right and centre and they're going like "WTF?!?"

I got all the way to the Mission "Cleansing" or something like that, but restarted because I got that Vampire disease without knowing so I restarted my person. But before that on the Faelian mission, I killed him with his Girlfriend in the room. So a couple missions later, I had to do this Assassination. But on my new person, I killed Faelian in some skooma den or something with no one but me with him. I got to "Cleansing" again without doing this mission. Weird?
